- Using MikroTik CHR as a BGP edge router , Kevin Myers (IP ArchiTechs, USA). This presentation will look at the design and performance aspects of using a MIkroTik CHR as a BGP edge router to handle full table routing.. PDF: https:.
Kevin, What's your method to protect CHR from DDOS attacks? I am weary to put non asic routers at the edge.
Great video, we've been debating heavily on the direction we want to go hardware wise for BGP.
PS: Someone should probably tell them that a socket is what the CPU goes into (I think you meant cores) ☺
Has Mikrotik improved loading table into kernel time? As far I remember it was unaxeptable.
Can we get the PDF?
How to disable TSO/LSO in Proxmox ?
Thanks for your testing, it's a surprising result about Hyper-V. BTW, I found ESXi have a special settings about latency sensitive, did you enable that? Any difference on performance?
what were your interface types vmxnet3, virtio... can you use sriov with CHR?
How to use 10 Gig sfp+ on proxmox ? we are using vmxnet3 and virtio interface type but both was low throughput. using vmxnet3 maximum support 1Gig and virtio support 4.5 Gig...any help ?
Have u solved this?
Is there a link or pdf in description? Appears to be missing.

✋ wait.. KVM won't let you assign more than 8vCPU? I passed my entire Ryzen 1700 to a VM...
KVM will absolutely allow more then 8vcpus
Would be interesting to know caused the maximum CPU obstacle Kevin encountered.
Seems the vCPU limit for KVM is a moving target.
Red Hat spec page shows varying vCPU counts per major OS version release. access.redhat.com/articles/rhel-kvm-limits
Page 6 of a KVM slide deck from 2008 indicates the limit then was 16 vCPU because of hardcoded array sizes. www.linux-kvm.org/images/b/be/KvmForum2008%24kdf2008_6.pdf
