It makes me think they’re still here with me even though they’re not. You meant so much to me Kara I hope that you are somewhere better now. I’m with you....Always
LOVE IT!!! Made me tear up, I know my God is with me. Even if these lyrics aren't about God, I know who is with me in the darkness until light of the Morning, Thanks Killswitch, you've done it again!!!
this is exactly how god speaks to us and he is with us always. KSE have such a holy godly vibe its amazing. i have listed to them since before i knew god. and its an eye opener.
All of their lyrics point towards Jesus Christ. Even their latest album has a lion defeating a serpent on it... and now they have pics on their merch site with the cross and a stag.
For my children ❤️ My youngest just turned 18 so I'm now home without them, not by choice. It's so hard to let them go live their lives without feeling like my best friends aren't here anymore, but they know I'll always be here.
Okay, as a Christian I can say that this song is intended for the loss of a loved one. The music video portrays it with two brothers coping with the inevitable loss of the older one, and that the song is a message from the older dying brother to the younger one. When you see people posting that "I AM" is God and that this song correlates to Christianity, just let them take it how they want. Killswitch is probably fine with it okay. They conveyed their message out and any artist will tell you it's fine (unless it's Within The Ruins, they hate religion haha). Really though, I don't thump my bible on people's head, but, is there a reason why these guys can't believe in what they want to believe without people attacking them? You realize that by infringing on their rights, it is even worse than them posting about their faith right? I mean just because they have the balls to be open about their beliefs doesn't mean they are shoving it down your throat does it? Believe me, I know people that do, but it doesn't mean every single Christian is the way you think they are. This whole us vs them mentality has to stop. Who's spreading more poison, the people sharing what they believe in or the people taking the time to patronize and condemn them for it? Ask yourself that then decide if it's okay to take personal shots. Killswitch I didn't think after Howard that you would still go in this direction again. Thank you this song is killer!
Actually, Jesse (the vocalist) is a Christian and writes his lyrics based upon things he deals with in life. I think this could be taken in two different ways: loss of a loved one, or perhaps Jesse intentionally wrote it so it could also align with what Jesus could have been saying to the disciples when He told them He would be crucified. Either way, Jesse mentioned that he's not trying to shove his beliefs down any throats but he also said that what he writes is based upon struggles and scenarios he's dealt with in his life, and since he's a Christian, it probably only makes sense that his lyrics sound so Christian-oriented. He actually said that Alive or Just Breathing (my favorite KSE album no doubt) was his attempt to create a record on Roadrunner that would show the light of God to the world. I mean, he said half the band isn't "religious", but that implies that he's not the only Christian/deist in the band- I think Adam may be some form of Christian as well, seeing as he was the one behind much of Times of Grace's material, and that is even more Christian-oriented than KSE. I know he's certainly not atheist, seeing as he thanks God in many of the album credits and he seems to always tell the crowd "God bless you all" at the end of their shows.
Well, I agree that it is using Biblical terms (In Due Time did this as well with, "Where does my help come from?"), but this song does appear to primarily be about the loss of a loved one, though it could be about the loss of a loved one and how God responds to such pain when speaking to a believer.
Matthew 28:20 "Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Psalm 103:12 "as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."
For those who like karaoke; here are the lyrics In these moments of loss and torment When the vast skies don't seem to call to you When the weight of this world bears down And the stars have fallen like tears I am with you always From the darkness of night 'til the morning I am with you always From life until death takes me Monuments built in remembrance of me But monuments fade, erode and decay The memories are all that remain (all that remain) As far as east is from the west, remember I am with you always From the darkness of night until the morning I am with you always From life until death takes me When hope seems lost down and lowly I am here with you always I am with you always From the darkness of night I am with you always From the darkness of night until the morning I am with you always From life until death takes me I am with you always From life until death takes me
My bf would always listen to this song throughout the house... He ended up taking his life August 23 2018... I miss him more than anything. My heart will hurt for as long as I live...
Thank you for writing this song! It has helped us with loss of friends and family. Your music has brought us strength in times when all seemed lost. It was beautiful to see you guys play live at Starland Ballroom with Testament, Huntress and Lamb of God. It was magical to see the ENTIRE crowd singing this song WORD for WORD!!
This is a very deep and beautiful song. I love Killswitch Engage anyways, but this one runs through my veins. I don’t know how anybody could dislike this song.
Such powerful song...and I just discovered it a few days ago....and the official video is even more emotional if that's possible, outstanding job guys.
Why do you guys care if some people want to believe that it could be God speaking to them through this song. Everyone can get what they want from this song. Songs mean different things to different people. The artist here might have a completely different interpretation. Just take it for what you believe it is and enjoy this amazing song. Don't spread hate for other people and their beliefs. Personally I enjoyed hearing people express the idea that God could be in this song. It made the song all the more touching. That's just my personal experience.
As a Christian I agree with you, Jesus is the only God, he alone casts your sins as far as the east is from tue west. He's the only one who can truly sympathize with your loses and suffering and he alone will be with you always.
Idk what you mean by that statement. You can't talk about objective reality and reject God. We are his creation and objective reality for us begins and ends with him.
This song hits hard at home....I just found my long lost sister after 22 years she's the last of my family left.....and she doesn't have long left to live. This song will be forever in her memory till it's my time thanks kse
man, this is awesome. Every part of the visual lyrics and their backgrounds are perfect. Even the black, white and greys, perfect for the lyrics. The song, visuals, everything, thank you.
I just saw them last night in Pittsburgh with Lamb of God!! Pretty wicked concert and this had to be one of my favorites they played last night! Great song :)
this song used to come onto the radio all the time, and no matter where I was or what I was doing, I would stop just to listen to it. Even played my radio at night, I would be fast asleep but as soon as the song came on I woke up. Beautiful song.
I found this when a friend wrote me from jail and told me to listen to it. This is the most amazingly well done lyrics video I have ever seen! Great work!
My father died a month ago, and this was the song he always sang to my mother. Even at his funeral, this and "going out in style" by Dropkick Murphy's was playing.
Truly a beautiful song, perfectly written and performed. Great vocal effects, unlike anything I can think of. Any song that can either get you pumped or let you drown in sorrow, is an instant classic imho.
I've been a KSE fan since the beginning but they have REALLY helped me through the last 3 months since losing my mom and I've really struggled with it more then I've told anyone even my older sister who I've always been close with. I've never been one to talk about my feelings but KSE have helped me grunt through it with their songs like this one, we carry on and rose of Sharyn and they will always have a fan in me forever they have help me realize that I'm not alone and life is worth living and to carry on.
I recently lost my youngest son. I have not been coping with it well. My wife, who has remained so strong through this process, showed this to me one day saying "He would have wanted you to hear this."

Matthew 28:20 "Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Psalm 103:12 "as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."
Who else is listening to this absolute hit in 2023?? ❤ It’s my favorite song from Killswitch Engage ❤
2024 ❤
I love when Killswitch slows it down like this song once and a while. 🤘
This is my latest What To Play After Getting Bad News song. Truly awesome and beautiful. April 2024
For those who like karaoke; here are the lyrics
In these moments of loss and torment
When the vast skies don't seem to call to you
When the weight of this world bears down
And the stars have fallen like tears
I am with you always
From the darkness of night 'til the morning
I am with you always
From life until death takes me
Monuments built in remembrance of me
But monuments fade, erode and decay
The memories are all that remain (all that remain)
As far as east is from the west, remember
I am with you always
From the darkness of night until the morning
I am with you always
From life until death takes me
When hope seems lost down and lowly
I am here with you always
I am with you always
From the darkness of night
I am with you always
From the darkness of night until the morning
I am with you always
From life until death takes me
I am with you always
From life until death takes me
I miss my grandpa. I lost him November 1st 2012. I miss him a lot, this song reminds me of him
This song brings me to tears almost always
Just reaches right into me.... And really, we are all brothers (and sisters), and are there with each other.
My bf would always listen to this song throughout the house... He ended up taking his life August 23 2018... I miss him more than anything. My heart will hurt for as long as I live...
Im Very Sorry Seriously
Stay Strong 🔥
Thank you
I feel this song in the deepest blackest part of my brightest light........
This song reminds me of my dad. Dad, I love ya man and you are my hero always. Love ya buddy.
Much love💚
I don't care what anyone says this is a beautiful song I love it Killswitch is so badass don't ever change guys 💪🤘
I don't know anyone who 🗣💩 bout this song. It’s brilliant!
This is a very deep and beautiful song. I love Killswitch Engage anyways, but this one runs through my veins. I don’t know how anybody could dislike this song.
great phrasing by Adam dutkiewicz, great vocals, great bass, great drums, this song goes up the spine
This song will always be to my older who we lost 4 years ago. I'll always cry when I hear this song 💙
For not being a Christian band these lyrics are better and more uplifting than many songs of that genre out there. Simply beautiful.
Thank you Killswitch Engage.
I miss you Dad
Such powerful song...and I just discovered it a few days ago....and the official video is even more emotional if that's possible, outstanding job guys.
This song just lifts me up, so beautiful.
Your beliefs can stuff it. If it literally contradicts reality, you deserve no respect, pull your head out the sand.
As a Christian I agree with you, Jesus is the only God, he alone casts your sins as far as the east is from tue west. He's the only one who can truly sympathize with your loses and suffering and he alone will be with you always.
How often does this band write songs or lyrics that are abrasive too the Christian spirit? Never
Because its wrong and objective reality matters more than belief
Idk what you mean by that statement. You can't talk about objective reality and reject God. We are his creation and objective reality for us begins and ends with him.
A truly brilliant band beautiful song guys. The words in it pulls on them heart strings 💋
Very uplifting song by a very talented band
What a great band. Vocals are just sick.
What a song!

I play along with this song almost every time I pick the Jackson up. Love ya dad. See ya soon
This song is magic to my ears. I can't stop listening. .-.
Love this song. I lost my sister 3 years ago and miss and think about her all the time. 😘💔
This song makes me think of my older brother who is going through some hard times... I wish I could make him understand that I am always here for him.

In the name of Jesus 🙏
this song used to come onto the radio all the time, and no matter where I was or what I was doing, I would stop just to listen to it.
Even played my radio at night, I would be fast asleep but as soon as the song came on I woke up.
Beautiful song.
I found this when a friend wrote me from jail and told me to listen to it. This is the most amazingly well done lyrics video I have ever seen! Great work!
So many feels. Great song from a great band.
My favorite work of Jesse's. Can't help but think how this would sound with Howard's vocals.
I agree. But I personally prefer Howard.
This song still gets me to cry.
This should have a lot more views! This song has intensity heart and soul! Something that's lacking in todays music!
That song just tears me up inside.
and the stars have fallen down .. like TEAAAARRRRSSSS !
I think about my parents when I hear this song. Im just so grateful I have them both and we will always be together
This song is art. Truely just incredible. I love this. The guys voice is amazing
