Ten lifetimes of an ordinary mortal is't enough even to appreciate to the fullest the music that Pandit BMK has rendered in one lifetime. No one but KRISHNA Himself can fully appreciate the music of the divine Balamuralikrishna-ji.
Verily, Dr. Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna is now in Vaikuntha, with Shri Hari, whence he once came.

FIrst I thought Jesudas was the best ever. Then i got to listen to Pt. Bhimsen Joshi and Hindustani music. Finally I ended up watching BalamuraliKrishna Garu..And I dont think I can find any one better.

Yesudasji can sing in any octave. He can manage both classical and film music, which is not easy

I sincerely believe that comparisons of this type really does disservice to all the three giants mentioned here. Each of these artistes have provided unlimited happiness to millions of people. They have in many many cases brought sincere tears to the eyes of many of their rasikAs by bringing the darshan of the good Lord himself. their music opens us to our own goodness and kindness if we listen with an open mind. Trying to rank them is like telling that a rose smells better than jasmine. What stops anyone from enjoying all of them? This is a sad commentary on the "number one" culture.

    • @shanevivek

Not ranked them, my experience and knowledge widened hearing each one of them.

That is a fair and an insightful point indeed. I want to thank you because your reply brought back a rush of memories. It was Sri Yesudas opened my eyes, ears and mind to carnAtik music when I listened to his "thiruppArkadalil pallikondayE sriman nArAyaNA' from the 1975 movie Swamy Ayyappan. I did not realize that it was in the rAga bhairavi. I used to like this song so much that I would sing the first line of the pallavi whenever I was playing carrom to psyche myself to put the "follow" after the red! Eventually, I started listening to Sri BMK (not surprisingly, nagumOmu!). Then, one day, I was lying down alone in my home in the early evening because I was having a light fever. I saw a carnAtic program featuring Sri Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan on the TV. I was so smitten by his music that I felt a desire to want to learn carnAtic music so I could put at a little bit of kalpana swara. I continue to learn carnAtic music to this day, and I cannot thank these doyens enough for opening my life to the wonderous world of nAdha! Again, thank you for making me recall truly pleasant memories from the past.

Dr.BalmuaraliKrishna is a living legend, His singing is slightly different from other Carnatic style singers in the sense that he does not use gamaks very much. hence he is liked by North Indian classical listeners. I wish him long healthy performing life. Ronu is able to match with Guru's notes well

The connection of sound and linguistic speech sound dancing with one another reminds me of the utter connection of the cliche that humankind is connected by music. Although trained in North America by the prevalent overpower of tonality of the western world I can only see that music from different cultures share a common origin of the harmonic series, so I can appreciate this language from a different perspective. Thank you for this wonderful video!

There is basic difference in hindustaani and carntic. In hindustaani it takes time to peak while it is not the case with carnatic. With this difference singing along with hindutaani requires great command which is in ample display here by Balamurali.

Expecting flawless reach to perfect 3rd octave from an octogenarian vocalist is utter stupidity on your part Mr Vasudeva Kolar. He sang 20000+ concerts by that time and you listen to his music of 1960-80 and you'll only laugh at your ignorance after that.
