I’m interested in the polished gold color, but in the google promo pics it shows the gold color with a gold screen background. I’d prefer black screen background so the white words and numbers are easier to read with the contrast. Do you know if the background color can be changed? I want the gold thermostat with black screen.

Currently using nest learning thermostat. Will this new 4th generation require a complete installation or I can pop off old thermostat and pop on this new one? Love the new design and thank you for posting, Sir.

Yes, as for when specifically, they will have to say exactly the date.

Will they have addressed the problem of using 3rd gen nest with a dual fuel cold climate heat pumps where in the current generation settings only allow the aternative fuel lock out to a low of -10c whereas these pumps are stil efficient down to some -30C, thus avoiding the higher cost fossil fuel supplemental heat?
Is the cover a reflective plastic?
