  • She's been called the finest jazz violinist of our time. Meet Regina Carter on her national tour playing music from her album Southern Comfort. We caught up with her at SOPAC, the South Orange Performing Arts Center, in South Orange, NJ. There, the remarkable violinist explains how her coal miner grandfather from Alabama became the inspiration for the album and she performs the classic lullaby "Cornbread Crumbled in Gravy."

I'm not sure why, but the first that came in mind while I heard her play her instrument was the movie Ratatouille. It reminded me of the music played in the movie Le Festin by Camille. The way she plays her violin is phenomenal and makes me think of a summer garden.
