One of the best things about this episode is when Nate was playing the violin- that was real. Nick Mohammed was playing his childhood violin, and the piano in the back was played by his wife!
I read that Nick M is a classically trained violinist. I think his wife is musician as well. I really liked how Rebecca saw the whole room as little kids. Uncle day was awesome. He wore the shirt and Jamie gave him a perfect gift. Jamie wearing Sams # was great. The thing that got me, was the reconnecting of Nate and his dad. I no genius, but I had a similar talk with my dad a few months before he passed. Needless to say, that was a happy tears scene. Thanks guys!
After the episode released, Nick Mohammed tweeted that he did play the violin in that scene, and his wife played piano with him for that piece. So great. -Andrew

Ohh, yes, the father (actually either parent) stuff can be so hard… Thx for sharing your story, hope others notice that. It’s well worth it. Even is one has to be the adult and just let the past be to an extent, even a large extent. Not always possible, but often worth a try.
I enjoy your reactions! One highlight for me in this episode was watching Phoebe figure out what Jamie meant about changing the E for a U on Roy’s jersey. Comedy gold!
Yes Nick Mohammed is really playing the violin and it's his wife playing the piano with him in the scene. The piece is Arvo Part’s ‘Spiegel im Spiegel’ which translates to 'mirror in mirror'.
The show is about the Ted Effect. We've spent 2.5 seasons of him setting things in motion. I believe the rest of the show is how everything else has changed and how it is time for him to move forward.
Agreed. And they subtle told us this with Ted screening time. The last 3-4 chapters, Ted was not the MC but some side character because in the end is all about the "Lasso´s way" and not about Ted Lasso. Is really beautiful if you think about it.
I wouldn't be surprised if they do a Seinfeld-like story where Trent is writing the "Lasso Way" and at the end we hear that the manuscript is being purchased to be turned into a tv show.
I'm from Argentina and here football is life, what Rebecca talked during her speach it was one of the most beautiful said on tv about the sport. I cried and I loved every second of it. PS: The Super League is something real that a lot of important people with money wanted to do but it is always rejected by people, so because of how real it is it hurts more.
Okay, couple things that stood out for me: One, Barbara is definitely written autistic, and good rep for us. Two, both my mother and my father (who were horrible while I was growing up) have had that speech Nate's dad gave. Three (bonus rounds!), two things I loved were Jade telling another surrealist joke, and Jamie showing his growth in the two things he did with jerseys this ep. I let out a momentary, ooh when I saw Jamie in 24.
The Danny Rojas storyline this ep was so creepy. His performance actually sent shivers down my spine! Also, I love Edwin. I think he is bat shit crazy but his pettiness is just hilarious. Also, nice touch with the letter to Will with the lavener attached to it. It is a throw back to when Will became kitman and changed the detergent to lavender (I think the ep is actually called Lavender something)
jajaja same. But still, is a real thing in football. I am from LATAM and even when players played in the same team, when they´re internationals games, they´re the enemy. But after the 90 minutes, they´re friends. Is weird but we just have too much passion in latam xD Even though, they really need to address this issue in the next chapters. At least to give some kind of explanation for no-latam viewers xD
The scene in the locker room with Van Dam, was a nod to the scene in Top Gun between Maverick and Ice Man. Danny is even wearing a leather flight jacket and aviators (just like Ice Man’s).
I thought it was scarily accurate from my experiences. I have two Mexican friends who are just as kind and smiley as Dani. BUT, when the US plays Mexico, they are the meanest people I know. I can't say anything without it becoming a confrontation. "Can you pass me a napkin?" "Why did you only ask the Mexican for a napkin? Do you think I am here to serve you?" It's so scary. When a match is coming up I just stay far away from them. If the US wins, I stay away a little longer, which makes me think Mexico won in the episode. And then everything goes back to normal.
@@claudiocontrerasgomez2949 I dunno, I’m completely ignorant in these matters & felt it was quite clear. Thx for the further explanation tho! So interesting, and also not surprising :)
I think we will see more of Jamie's storyline, with man city in the next episode. Specifically with his family and life in Manchester. He didn't leave the club on the best terms (with the reality show) and think they could go into how his overall image is changing beyond those in the club, such as with those from home/Manchester and the man city team, as well as the media. He has played a large part in the series with his character development(along with everyone else) and his story has been in the background of the story lines and think it will be brought up more in this upcoming episode. We have many little pieces from episodes, but nothing feels tied up or finished with that story. Jamie with Roy's sister would be great (in my fangirl opinion)
@@ItTakes2Takes And Nate signing the card "Wonder Kid" when he absolutely ripped Will to shreds when the team gave him that Richmond jersey with WONDER KID on the back and they said it was Will's idea. Nice callback to that and a genuine apology.
34:36 That was the official confirmation. We had heard she was a doctor, and we even saw her but we didn't know then she was also Roy's sister. It's very funny because when you think about it, it's not something she would advertise, so while Ted would have loved to acknowledge that, he probably didn't know it either.
And I said "nurse" smh. But yes! After recording this, I was thinking about Ted's interaction with her too. Even if Ted didn't know who she was, you'd think SHE knew he was Richmond's coach. Even just a comment like "Oh, you know my brother!" in that moment would have made sense. But, I'm nitpicking, I suppose lol -Andrew
Roy's sister is a doctor, and that's why he looks after his niece so much. Remember the Christmas episode she was called into surgery, and Roy and Keeley couldn't have sexy Christmas
I started looking her up during our review in this video but kept that clip for the end screen. I mistakenly referred to her as a nurse. And I forgot about the mention of her being called into surgery during the xmas episode of Season 2. Good catch! -Andrew
So many great episodes this season. Loved it. I love getting to know the team, seeing their mini-arcs. Nate still owes more people an apology. He said some truly awful things to Colin. He even said awful things to Rebecca before he realized she wasn't firing him, but in fact promoting him (season 1)
Richmond will always be Rupert's first love. I think he invited Rebecca because the boy in him didn't want a super league without Richmond being there.
I read a theory I liked, that Rupert actually didn’t support the super league and invited Rebecca because he felt she would be the more persuasive speaker against it. When I rewatched the scene it makes sense, especially when Rupert asks her what she thinks.
I agree with Andrew in that this might be my favorite episode of the season so far. Yes, I realize I may have said that about the last 3 episodes lol! While I disagree where I’ve heard other places that this one was overstuffed, I do wish they’d shown Nate quitting. I also wonder if he told his family he didn’t get fired. Finally I was going to talk about Roy’s sister being the one who treated Dr. Sharon in season 2, but a bunch of people beat me to it.
I can’t believe UA-cam did some heavy lifting and brought you here! Please watch whatever interests you on this little channel and lmk your thoughts 🙌 -Andrew (guy on the right)
when Nate played the violin, I suddenly got a brainstorm theory of what could happen! So SPOILERS if it does.... ever wonder why the show makes such a big deal of the street musicians performing near Ted's flat? Hmmmmmm, what if he comes out one morning and there is Nate with his violin? I would LOVE that.
Interesting theory! Honestly, if that happened, I'd spend that whole scene bracing for some sort of cringe "Nate moment" where Nate gets harrassed by another street musician or something lol -Andrew
Another fun fact I came across. May was quoting Nietzsche - You make it up to the top of a mountain, and what's left for me but lightning"?. There are different interpretations but I found this one which I think speaks to Keeley. We cannot really define who we are, until we reach the limits (top of the mountain) of what we are capable of becoming. It is at the point where one stops the journey of gaining knowledge (lightning) and decides “I have enough!” or we take the knowledge and rise above/proceed further than before.
In “Sunflowers” Rebecca chose to wear a flowing, loose, fitting sundress while her clothes were in the dryer, a real departure from her usual look and seemed to show her guard was down and the Real Rebecca was coming out.. Rebecca’s wardrobe is tight fitting, and her hair is usually carefully styled. Hannah waddingham says this was representative of Rebecca’s need for control over herself, to show the world that she is doing well when she wasn’t. In the last scene in this episode her dress is flowing and her hair is simple. I think in no longer letting Rupert’s shadow influence her feelings Real Rebecca is back.♥️
I made a prediction early on this season. Barb's mos prominent snow globe was from Holland. I originally thought it meant she'd meet Jan Mas and fall in love. They both have the straightforward manner. But maybe she has ties to Rebecca's canal boat man.
The next two episodes are written by Jason Sudekis. His mother in the next issue. Maybe with Henry? She might be the key to Ted going back home. For Henry.
I loved this episode! And it really didn't feel rushed at all. After this episode I'm now confident that they'll wrap up this show beautifully with the last two episodes. Also seeing the little army man stuck in that matchbook, I'm more hopeful than ever that Ted and Rebecca might end up together. I also think Ted leaving Richmond to go back to Kansas feels inevitable so I don't know how that and Tedbecca endgame happen at the time 😅 so consider me intrigued!
Prediction: George becomes West Ham's manager. Nate gives the strategy to beat him. If you'll remember, George has been bashing them all season and the second Nate was gone from West Ham, George went all in on him. I've brought up bitter sweet ending. I think Richmond beats West Ham and Man City but still some downer. Maybe they miss out on a trophy. Also going forward, the arc is 3 seasons. With the writers' strike, I'm hoping but pessimistic about more Ted Lasso. It's bitter sweet that it's ending.
I have a prediction for Akufo because something has to take him down. I predict he loses his tech company and his money (power). Maybe a government coup or he chokes (heart attack) due to the hotdogs he loves so much. I'm a little afraid for Rebecca and how he'll retaliate against her.
In the final scene of this episode, with Rebecca and Ted, there's a brief shot of a newspaper with a headline about Edwin: "Crash of the Titans; Rumoured Akufo League falls apart" - I have a feeling that was a way of concluding Edwin's arc in the season/series, but maybe they'll still have him choke on hotdogs idk -Andrew
I just read this theory in another reaction video. Sam´s restaurant had cameras because the break-in so they have video footage of Akufo admitting bribing the Nigeria´s Football Association and some other personalities/companies. Akufo will loose his support and will be investigated for corruption so he will end poor and outcast or at least he will not bother Sam anymore.
YES! I said the same thing about the ending of the episode (Rebecca spitting tea in Ted's face) feeling like the finale! Like, I would have totally been satisfied with the show ending on that open note of wanting to win for the team, but not knowing how far they go, what happens next, etc. I know we still need closure on some things mainly revolving around Ted, but if they'd used that scene for the finale, I would have been happy. And I think these recent episodes featuring less Ted and more of the other characters is to show how the Lasso Effect has worked on and changed the rest of the characters for the good. We'll get the rest of Ted's journey in these last 2 episodes. And I can't wait!
Hi guys!… I have fun watching your reviews, I just want to say that if you don’t remember “Christmas episode” when Roy had to take his niece to the the sexy party with Kelley because her mom had to work at the hospital, that’s why she was the nurse 😃. By the way this was my favorite episode of the season, so far!
So, Rupert’s old assistant was called Ms. Cakes; his new assistant is named Ms. Bread. I think that’s supposed to be some subtle indication that Rupert has turned over a new leaf and is making healthier choices (for himself and hopefully his family). I kinda like the idea of an incomplete comeuppance and hinted-at-but-not-fully-shown redemption for Rupert
Good catch! I think Rupert is realizing that life didn't bring him real happiness and now he's looking for "sustenance" and someone of value. Old Rupert would not have invited Rebecca to that meeting or he would have invited her in order to humiliate her. In this episode he asked her opinion before forming his own opinion and he valued what she said. And then, of course, he tried to kiss her. I think he was hoping for some sort of reconciliation, though I wonder what happened to Beccs.
Aside from it being a callback to the Season 1 finale like I mentioned at 33:33? Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca) said it best on Twitter the other day: "...Rebecca, who's always craved safety & the reassurance that she is enough, feels SAFE ENOUGH to know Ted won't get mad, but that he will GET her silliness"

I think he was hoping for some sort of reconciliation, though I wonder what happened to Beccs.
Great job guys 💯
Thanks for watching and subscribing!! -Andrew
Just a great episode all around
So much detail explained except why Rebecca spit tea in Ted’s face.
Jaime and the teacher? Roy introduces them maybe?
Or move in on Beard and get Jane out of the picture? Whatever it takes to keep her around! -Andrew
The fact Ted said that he is ACTUALLY okay with Rebecca spitting onto his face. So married coded please.
People will complain no matter what because some people live to complain.
Are you referring to my comment about complaints re: Ted being more in the background this season?
rather then the new episodes the reaction and review from yall is the next thing i look forward to
Thank you! We're just a small channel tucked away in this massive world of UA-cam, so I'm blown away by comments like this. I really appreciate it! -Andrew

nates redemption was unsatisfying because he didnt turn full heel..they half assed it... they should of made him pure evil
so i'm pretty sure roy's sister is the doctor that treated Dr Sharon
Yea I mention it at 34:36 but said she was a “nurse” by mistake -Andrew
