Where Arcane giveth, Arcane taketh away. They really had the kiss we've been waiting for right before their second break-up.😭 I get it, Caitlin nearly shooting a child was a traumatic betrayal for Vi, but it still hurts! Even more so seeing Caitlin starting to become like Jinx.
Wasn't even a kiss, it was Caitlyn deflecting, silencing Vi from further expressing her legitimate concerns. So toxic, yet desperate shippers just lapping the filth up, saying to themselves.....Wow, this is what love looks like! Smh This is not a real relationship with a real, carefully built bond.
I think the grey being depicted as a monster to me shows those who use the grey as a weapon are the monsters. Like when the arcade was gassed, the smoke comes in almost like a smoke creature which then shows a monster with multiple eyes that splits up to reveal the enforcers. They are the monsters within the gas. "The people of the underground deserve to breathe."
The worst part is that after Caitlyn butts Vi in the stomach with her gun, if you look closely you can see a small micro expression of regret. It doesn’t excuse her, but shows that she knows what she did is wrong but is too full of anger to admit it.😢 And I think Vi cried not because Cait hit her, but because of the fact she then leaves her. The first person that she trusted since she got out of prison, the first person she began to bond with again, and the first person she ever fell in love with, now she believes hates her.😭 It’s almost a parallel to what happened to her and Jinx/Powder (the red person leaving the blue person, now the blue person leaves the red person).
The saddest thing is the same situation happened to Miles and Gwen in a way. Side note, VI is DEFINITELY going to have a bitter ex phase after this one.
On top of that, it couldn't have very long since Vi had been stabbed by Sevika. Regardless of the small amount of shimmer that was put into the medicine Cait brought her, that wound likely wouldn't have completely healed over yet. So she not only hit Vi in the stomach, she hit Vi in a healing wound, or at the very least the same place as a recent wound.
@@Otisboy121 There is of course, now that I think of it, also the fact that hitting people with the butt of the rifle is a pretty standard method for enforcers to use. So it's probably also drawing on years enforcer brutality that she's experienced.
One thing no one seems to remember is that, in Season 1 Episode 5, there is a meeting between Jace, Viktor and the corrupt cop at the top of the Arcane tower. During the meeting, Viktor has a dizzy spell/hallucination/vison and a drop of his blood falls over the edge, most likely landing on that core at the bottom. Given the trouble the smaller version in his office caused, I can only imagine what a larger version will do!
8:26 While it may be a reference to episode 1, it's very clearly a reference to Macbeth, with the hands covering eyes forming the crown shadow in the background
It's funny to realize that this is not Jace and Ekko's first encounter on this show. Season 1 starts with Vi and the gang getting a tip from Little Man, who suckered a young student in Plitover. Ekko tells them his location, and the rest is animated perfection.
Isha and jinx break my heart when she saves her from vi because all isha sees is an enforcer trying to kill another one of her family and another just shamelessly trying to kill her and her new big sister and vi had the relaisiation rhat she's become the thing that she never wanted to be, and enforcer that scares people, gasses their homes and kills children and you can see the heartbreak jn her eyes
Some other items for the intro that been pointed out by others. Many of them are calls to famous plays. Cait hands making the shadow crown is Macbeth. Jinx waving the flag is Les Mis. And so on.
I just absolutely love Ambessa, she’s so brilliantly written, and is brilliant herself. She knows what she’s doing. Losing Silco, such an amazing villain was tragic, but now we got Ambessa to take his place. I just need to know more, she’s just amazing. Also, I love me my manipulative characters!
34:41 I love this scene symbolism. Vi takes off her gauntlets and lefts them behind showing how she's lowering her guard down to talk, while Cait keeps holding her gun. Something she didn't do after Vi asked her for a minute to have a talk about Jinx.
There's 2 things regarding the fight between Cait and Vi that I don't really see get mentioned much: 1. Whether Caitlyn would have missed the shot under normal circumstances doesn't matter. She clearly isn't thinking straight (no pun intended), which makes her sloppy. A better shot than most, but still sloppy. Why would she choose to hit Jinx in the finger if she could have just killed her then and there. Plus, her gun was wigging out not even 5 minutes beforehand, who's to say it wouldn't have happened again? (It didn't but she couldn't have known that it wouldn't.) 2. Vi got stabbed by Sevika relatively recently. Wounds that deep don't heal fast (several weeks . Even though she was given a small bit of shimmer in the medicine from Cait, that wound would more than likely still be healing on some level. The state of the wound isn't shown, so there's no way to be certain, but they never show any variant of shimmer fully healing somebody either (barring Jinx, whose treatment was far more intensive than just drinking a potion). Which would mean that Cait hit Vi in an already weakened area, assuming that the wound is still healing.
I'm picking on your Arcane journey late, but HOLY MOLLY is it refreshing to see someone with media literacy actually paying attention to all the subtleties in this show. I was so pissed off after it ended to see so much people missing whole plot points bc they weren't paying enough attention to what the show was... well, showing. And the same people would then call this season badly written or whatever. I am really looking forward seeing your whole reaction, but from what I saw in this first act, it's a big W. Instant sub and like
I didn’t notice this till rewatching but Sevika protects both Isha and Jinx when the air blasts everyone away, I love Sevika’s character in this season, how important protecting her own is to her
Episode 3 in season 1 is the same as season 2 powder gets hit and left by someone she loved now vi got hit and left by someone she loved the crying scenes are very very similar as well maybe vi will understand the pain powder went through and jinx will understand the pain vi went through because of the kid isha 😳
The black rose is a noxian cabale, founded by 2 powerfull mages 1000 years ago (Leblanc- mirrormagic and Vladimir - Bloodmagic) Those 2 fight each other since the foundation of noxus and influence politics behind the scenes. While Leblanc is the leader of the black rose, vladimir is more of a lose memeber and founded his own secret society, making him more independent from the black rose while also staying as a member of the back rose. Ambessa has definitly seriuos problems with the wrong people. Noxus is ruled by a triumvirate but one member of the 3, Swain is seen as the ruler/emperor of noxus. He is also opposing the Black rose and he just can so because his arm hosts the Demon of secrets, feeding him intel. The black Rose is heavily involved in creating and leading noxus for over 1000 years now and Leblanc is seen as one of the oldest and most powerfull mages in the World. She is also among the strongest mortals and the most influential mortals in the entire setting.
It's not just about power, tho... the main point of existence of the black rose is preventing Mordekaiser's return and assure he remains well-sealed, as well as being prepared enough to fight him in the case he does manage to come back
I just realized... how come Sevika never gets featured in the intro? Especially in this season, she has more screen time than some other characters like Viktor.
The End of Season 2 Act 1: The Setup, the Stage is set, the Epilogue of Season 1 is finished, now we’ll just have to see how well everything will go from here. Enter the Black Rose, I wonder how they will affect things.
Fictional gay couples have to not only breakup, but also break up in the most tragic way. We got the kiss we all dreamed off, but then the “divorce” we got nightmares off. We just cannot catch a break. 😭💔🌈
Someone may have already posted this, but the character of Lest is actually trans - confirmed by the character's voice actress Eve Lindley who is a trans actress.
Potential Spoiler Warning Comment below for anyone who hasn't watched the full video... We spent 3 years, going through the 5 stages of grief, wondering if Mel was dead ... only then to get her back, feel relieved... and in 3 episodes, she gets kidnapped by witches.
Noxus is war, that's all it ever is. Might Makes Right is the foundation of that entire nation, Ambessa seems like she's kinda the result of not having enough power, or seeking it from the wrong source.
Vi and Jinx's parents most likely fought alongside Vander on the bridge which explains why the enforcers killed them and Vi still sides with them trying to kill the only family she has left at least Jinx trying to do it can be explained as mental problems and self defense by which i mean Jinx could have killed both of them during her tea party at any time, she chose not to and only began wanting to kill Vi after she saw her trying to hunt her down
Jinx also has only attacked things with military purpose. And has made a level of effort to not harm civilians. Seeing how to her (as raised by silco) this has always been war. Her attacks are, to my admittedly limited knowledge, permissable under that context. Except the case of kidnapping and mistreating Caitlyn which is probably to the extent of a war crime.
Jinx, Sevika, and Isha getting the upper hand? You say that like it's a bad thing, which is weird considering if Vi hadn't brought up Jinx's bad memories she wouldn't have shot Silco or blew up the council
I don’t think Cait would have miss. She knows it. She is an excellent aimer. She even shot the gun away from the kids’ hand. But Vi didn’t want to risk it, but to Cait, she knew she wouldn’t miss and saw Vi just in her way or didn’t want to kill her sister.
