All I hear and read is "canucks suck, my team is better" and "why you guys making canucks videos?" and all I want to say is...why are you watching canucks videos in the first place?" I wish people just respects other fans teams and keep the comments to themselves!

    No, I believe they do help with hand/eye coordination. Maybe not in a metaphysical sense but they certainly allow for a more confident approach to sports. Hence, a being in the zone type feeling that heightens awareness. I remember while taking them being able to do many things better, from shooting baskets better to hitting racquetballs off the glass more accurately. They add a certain amount of confidence that cant be explained chemically (as far as I know)

    For example since the 1996-1997 season till today the league has had 3 teams score more than 300 goals in a season. 3 teams people, in well over a decade. During the 1988-89 season their were 10 teams that had over 300 goals and several more that were very close. To compare offensive stats of a defenseman from that era to this era is completely unfair as the league produced hundreds more goals and assists then. Even the best defensive players now struggle to get a +30 in this era.

    "You obviously didn't watch the playoffs if you think Chara looked disinterested in the playoffs. He put more hits on Staal in the series than Lidstrom has thrown in his career!"
    Staal had what, 4 goals in that series. Not bad, considering they were facing a #1 seed. Compare that to the 5 goals he had in the 7 game series against NJD and the zero goals he's had so far in the Pitt series and I'd say that holding him to 4 goals is nothing to brag about.

I mean, he's gonna lose it to either Chara or Green and that's friggin sad. I know it's awarded over the regular season, but we all know the best Dmen are made in the playoffs. And right now Green and Chara are no better than Pronger at his worst.

    "The only thing Detroit has is"
    Everything..Let's not forget Stanley Cup rings and experience, something Boston doesnt have.

  • @SeanP7195
    @SeanP7195 15 років тому

    You can't find a sportswriter who wouldn't put Lidstrom at #3 right now. You can't, and he's still got several years left in him. He would make the Hall on his international career alone. Add that to the fact his playoff career is amazing and it's easy. Yeah, Bourque had nice offensive stats (everyone did during those years) but as a Defensman, it's no contest. Like I said, find someone outside Boston who thinks Lidstrom is #4 and not #3.

He thinks he should have been Ken Holland and takes any opportunity to talk smack on the Wings (albeit he's laid-off this season). Once again, I've only heard the consensus that Lidstrom is #3rd best right now and may end up #2nd best before he retires. If you feel Bourque is better, that's your opinion and I know that it's a minority one at that.

  • @bishoppx
    @bishoppx 15 років тому

    How can you pick Chara and Green as favorites for the Norris trophy over Lidstrom? Lidstrom is the best defense the game has ever seen.
    East is definitely getting better, without doubt. But you really can't say that they're better than the West. San Jose only lost first round to the 8th seeded team mainly because of the absence of some of their top stars. Sharks, Ducks and Blackhawks all could have dropped the Pens, Caps, or Hurricanes.

    Come on now...you're better than this. The 8th seed they faced was a Cup winner 2 seasons ago and crushed the best team in the league. Inferior conference!!! ehh, not so sure bout all that. I mean, if it wasn't for NJ would the East have won a Cup in the last 15 years? What are you taking about Detroits record against?? We beat Pittsburgh one season ago! Terrible argument.

    Bwahaahahahaha the Lions. Talk about getting desperate. Look man, you are gonna have to find another outlet. Burress caught the ball, Garnet didn't deliver and "we want it", turned into, "we want it as long as it's not too hard". Yep, you have a great decade, and now that's over. The Tigers are in 1st place right now and should challenge all year. Who cares about Willis, he was a throw-in for Cabrera (who's probably the top hitter in the AL). Also, we don't go 100 years in between titles.

    "But the emergence and growth of the 3 best players in the game now (Ovechkin, Crosby, and Malkin) and the 2 favorites for the Norris (Chara and Green) and the best goaltender is Thomas (statistically), shows that the east is now tougher."
    That was your statement. Not quite the version you just gave us. You're saying they have the better forwards, goaltender, and dman (all easily debateable) and you never mentioned the West getting older (are they?).

  • @JitstaUnlimited
    @JitstaUnlimited 17 років тому

    That and the fact that Konstantinov and Lazaro weren't the first two too fight. Infact it shows Moog then goes too the fight. You see a Lazaro skating into a Ref then him and Konstantinov fight. He actually went after Konstantinov. I thought Mickey Redman was horrible but atleast when a Wing loses a fight he acknowledge's the fact that they lost. "The Goaltenders are in this one Moog and Cheveldae. The were just there trying too break shit up. Not even looking like they were going too fight.

    Lidstrom has never needed to hit. He takes the puck away from players. Look at 02 when had Betuzzi and Laraque, did they overpower him? Answer: no he onwed them up and down the ice. Big or small, strong, fast, weak, shifty, fighter, it doesn;t matter. Lidstrom makes top forwards disappear in the playoffs. Please see Rick Nash and a dozen others.

  • @bishoppx
    @bishoppx 15 років тому

    Nah, he's the best. Next to him is Larry Murphy. Bobby Orr was an offensive Dman, and can't play back nearly as well as Lidstrom. Ray Bourque? You kidding me? Top 10 at best. But Lidstrom is #1. Passing goes to Lidstrom, accuracy of shot is Lid's, breaking up odd man rushes would go to Lid's as well. Lidstrom would but up a high amount of goals as well if he played on a shitty team. But he has everyone on the ice with him capable of putting the puck in the back of the net.

    Plus, the 80's were a score a minute league and until the mid 90's it remained. I mean 50 goals was far more common then. The league screwed themselves with this trap crap, neutral zone drag, left wing lock nonsense and let the goalies look like it was Halloween. We get maybe 1 50 goal scorer a year now. You trying to tell me Ovechkin couldn't get 70 goals in the 80's and 90's.. It's basically impossible to get a +124 in Lidstroms era as the best teams can't outscore other teams that much.

  • @bishoppx

    Top 2 teams of the entire league were in the West. West is by far better than the East.

  • @SeanP7195

    I's a dumb argument. Detroit has won 4 outta of the last 12 Cups and are probably the strongest team they have had of any of those right now. Boston had a really really good regular season. To crown Boston camps is flat out absurd. Mason is (will be) the Calder winnner and a Vezina candidate and we saw how Detroit just wrecked him. Chara might...might win the Norris (Lidstrom has won 6 and should have 8 or 9 in actuality) your match-ups don't scare me at all.

  • @SeanP7195
    @SeanP7195 15 років тому

    What aren't you getting here man? The title is won in June, not January. If teams like Edmonton, Calgary, Anaheim, and Detroit were such patsies they wouldn't win Cups. As far as he Canes improving over the season..look at Anaheim. They were like the 16th seed at one point. This is beyond stretching to make a point (which you don't have). That must be why The Bruins can't win anything, they think the Cup is won in November, lol.

    What the hell got into Probert? This thing was over. In the old days, Wensink, O'Reilly, Secorod and Miller wouldn't have pulverized that drugged out thug

    As much as I hate Bahston (eat it, sox fan, j/k bro, friendly rivalry), I have to agree. I used to fear for my life going to Tiger stadium. And that's with Yankee Stadium in the Bronx! Detroit is nothing compared to Beantown as a sport city. Beantown vs. Motor City, no contest. Bahston wins!!

    I thought that the Sharks had the worst announcers of all time. Nope. These clowns are. Yzerman started it?!? This is criminal? Oh Lord. And I wouldn't say that getting your ass handed to you by Probert constitutes a good night.

    Boston always had the biggest homer announcers. Sanderson was a joke. I mean, Quintal was hangin on for his life against Probert (who can blame him) but the cheesy announcers first say the linesman had a hold of Quintal and then says at then end.. now he's got Probert down.... give me a break. Probert would have destroyed any Bruin.

    @Gameover72089 that wasnt from the confrontation with the russian; it was from the cheapshot by COKEHEADbob......

    Wow, after that game 7 we just saw you are the last person I expected to hear from. If you wanna put the Bruins history up against the Red Wings, that's your business, but the facts would state otherwise. I'm just not that impressed. I mea look how many 100 point plus seasons the Wings have had, the Cups, the division titles, etc. Boston has been a slighty over 500 teams since its inception (minus Bobby Orr being drafted at 14, which was a gift from the league).

    That locker room set up was fucked in the old gaden ! Visitors came out by the Bruins bench and Bruins under that cheap ass scoreboard made absolutely no sense whatsoever!

    @PSonak stevie did start it Detroit won the cheap shot fight but the Bruins win 4-1 on the scoreboard in this one, thats all that matters.

    Ouch, when you lose two home game 7's in two sports in one week I would be looking to compare Hockey to basketball as well.....WTF. The league gave them their rebound title, now its over.

    @Showmeyourtitties I think that's why they are Bruins announcers. Red Wings announcers aren't homers? If they're not they should be fired
