“サムライチャンプルー #14「暗夜行路 其の二」”でこの島唄知った人いる？？
昔、人生に躓いて、逃げるように旅に出ました。流れ着いたのが奄美の加計呂麻島でした。それまで、もっと遠くへ、もっと離れた場所へと流れていましたが、なぜか加計呂麻で歩みが止まりました。加計呂麻での生活が私を立ち直らせてくれました。その時は浅崎さんのことは知りませんでしたが、加計呂麻を離れ生活を立て直したある日、この曲を知りました。この曲を聴いた時、加計呂麻の夕暮れの赤や紫や黒の景色を思い出し胸が熱くなりました。

辛く悲しい事があった地を離れ、海を渡りこの地に来てまだ傷は癒えずにいる。今の暮らしも大変だけど、この美しいところで頑張っていこう。
何となくそんな風に感じました。
人間の生活が自然とともにあった頃は人間と自然とが直接に絡みあい、心から自然への感謝と畏れがあったのだろう。
水は大地を育み、大地は自然を育み、自然は水を育む。その環に動物が合わさり、より自然は強く美しいものになっていく。
森羅万象に要らないものは何一つない。全てが在ってそれでいいのだ。

この歌の歌詞はほとんどの日本人にすら理解できないのに、聴けば海外の人も一様に「とても美しく哀しい」と感じるのはとても凄いことだと思います。耳で聴いているんじゃなく、この歌は魂に響く。

奄美大島 １０数年前 仕事でしばらく滞在してました、唄者の生唄たくさん聴く機会に恵まれました、歌の意味を僕に教え聴かせてくれて哀愁さえ感じながらしみじみ聴いたこと思い出します。

奄美大島を代表する生産品である黒砂糖はかつて大変な経済的価値を持っていたことから
薩摩による統治時代はほとんど奴隷扱いで生産させられていた
土地の宝である黒い砂糖が美味すぎたために人々を不幸にした、
これはその哀しみの歌だという映像を静岡の展示で見ました。

方言は日本語体系から枝分かれした１つの言語であって、もしこのレベルの方言を話し聞き取れる人がいなくなればそれは１つの遺産がこの世から消滅するのと同じなんだろうなと思う。自分は、地方から都会に出て仕事をし、その後海外で生活してるけど、故郷に戻った時は、絶対にばりばりベタな方言を話すようにしている。みんなに笑われるけど逆に方言がベタな方言が消えていないことにホッとし、自分の心の中では満ち足りた気持ちになる。残念ながら、年を取らないとこの感覚は理解されない。だから若い人にこんなことをお説教のように話すつもりもないけど、どうか標準語に地方の訛りがある方言ではなく、ベタな方言がこれからもしっかり生き続けてほしいと思う。

プリコネのペコリーヌの思い出の曲にありそう。
昔、2003、4年だったと思いますが、LUNA SEAの誰かが夜にやってたラジオ番組で、この曲を絶賛して一曲フルで流したのを偶然聴きたとき、その時初めて聴いたし何の前情報も無かったので、これを歌ってる人が聾唖の若い女性だと勝手に思い込んで『こりゃとんでもない奴が出た』と心底震えたのを覚えています。
すぐにタワレコにCD買いに行って、その時に歌っているのがオバハンだって知りましたが、これ、ホントに若い人が歌ってたら日本の音楽業界はひっくり返ってたでしょうね。あの夜感じた『革命感』は未だ忘れられません。
