brother in Cambodia??? what's his channel? wonder if I've watched it. OH...you don't mention prices on guesthouses and hostels...I'm curious. That great priced one in Udon is double the price when you stayed there just over a year ago. It's a concern when planning trips.
My brother hasn't got a channel, but he spends most of his time in the region. There are ok rooms in Saigon still for as low as $10 USD. Yeah, in general the prices ARE going up though in the region.

I for one will be exploring pasteur st when I vist saigon next June & spend all my hard earned money that is the point isn't it as your on holiday to spend & enjoy you just have to be sensible about it. I will take a careful approach with the right attitude when entering these girlie bars & will ask prices first pay as I go using cash only. Using this strategy how can I possibly go wrong lol. The place I think I need to be more aware of is Japan town
Prices have gone up a lot in general in recent times, but those kind of places are always more expensive because foreigners go to them a lot. Of course there are locals type places too which are cheaper because the locals are not so silly as to over-pay.

As long as the hostesses there have nothing extra hidden and tucked away I guess most clients will be satisfied!

Great video how do the hostess bars work ? Is it like the girly bars in Thailand can you bar fine ? Or is it just drinks and karaoke ?
I believe the latter, though after closing time what two people might choose to do is hard to predict...
There used to be a bar called allez boo and a great club called Lost in Saigon, are they still there?
Hopefully another commenter can update us on that as my memory isn't very good.
