I think the main issue with matchmaking update is the lack of player inside the game, if u can only play with people rank as high as you, you are gonna wait for a much longer time to find opponent (if u even found opponent in the first place) since this game is pretty much dying.
I mean its not right to fight someone way below or above you, but in the bigger picture it is better than making the game unplayable.
I think they listen but they just havent find solution yet.
