Quite a lot of E46 M3 owners don't like driving with the sport button pushed for better throttle modulation, especially at the track. All the sport button does is up the sensitivity of the throttle.
1:50 Why don't you guys just order the quick connects for the sensor from SUR&R? They are plastic and have a barb fitting for a hose or plastic fuel line on them. They are pretty cheap and look OEM.
Since it's more knock resistant, ethanol should allow you to be more agressive with the spark map, gaining some hp. Have you changed anything about the spark map? Was just curious, because tuning spark to the verge of knock is quite hard haha. Also, what could help with getting some more power is getting stronger coil and/or different plugs. Stronger coils because of the octane number, yes it is less prone to knock, but also harder to fully ignite. And since ethanol burns a lot colder you can also use a 'hotter' spark plug.
Also bearing in mind, Ethanol is hydroscopic so it will pull the moisture out of the air & pull it to the bottom of your fuel tank as soon as you add Gasoline, especially in damper climates so it’s not good to leave Ethanol in your atmosphere vented gas tank.

His SRZ is what has inspired an entire bench build for a daily driver. I have several bench builds with way too much detail. Like Tommy grade detail. But I never was happy with anything for a Z build but I loved the way they looked and now I have a amazing build that I honestly could not be happier and have already started collecting parts.
That oil dipstick is living the dream with all that eargasm itb noise ❤😂 I just wish that engine could rev highter, from earing my itb rb26, an inline 6 just scream to rev !

NA's only see big power gains with etanol when it has really high compression. by the way that thing would sound awesome with high compression pistons and a lightened flywheel.
@@charlieward7606 the thing is you need a certain amount of air to make that excess in fuel burn and create more power, that is why he said you see etanol gains mostly on turbo cars. because more air equals more power. there is no point in making a mix richer and richer if you don't have enough air to make it work right. so that is why use turbos or make it NA high compression to up the air in the cylinder and be able to use more fuel and make more power.

There's less energy content in ethonal fyi, only reason it's a benefit is like u siad u can push the specs on the motor much more. Like compression, timing, boost if it's turbo. U can also fit more ethonal itself with the oxygen content.

You need to play with Methanol mixes. Brent from PFI speed was playing with some on Phongs all motor CRX and was seeing significant gains. Obviously that's on a high compression engine but possibly still see gains on your stock S52
E85 cooling properties will help in high heat. 2% I think is the number across multiple different similar content videos (Engine Masters has a good one). The more power you make the bigger the difference. Higher compression obviously is safer on E85, but that is caused by the lower volatility of the fuel. Lower volatility in this case also equates to lower energy per unit of measurement. This is why you need bigger injectors (longer duty cycle) for E85 and the decrease in fuel economy.
Jimmy, you need to get all your buddies and take out all the running cars for some photo shoots. Seems like you have so many cool cars that just collect dust when you finish them. Would love to see them like how illiminate does the group rollers. Just an idea. Keep up the amazing content!
mostly depends on compression. the higher the compression the more timing you can use without knocking, obviously to a limit. lower comp motors won't benefit from e85 unless it is boosted. N/A, it won't really help.
In Brazil, where I live, I have a car with a 1.0 liter na engine, on ethanol it gains about 5 hp, and it seems to make a big difference for me, because the engine has low hp and for me it’s worth using only ethanol on my car

Yup I was gona say that exact same thing that a high compression pistons and a built head might have more gain on ethanol but we don't use it in our N/a fully built rally cars the rich boys run race fuel upto 140ron can add 30hp to a fully built N/a but hella expensive and I think them engines won't run on pump petrol 🤙💯
The part that will be different is running temp and long term temp management will be good for bagging hard as frig with no F's to give about over heating

I got almost 40 whp on my S54 with an average ethanol of 60% that was the sweet spot.

For info - E85 has a different (read slower) flame front propagation in cylinder. This is why it sounds different, or smoother.

Stoich of e85 is also closer to 9.5:1 so hopefully Jimmy took that into account

The e85 gain is from the additional 2 to 4 degrees of timing you can run.

Always remember to chech your fuel lines in case it swolls on some critical areas like the line inside the fuel tank, it may cause leaks or worst.

Nissonda, Ew32, S15, S13, doesn't matter bring it all!! Personal favorite is Nissonda.
