Aegon shines in every episode he is in and that credit goes to the actor. His best moment was with Sunfyre. He had four seconds of exchange with him with only looks and yet people are going crazy over it. So many analysis of their bond. The actor really sold it. And the guy who played Sunfyre too was great.

He really portrayed the depth of a broken person seemingly happy on the outside but with a deep underlying pain and loneliness and really he isn't a bad person by nature (despite some other portrayals, which i find inconsistent)

Sunfyre is Aegon’s only friend 😭
IKR they really made him sympathetic. No one took him seriously or even cared about him even when he became King. Sunfyre is the only genuine bond he has.
I feel for both of them really badly. The people around him failed him greatly, and their ambition is the result of him being like this.

Its kinda sad that Rhaenyra tells this to Jace on Meraxes skull, Rhaenys Targaryen dragon from which this Rhaenys was named. Both showed dragons are not invincible. Also fun data, Rhaenys was born on the 7th of the seventh moon according to the westerosi calendar (7th of July), same day the episode aired.

i like the mistery of the song of ice and fire but every time i see this i get remberd how bad season 8 was of GOT.
I choose to believe that all these allusions to A Song of Ice and Fire are more directed towards the books. Even though this is a prequel to GoT, I like to pretend that the ending never happened.

" Unite the realm" - nah, some of the kingdoms still didnt join the fight so kingdom was not united and overall shot night lastd only for an hour :D and the fact that dragons were reborn didnt have any meaning in the end cause those dragons did nothing useful

This season really portrayed Aegon II as sympathetic, he was groomed to be a puppet and in the end no one took him seriously, or even cared about him, even after him becoming the King. Sunfyre seems to be the only genuine bond he has. That's just sad.
I could listen to Emma D’Arcy narrate my life… what a beautiful voice they have. The conviction when Rhaenyra says “Viserys chose ME to succeed him..” is incomparable 😭

@@anujdubey9023 Mysaria's line are Varys's, which is not how to book describes it. Alicent is far less important in the books than the show made her. A lot of exaggerated character buildups that became like speech. Daemon's lines are far from his character. He would have killed Mysaria in a sec. Rhaenyra is more ruthless in the books than in the show. There are other mistakes more obvious than these. I'm not going to list those. This is not a criticism of the show. As I said, I take the show as an individual separated work of art.

In GOT, the prophecy was fulfilled in Jon Snow. He was sired by both ice (represented by Lyanna Stark) and fire (represented by Rhaegar Targaryen). He was able to unite kingdoms for a common goal: to defeat the White King and his army. As a man, he is both fire and ice, for he has Stark and Targaryen blood.
This scene was so beautiful.. The acting , the music and the bond between Dragons and their riders and Rhaenyra telling about The song of ice & fire to her Heir Jacaerys.
The secret that Tragaryens told their heirs, Greens your false king and none of his siblings don't know about this, You guys are Usurpers.
And Emma D’Arcy's voiceover was beautiful too.

All the tension around the prophecy is completely lost since the White Walkers turned out to be a huge joke, killed at the very start of this so called "terrible winter." All this worrying about such a non-threat makes this whole subplot comedic

Good decision to not only consult with George RR Martin, but to have him on board as a co-showrunner - he has much more creative power over House of the DRagon than over Game of Thrones (which went south as soon as the show caught up with the books)...

Interesting that the skull of one of the Conquerors' dead dragons (Balerion and Meraxes) is present in each of these scenes. Visually and thematically tying both of them back to the days of Aegon's Conquest and the legacy he left for House Targaryen.

I still would have liked to hear her tell it, or at least start it if she was going to use her father's words, but to finish it with Jace saying he understands it might be true because of what Cragen showed him.

Forget about show, this show to me is leaning toward what gonna happen in the books since the show is just an alternative ending but not the true ending of game of thrones and who knows maybe GOT will be rebooted in a decade or two to fit George Martin ending if he ever finishes the books.

Idk what people except it to be but these prophecies are always not literal and they foreshadow glimpses of future and in future indeed Aegon Targaryen aka Jon Snow united the realm. He is THE SON of ice and fire, blood of a Targaryen and virtues of a Stark who knows the North like no one else. The Price that was promised. I love his arc and ending of GOT(literally how GRRM too wants btw), just wish it took a bit extra episodes.

It's such an interesting story. Parts of it are true, but i feel like prophecies are usually misunderstood and a lot of the times not accurate.
Uniting realms is a hard task. Aegon has his two sisters with him and dragons.
After the dance of thr dragons the Targaryeans still rulled for centuries, but their power began to wane as dragons died out.
Daenerys was basically alone. Sure she had a formidable army and people loyal to her, but at the end of the day it wasn't enough to gain the full support she needed. The song of ice and fire got lost and was told to others, but not all took it seriously.
Jon knew and was a Targaryen, but he was also a stark and grew up a Stark. And he didn't wanto be king.
Dany wanted the throne and she wanted a "good world" but she was so warped by what had happened to her. She went way beyond the 7 kingdoms. She wanted the world.
At the end of the day the kingdoms were united, but it wasnt a Targaryen that sat the throne.
It makes you wonder if Aegon felt like it should be a Targaryen because that was his dream.

I’m glad we saw her tell Jace this, others also speculated we would see it at some point, and I hope that after this we see Jace acting differently as Rhaenyra had, with the knowledge he possesses, and even connect it back to what Lord Cregan said to him about the Wall being there to keep out “death”.

@@HonkaiDaily It's actually possible that Aegon will remember, however look what happened later - his first son and heir died without issue and unexpectedly. His sceond son did not have children. Viserys II was Aegon's most trusted person and temporary heir - it's possible Aegon told his brother. BUT even if Viserys II knew, his own son had disatrous relationship with his own heir. So there is actually multiple moments in their family prophecy could got lost.
It shoudl be also noted we actually don't know wheter and how Rhaegar knew prophecy, we only persume he learnt it on his own - it's possible he knew it all along from his father. All waht is certain is that VISERYS and Daenerys did not know - which is easy to explain: neither was prepared to be ruler by their parents.

If we take this prophecy as canon, something that GRRM told Condal to include in the show, it is very likely that Daenerys will get to sit the throne before the war against the dead. That is, if we believe she is the prince that was promised.
