- Marcel "Marco" van Basten is a Dutch football professional player, who played for Ajax and AC Milan, as well as the Netherlands national team, as a striker. Widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport, he scored 300 goals in a high-profile career, but played his last match in 1993, at the age of 28, due to an injury which forced his retirement two years later.

Ich bin mit ihm aufgewachsen, sah als 10 Jähriger sein sensationeles Tor im Endspiel!! Hat mich so begeistert und die Oranje war der Grund für mich Fußball im Verein zu spielen!!! Denke heute noch gern zurück, eine Legende!!!

The best forward ever.. Tall but incredible soft technic, he was a complete striker everything you may expect from a forward, the living legend… when he was on the pitch with milan he was unbreakable… the best player of all time for me..

@@SnakePliskin762 he was on the field, but did nothing of extraordinary. I was 12 back then and i remember to follow Netherlands' team because of him. They were far bellow my expectations.
@@GuzQuebec yeah his knees where going by then. I watched them in 88 and thought the team was overrated. Without Van Bastens goals & performance they'd of been nothing.
