This video is very artistic. Acrylic is often the best choice for me as it's beginner-friendly and can be easily adapted once each layer is dry. Watercolors are the cheapest to start with and mistakes can usually be fixed by adding a little water to the paper to lift the paint off.
Great video! Is "polymer gloss medium" just Blick's name for the product? Curious to know how it might differ from say Liquitex gloss mediums? Thanks again. Very informational and inspirational.
For the purpose of this project, "polymer gloss medium" generally refers to acrylic gloss mediums. There are also gloss mediums for tempera paints which some classrooms may have, but those won't work for this project.

Will it withstand washing by hand or in a dishwasher?
Could we coat it with resin to keep it food safe and make it safer to wash?
Can you use modpodge with this as the sealer instead of the polymer medium?
Yes, Mod Podge will work as well!
