I was Muslim but now I’m a Christian . I consider myself Orthodox, I believe in Jesus Christ and he is the way the truth the life . I left Islam after I had a counter , a vision of Jesus Christ and He literally in this encounter showed me his Pure and Holy face, I felt him Heal me just by looking at him . He healed me that night back in December 2023 … since then I have believed in Christ and Experienced just a small taste of his Gift of Love . Jesus Christ Has power, it doesn’t matter that it’s been over 2000 years . Jesus isn’t dead! He is alive ! He is not just a mere prophet .. he is One with The Father of us all. He is holy and pure , and looked so pure and holy…. He was beautiful and The Light That he is .. is still here :) many other Muslims are seeing Jesus , I say to all Muslims .. Turn to him as you are , even if you’re full of sin . Say Lord I’m a sinner and need you to clean me

@@Chris-lf4srNo, as a latin christian, I can say we are the church. Believe it or not we are more strict when talking about the sacraments that the orthodox. In my place, orthodox take communion without confession or even repentance, but they do say to everyone how much they have fasted (which is a sin by the way, because Jesus says if you fast, let no one know). The orthodox also believe in divorce, which the church strictly forbids aa Jesus commanded, what has God unite, man shall not divide. I can go on on how the orthodox are not orthodox at all but it's a long long list...

@@philipgligorov5848 Hello. You said that you were the Church. Not to sound disrespectful but I would say I think it is the opposite. But what I wanted to say is about the divorce. St.Basil says ,,Second marriage is a remedy against fornication, not a means for lasciviousness. ,,If they cannot contain, let them marry (1 Corinthians 7.9).'' (Letter 160). St.Basil the Great is one of the greatest Fathers and is venerated in the Roman Catholic Church, too.

Because through wealth we will able to help the poor people and our neighbours. • @seansensei10
      @seansensei10 3 місяці тому

@gritsteel3225 what is it that was promised by Christ? What was promised by Our Lady of Fatima?
The Gates of Hell will not prevail.
The apostacy will happen, but the Church will become stronger, greater, and more faithful than ever before.
Remain faithful. Pray for the Church. Pray the Rosary daily. Pray the Prayer Rope. Go to a Reverent Mass. Hold the clergy accountable where necessary. Properly catechize the future of the Church, as the clergy has failed us since Vatican 2. The future of the church will be traditional. The youth are attending the Traditional parishes. Heresies within the clergy will be snuffed out. Showing our faith in Christ and his One True Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church will be our victory.

Cowboy from Texas - used to be Southern Baptist - but now attend a Greek Orthodox Monastery and my whole family (wife and two kids) have been baptized Orthodox. Our daughter lives at a woman's monastery and wants to become an Orthodox nun (she speaks only Greek now), and our son was recently married to an Orthodox woman. We can attend Divine Liturgy every day of the week, and Vespers (evening services) every day of the week. The Divine Liturgy is the heart of the Church, and Communion is the heart of the Liturgy - so we can receive Communion any day of the week, but of course Sunday - the Lord's Day - is our primary day of worship. We attend Matins to prepare for Liturgy, so that's 4 hours of worship. Homilies only happen on special occasions, so once a year or less at the monasteries, and when a homily is given it's simply commentary on the Bible verse they just finished reading before the Homily, so you don't hear any mention of worldly news or life issues, it's just pure worship beginning to end. The priest doesn't face you for most of the service, you mostly see their back as they lead the congregation in worship.
No performance stage, no microphones, no modern instruments or video screens - it's just sunlight and candles, even the vigils and evening services are 100% candlelight. No light fixtures or light bulbs. Most Orthodox parishes and monasteries are not designed to make you comfortable - if you become Orthodox you will understand - so a vigil, for example, can go 6-8 hours and there's no seats. If you do find a seat, it's an uncomfortable wooden seat with no padding. It's not proper to sit during most of the service anyway. Our big Pascha service goes from 11pm to 4am, and then we all eat together because we fast at least 40 days leading up to Pascha, this year it was 55 days of fasting (no eggs, meat, dairy or oil/wine). When I was Protestant, I would've fallen asleep in 30 minutes at a service in the middle of the night - but the Orthodox Church is such a beautiful experience even the little kids make it through the whole service to the feast.
We know a lot of Greek and can follow the services, but we can also attend nearby Antiochian parishes where the services are in English. It's 100% worship, you can sing from the beginning to the end and these are 2 and 4 hour services. We love the Orthodox Church, it's the most beautiful experience on every level, I literally cannot think of anything we need other than Orthodoxy. It has completed every part of our lives for every one of us. The nuns bake the bread, the monks make the wine, so even Communion is home grown, from the heart, 100% Church without getting any part of it from the world.
After Liturgy, we follow the monk procession into Trapeza and we all eat together quietly as a Father reads from the Bible or tells stories of Saints related to the day/time of year. Then we all receive the blessed bread together and head back into the Church for the last prayer. The monks make amazing food, but of course at the women's monasteries they make a wider variety of food and even desserts (the monks never make desserts lol).
Visit your local Orthodox Monastery or Parish and let it change your life. Sam is right "God meets you where you are." - God was always with me all along the way. He was with me in the Southern Baptist Church when I was playing guitar with the Pastor every Sunday. But like Sam said - we grew and we learned and so for us the draw came to enter into the Orthodox Church and we obeyed. The Orthodox Church has done such a good of being "not of this world" that most Christian conversations are about Protestant or Catholicism, few people know orthodoxy even exists. AND we have Mt. Athos - a mountain dedicated to Christ and populated only by Orthodox Christian monks since the First Century.
Nothing can pull me away from the Orthodox Church now. Like the Apostles said -- "Where would we go?" We can't go back to the rock shows, or the video screens, or the blank walls. The First Century Church still exists, unchanged, and it's Home sweet Home. I wish every Christian could experience the fullness of the Divine Liturgy and the experience of one full calendar year at the Orthodox Church because you'll never leave after that. Christos Anesti!

I was born and raised orthodox but it was more cultural and I admit people who found and became orthodox are
much more educated about orthodoxy and they appreciate it and live it than us who were brought up in this true Christianity

The Orthodox Church and Catholic Church were the same until the orthodox split away from the One True Church! Some orthodoxy Churches are inline with Peter/Papacy but those are still CATHOLIC! Those that are not inline with the Authority given by Jesus then your Church is not the true Church meaning beg that the split orthodoxy church comes back to fullness and truth of the One True Faith, if you deny that Our Lord gave the authority of His Church to Peter MATTHEW 16 then you deny the truth! But I do believe that we are bound by God Law and of His Church but God works His mercy how He wills and so if someone outside the Church doesn’t know like what Sam said then of course God shows them much mercy! Also just because the Pope we have right now is spreading teachings against the Church does not make the Catholic Church any less the true Church and the Catholic Church has survived many bad popes and also many saints popes too like Saint Pope Pius X ! But even Our Lord chose Peter to be the vicar ( vicar meaning like a representative in the place of Our Lord on earth - not that Peter can compare obviously but that Our Lord chose to give His authority on Earth and that whatever Peter bound on earth would be bound in Heaven! ) but Our Lord chose Peter even knowing he would deny Him! This shows that just because the Pope is a “bad” one doesn’t mean that we leave the boat and jump off board so to speak as we don’t go to Church for people we like but for God! Also if you see the wolves In shepherds clothing then don’t we have to pray for them so much more for their souls so that they can become good shepherds to the faithful!?
      God bless!

History doesn't support your story. The Orthodox Church is the only Church that never changed anything, proving that it's the First Century Church.
When the Latins broke away and started a new religion called Roman Catholicism after 1054AD they changed a lot of things:
      1) The RC created a new Creed that didn't exist for the first 1000 years in the Church.
The Orthodox Church is the only Church still reciting the ORIGINAL CREED unchanged.
      2) The Latins also changed the Communion bread to unleavened bread. For the first 1000 years all Christians received leavened bread for Communion, as it's still done to this day in the Orthodox Church, unchanged.
      3) The Latins changed the sign of the cross from right to left, to left to right. For the first 1000 years all Christians did the sign of the cross from right to left, as it's still done to this day in the Orthodox Church, unchanged.
      4) In the First Century Church, all the Bishops are equals. The Latins wanted to make the Bishop of Rome a special Bishop with authority over all the other bishops. They had to break away from the Church to do this because the Church wouldn't allow it.
So for the first 1000 years of the Church, the Bishops were all equals, as it's still done today in the Orthodox Church.
Everything you find in the Roman Catholic church today didn't exist in the first 1000 years.
The Catholic lie has fallen apart in the face of historical facts.
The Original First Century Church is the Church that never changed anything and still does everything as it was done in the first 1000 years of the Church. That's the Orthodox Church.

The real objection of us Orthodox Christians against the Pope is not that he is/or isn’t “The highest authority”, but the fact that he claims to be “perfect” (makes no mistakes).
No man can claim that he is never wrong…
    ONLY GOD makes no mistakes!
Furthermore, we do have some other differences too. For example, in Orthodox Church, when we go for confession, the priest never say to us “you are forgiven”. He says “may god forgive you”.
    He gives you a wish.
    ONLY GOD can give forgiveness!!!
Bottom line is that although Orthodox and Catholics were one in the past, after the schism orthodoxes remained as they were but Catholics in the other hand “evolved” into something different. The Pope thinks that he is divine and his followers also believe the same. For us Orthodoxes, this is blasphemy. Its like heresy

Fortunately, dogma/doctrine has to be written in a certain way and/or said ex cathedra. That means the pope ISN’T perfect except when addressing the body of the faithful on matters of Faith and Morals per the above.
If a pope, speaking as a fallible man, has something to say that DOESN’T contradict dogma/doctrine/tradition, then it is morally right to accept and follow such statements. (Kind of like when dad says do the dishes, it doesn’t contradict the normal flow of the home. Same goes for the pope.)
From PASTOR AETERNUS, “…We teach and define that it is a divinely-revealed dogma: that the Roman Pontiff, when he speaks ex Cathedra, that is, when in discharge of the office of Pastor and Teacher of all Christians, by virtue of his supreme Apostolic authority, he defines a doctrine regarding faith or morals to be held by the Universal Church, by the divine assistance promised to him in blessed Peter, is possessed of that infallibility with which the divine Redeemer willed that His Church should be endowed for defining doctrine regarding faith or morals: and that therefore such definitions of the Roman Pontiff are irreformable of themselves, and not from the consent of the Church. …” catholicplanet.org/councils/20-Pastor-Aeternus.htm
Nowhere does it say in the dogmatic constitution that the pope is perfect. Nor does it say that Christians have to obey EVERYTHING he says.
Now, the Vatican II document Lumen Gentium has a passage that certainly COULD be considered ultra-hyperpapalist, elevating the pope past his actual authority (as it says in the document pertaining to the “religious”). Chapter III, On the Hierarchical Structure of the Church and in Particular on the Episcopate, 25: “In matters of faith and morals, the bishops speak in the name of Christ and the faithful are to accept their teaching and adhere to it with a religious assent. This religious submission of mind and will must be shown in a special way to the authentic magisterium of the Roman Pontiff, even when he is not speaking ex cathedra; that is, it must be shown in such a way that his supreme magisterium is acknowledged with reverence, the judgments made by him are sincerely adhered to, according to his manifest mind and will. His mind and will in the matter may be known either from the character of the documents, from his frequent repetition of the same doctrine, or from his manner of speaking.”
It doesn’t specify the laity having to obey everything the pope says. Again, I said it COULD be considered ultra-hyperpapalist in terms of the religious/episcopacy.
      www.vatican.va/archive/hist_councils/ii_vatican_council/documents/vat-ii_const_19641121_lumen-gentium_en.html
For the issue of the Catholic Church not being apostolic, I’m operating under the assumption that there were opportunists who pushed for reforms in Catholicism that run contrary to orthodoxy that the Orthodox clerics on the committee of Vatican II would not accept the liturgy without a major changes.
From the Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen’s Communism and the conscience of the West” by Fulton J Sheen, 1948: “…He will set up a counter Church which will be the ape of the Church because, he the devil, is the ape of God. It will be the mystical body of the anti-Christ that will in all externals resemble the church as the mystical body of Christ. …”

About the orthodox marriage. The ideal is to get married once and whatever happens to stay true to your vows , that means even if your spouse cheats on you the ideal you would be not to get a divorce . And only for cheating your are allowed to get a divorce. And let’s say that you got a divorce and you want to remarry , then the church is asking God for forgiveness that you are remarrying. In your first sacramental marriage the priest gives you all the blessings and in your second he is asking for forgiveness. I disagree with praying to Mary only Christ can forgive sins. I understand the prayer is asking her to pray on ones behalf. But that is not Jesus’s teachings.
Revelations chapter 2 Jesus is addressing the 7 churches of Asia. Saying what they are doing right and what they are doing wrong. Jesus speaks of the church of Pergamos and praises them for their faith but points out they have fallen from the path. They sacrifice onto idols and commit fornication. Rev 2:14.
Sounds a lot like the modern Catholic Church and Orthodox Church.
Still the two churches do a lot of Good. And also historically have done a lot of Bad.

Rev: chapter 2 and 3 is good insight on what we should do when we gather as believers. Corinthians reminds us to be aware of false teachings.
Luke 11:42 when Jesus is talking about the Pharisees. Counting out 10% of their mint but neglecting the big issues.
This Speaks volumes to me follow the teaching of Christ not the religion.

However i believe the Orthodox have their hearts set on the core of the faith, that is the teachings and traditions of the church fathers. This sets them apart from the Latins, who are really from an orthodox viewpoint, a branch from the true church who have their own dogmas and ideas about what the true church is. They focus more on what their popes do and view their theology through the lens of different papal decrees who they claim is acting as the head of the church. It's true that many church fathers recognized the Bishop of Rome as a "first among equals", seeing him as a reference point for apostolic teaching. For instance, St. Iranaeus famously wrote, "Because of its greater authority (propter potentiorem principalitatem), it is necessary that every Church, that is, the faithful who are everywhere, should agree (convenire), because in her the apostolic tradition has always been safeguarded by those who are everywhere.” There are several others whose writings are filled with high praise for the Pope. However, that doesn't mean that the Pope had a V1-style charism of "papal infallibility." Even reading through some of the fathers who heaped praised on the Bishop of Rome, you find nothing about him possessing universal authority or the unique charism of infallibility "when speaking ex-cathedra." Even some Catholic scholars (notable, Brian Tierney) write that papal infallibility is an innovation. That being said, I don't think there will ever be unity between the Churches until this doctrine is done away with completely. It wasn't the pope who held things together for the first 1000 years; it was the Holy Spirit speaking through the bishops possessing the apostolic faith.

@@lynchcreekmuzzy5759 I feel like you could learn a lot about how we get distracted and tear each other down in this comment section... To my best and most honest understanding, Orthodox and Catholics do not pray TO the saints, they ask the saints to pray with/for them, or embolden and strengthen their faith through prayer. Growing up protestant, I've heard all of the slander against catholics, and the "praying to icons" thing is one of the most popular; It's just another way to attack each other and assert our own arrogant supremacy in worship, and it's wrong.
For me, one of the most important perspective to keep is this: We all agree, Jesus Christ is lord, and without question we are his flock, and we follow him... Jesus did not come to write a book, I'm not positive that he ever asked anyone to write down anything. Jesus came to spread the truth, and establish a church that maintains and continues to spread that truth of his teachings. I cannot in good faith separate Jesus and his teachings from his church, which means I'd be a fool to slander the apostolic traditions. "By scripture alone" sounds good, and I don't think it's bad, but that certainly doesn't align with the greater context of why Jesus was sent to the earth...
Thankfully God is loving, and merciful. As Sam said, I truly believe we're all a part of the flock, and we'll all be called into god's kingdom regardless of whether or not we fast, have been water baptized, or take part in communion. There are a lot of interesting things to look at or talk about, but loving, worshipping, and knowing Jesus is truly the most important thing, and if we can focus on that we'll spend far more time embracing each other opposed to debating the most correct way to worship.

Ti kanis, Sam, kala? Greek orthodox here. Since you asked and it's a sin to lie I must confess your Greek is perfectible but I appreciated the effort and encourage you to exercise. Travel to Greece, we will welcome you. Now concerning the creed, there was no filioque in the creed composed by the Ecumenical Councils of Nicea and Constantinople.
Here is the "clarification" concerning the filioque published in 1995 at the request of pope John-Paul II :
_The Catholic Church acknowledges the conciliar, ecumenical, normative and irrevocable value, as expression of the one common faith of the Church and of all Christians, of the Symbol professed in Greek at Constantinople in 381 by the Second Ecumenical Council. No profession of faith peculiar to a particular liturgical tradition can contradict this expression of the faith taught and professed by the undivided Church._
    L'Osservatore Romano
    20 September 1995, page 3
In plain English : the addition of the filioque was peculiar to a particular liturgical tradition, and is not the conciliar, ecumenical, normative and irrevocable universal creed.
As a result, the orthodox Church always professed the universal (catholic) creed. While the Roman Church professed the universal creed until 1014 and then switched for a _profession of faith peculiar to a particular liturgical tradition._ Since Vatican 2 it seems that the filioque has been progressively dropped during the recitation of the credo but I am not sure about that (anyone can confirm?).
Now why is the orthodox Church the one professing the universal creed and not the Roman Church who pretended during almost a thousand years to be the universal (catholic) Church alone?
Not because we orthodox are smarter or better but because we take what Christ said first degree :
"_But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:_" John 15:26
If Jesus said that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and didn't say the Holy Spirit also proceeds from him, who are we humans to add words in His mouth?
The Roman Church on the other hand took the habit to listen to what the Roman Pontiff says rather and therefore was less prudent than we were. And that go far beyond changes made to the Creed.
Now if you are interested I will explain how the Roman Church came to add the _filioque_ into the creed.
But this is a subject for another post..
So we have seen that the Roman Church once pretended to be the only true Church and since Vatican II Rome is saying that the Orthodox Church is ALSO the true Church. We orthodox did nothing in between so that evolution came only from the Romans. That means that Rome contradicted her own doctrine in 1962, and is now saying that her own previous doctrine was wrong without saying it.
But for us, there is a problem with the recent doctrine as well : We profess in the creed that we believe in _one saint catholic apostolic Church_ .
Not TWO of them! And, despite what Rome wants to make believe, we are NOT in communion : A Roman Catholic can't take part to the Eucharist in an orthodox divine liturgy.
So we orthodox don't accept neither of the old and new doctrines of the Romans. We believe, since antiquity, that the _one saint catholic and apostolic Church_ is the orthodox Church. Rome was once part of that Church but decided unilaterally to separate from the orthodox Church in the 11th century. The return of the Roman Church within orthodoxy is only possible if Rome embraces the orthodox faith once again. Which is not an easy task to say the least and will requite tons of humility.
But nothing is impossible to the Lord.
    Kyrie eleison.

As I said I will explain how the Roman Church came to modify the creed. The holy Creed was created as a tool of unity of the Church. This is important to keep in mind. It reflects the intentions of those who wanted to change it outside of canonical procedures.
The early Apostles' creed was completed by the ecumenical councils of Nicea (325AD) and Constantinople (381AD) in Greek. It states that we believe _in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceedeth from the Father, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets._
In 800AD the Frankish-German Charlemagne conquered and offered the byzantine province of Ravenna (including the ruins of Rome) to the pope in exchange of his own coronation as "Roman Emperors of the West". This removed the papacy from the protection of the Eastern Roman Emperor and placed him under the protection of Charlemagne.
Ten years later Charlemagne send a delegation to the pope requesting him to add the filioque to the holy creed. Such a unilateral alteration to the tool of the unity of the Church could only mean a schism between Rome and the rest of the Church, a schism that would increase Charlemagne's control over the West.
Fortunately we possess the minutes of the meeting. Saint Pope Leo II explained that he had no such power (no pontifical monarchy back then) and he nailed two silver shields to the doors of his basilica with the text of the unaltered creed (without the filioque) engraved in Greek and in Latin along with this sentence :
I, LEO, DID THIS FOR THE SAKE AND LOVE OF THE ORTHODOX FAITH.
The following popes of Rome defended the orthodox faith against the Carolingian dynasty.
The dispute reached the East and in 879-880 the 8th ecumenical council was held in Constantinople with representatives of saint pope of Rome John VIII and anathematized anyone who dares to add or remove anything to or from the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed.
This was not well received by someone and in 882 saint pope John VIII was murdered with a hammer.
      A war hammer.
      The German weapon of choice.
A period of chaos and shame followed in Rome as Germans and Italians fought to control the chair of Peter. A new pope each year. A pope exhuming the decomposing corpse of his predecessor to judge him and nullify his pontificate. When the counts of Tuscullum managed to control the papacy a scandalous period started known as the Pornocratia, or Rule of the Harlot (not the subject of this post though).
The last count of Tuscullum pope was expelled from Rome in 1014 and asked the German king Henry II to restore him. The Carolingian dynasty was already extinct by then. Henry marched on Rome, restored the Pope and in exchange the pope crowned him Emperor and added the filioque during the coronation mass on February 14 1014, self-anathematizing himself in the process.
The Germanic emperors started to impose German popes, the second of which was the count Bruno von Egisheim-Dagsburg who became pope Leo IX in 1050. At that period the Normans were invading the Byzantine province of Sicily. Leo IX landed in Sicily at the head of his army (what do you expect from a German pope?) in order to take control of the island. He ordered the local bishops to drop the byzantine rite in favor of the Latin one. The bishops asked Constantinople what to do. The Patriarch Michel's answer was to ignore Leo's demand which infuriated the Pope. Leo IX wrote a letter to Michel claiming the universal jurisdiction over the entire Church based on the Donation of Constantine he hold for genuine. That Donation is a forged imperial decree by which Constantin the Great allegedly transferred the imperial insignia to the papacy and was certainly created to justify Charlemagne's coronation.
Leo IX claimed the imperial insignia for himself and officially constituted a Pontifical State with a Senate (the assembly of Cardinals wearing the senatorial scarlet and purple) and a State Chancellor, the infamous Humbert de Moyenmoutiers.
But Leo IX suffered total defeat at the Battle of Civitate on 15 June 1053 and became hostage of the Normans from June 1053 to March 1054 and died short after they released him in on 19 April 1054. Humbert, who ruled the State in his absence learned about his death while he was traveling to Constantinople in order to receive official recognition of the newborn state by the Eastern roman emperor. The official meeting went smoothly but Humbert also delivered an insulting letter to Patriarch Michel allegedly from the dead pope in which Leo IX accused Michel to be a woman in drag. Humbert deposed also an excommunication bull in Agia Sophia accusing the "Greeks" of removing the filioque from the original creed and a few other ineptness.
Michel excommunicated Humbert in return but he was far away and the guards send to arrest him didn't reached him before he was out of the borders.
That's the story of the 1054 schism from the Orthodox side.
20 years later, Rome proclaimed in the encyclical Dictatus Papae to be the entirety of the catholic church alone, that the Roman Pontiff alone could hold the imperial insignia, that all the princes are to kiss the feet of the Roman Pontiff alone etc.
The Gregorian Reformation was on tracks and Roman Catholicism was born.
There was a little issue though : The 8th ecumenical council and its anathematization of the filioquists.
A solution was found : just remove John VIII from the list of the popes, and voilà!
So in 1476 one could read in the official biography of the popes written by the prefect of the Vatican library the following entry for pope John VIII :
_Pope John VIII: John, of English extraction, was born at Mentz (Mainz) and is said to have arrived at popedom by evil art; for disguising herself like a man, whereas she was a woman, she went when young with her paramour, a learned man, to Athens, and made such progress in learning under the professors there that, coming to Rome, she met with few that could equal, much less go beyond her, even in the knowledge of the scriptures; and by her learned and ingenious readings and disputations, she acquired so great respect and authority that upon the death of Pope Leo IV (as Martin says) by common consent she was chosen pope in his room. As she was going to the Lateran Church between the Colossean Theatre (so called from Nero's Colossus) and St. Clement's her travail came upon her, and she died upon the place, having sat two years, one month, and four days, and was buried there without any pomp._
The Protestants weaponized that fable against the papacy so in 1601 John VIII was rehabilitated but not the 8th ecumenical Council and Rome never canonized him as a saint martyr.
He's a Saint Martyr of the orthodox Church though.

I'm Catholic, but for the past few years Orthodoxy has been very attractive for their way of thinking and especially (in my opinion) the solemn and beautiful atmosphere of their Holy Liturgy. I pray for the purification of the churches, for the heretical ones to fall, and for the true ones to grow closer to the truth. I also pray for true ecumenism, that is true unity in the churches, as even Christ Himself prayed for the united of his disciplines, so that the world would know that God had sent Him. We should not condemn other believers or churches for their differences if those differences are not heretical. We should be bringing all of our closest brothers and sisters closer to the truth by encouraging them towards a fuller faith. I think that above all, what keeps us all together, surely, is Christ, and by putting Him and His will first, we are not to fear. Take heart, for Christ has won the world!

While there are significant differences between the Orthodox and Catholic Churches, there are a few misconceptions in your comment that need clarification:
Black Clothes: Both Orthodox and Catholic clergy wear various liturgical colors depending on the occasion and tradition. Black is commonly worn by Orthodox monks and priests, but not exclusively.
Purgatory: Orthodox theology does have a concept similar to purgatory, though it is not as formally defined as in Catholicism.
Indulgences: The Catholic Church no longer practices the sale of indulgences, and modern indulgences are about spiritual growth and repentance.
Church States: The Catholic Church historically had temporal power, but today the Vatican City is the only remaining church state, functioning primarily as a spiritual and administrative center.
Inquisition and Witch Hunts: These were specific historical events largely tied to the Catholic Church, but they don't define the modern church.
Pedophilia: Unfortunately, both churches have faced issues with abuse, and both are working on addressing them.
Canonizing of Sins: Neither church canonizes sins. Canonization refers to declaring someone a saint, not approving of sinful behavior.

God brought my wife into my life and she saved me in many ways. Yet I still feel called to the priesthood. Nextly, the Uniates were manipulated and strong armed into joining the Roman church. They kept their theology, liturgy, saints etc but they had to say they submit to Rome. Roman Catholic leaders in Poland, or Hungary for example forced them to submit to Rome or they wouldn’t be allowed to go to their Church services. I’m a devote Catholic who participates in the Norvus Ordo.
Catholic and Orthodox are both undeniably _Holy_ and _Apostolic,_ but both sides will exclusively claim the _One_ and _Catholic_ characteristic of their respective *_Church._*
I believe you need to AT LEAST be in a _Holy_ and _Apostolic_ Church for the *sacraments/mysteries* to be life giving *grace,* and thus remain a branch of His vine.
We have a varied teaching on this: if someone realizes and is no longer ignorant to the _One_ and _Catholic_ characteristic of the *Church* and does NOT respond by being in communion with said Church, then your soul is in deep jeopardy.
