I was arrested whilst trying to calm my abusive wife whilst she was kicking and punching me (which left marks on me). I grabbed her wrists to stop her hitting me, and I told her to - stop it. When I let go, she rang the police, lied and screamed down the phone that I was hitting her. That was basically the end of my marriage! I'd put up with that nonsense for two years ... I think that was enough! As I have very close links to the church (the best man at my wedding is a member, another very good friend is currently on the stake presidency) I've seen enough finger pointing within the Mormon church towards men for broken marriages, to last me 3 life times. I say this because as a non-member looking in, I've actually counselled couples from the church, when all didn't go well with the bishop or chosen church counsellors. Whilst I understand Mormon bishops aren't trained counsellors, when dealing with something as eternally significant as marriage, and with all the emphasis the moron church places on eternal marriage, maybe its about time they should be! Who, when watching the clip from Elder Holland, had an image in their mind of a man being abusive towards a woman? And furthermore, where was the film short of a woman being abusive to a man?
Shared this video on Facebook for others in my online advocacy work as a certified domestic violence advocate. And soon, again, I will do this work in person if my college schedule permits, next semester.
None, because from what I've witnessed from various bishops and Mormon counsellors, it's always the men's fault apparently! I have very close links to the church (the best man at my wedding is a member, another very good friend is currently on the stake presidency) but i've never joined. I think the message is very clear, but it's also clear that the message is for women who suffer abuse at the hands of a man and not the other way 'round.
This is the bestest most detailed domestic violence film I have watched and I've seen so many this needs more publicity

What kind of advice would you give a Lady who has been abused?

@@utubecomment21not always but there is no denying that majority indeed are male aggressors.
