I was a deckhand way back in the day and we tried out the first Wally tenders they introduced. They've come a long way since then. Back then they had a sales guy who was this really old British guy and he wouldn't let any of us deckhands....you know, the people that drive the tenders....he wouldn't let us drive the tenders. Anyways, these are pretty slick looking but with Pardo, Axopar, Saxdor, Sea Ray, Grady White, and now Galeon, there is some fierce competition.

I remember. I was also crew and I remember these tenders revolutionized yachting and inspired all the new competition. I wonder what the next revolution in boating is going to be when speaking of design. I have a few ideas myself ;)

@@MrYachts Obviously electric boats. I've seen a few and that's the next step. From there we also have heard about autonomous yachts which are driven by the yacht on a pre-selected route. No crew on board, just the guests to give them total privacy. I personally think that isn't a good idea. But some manufacturer is testing it. I also think dayboats like what Galeon has done with the 510 having that completely covered flybridge by having all the seats and equipment fold down, tables that stow away behind seats and transforming tables and chairs are super cool. The new foil boats that are also electric like what Candela designed is also a game changer and will catch on. The Hysucat that Bering developed is another great invention with the stability of a catamaran type hull but riding on hydrofoils built in to the center section provides great lift and great speed with great gas mileage but also allows you to use a lower hp engine for even greater gas savings. I think at some point we will see a folding portable tender. It won't be light so it's not like you can carry it around but it will take up less space and be electric. You sent it down, push a button and an on board air pump blows up the the collar tubes and as they inflate, the hull section snaps into place. You attach an electric motor and the battery is already on board. Obviously this is for people with sail boats and catamarans. Sailing kites like on some Silent 60's. Eventually they'll make a tender out of carbon fiber so it's super light, have 4 or 6 fan motors like on the Jetson One, or a scaled down version of the rotating nacelles on the V-22 Osprey, and have a flying tender. Skims above the water so nobody gets sprayed, you don't have to worry about Coral heads or reefs so you can get into those really hidden areas, you can land directly on the beach (the guests are inside the cabin so they aren't getting sprayed with sand being kicked up), and with so many people wanting explorer yachts and wanting to go to the poles where icebergs and floating ice chunks abound, you fly over that stuff and have no worries. Not saying you fly above stuff like the Icon A5, you are just like 6 feet above the water. Who knows.
