Do you know if those dampeners off Amazon would soften the pops?

I’m currently doing the same project on the same bike I was wondering if you could tell me where you got the rear fender as well as the cables for the ape bars

Javier Valle I bought the bike that way. The guys I bought it from made the fender one off.

Are you running only one throttle cable? If so any problem? Thanks nice bike

Hey, i recently switched to a single throttle cable and have no problems, only difference is the is some more play in the throttle when you turn it backwards but makes no difference when turning it the acceleration way

Hey buddy what all did you have to do to straight pipe your bike Was it just a jacket and a air filter

It was built by a custom shop. I bought it that way.

Where were the ape hangers from?

  • @dixie04
    @dixie04  11 років тому

Ideal customs in mt. Airy ga made them. They did the whole bike.

Jay mcgill I bought it that way. The shop that built it is no longer around. Unfortunately I can’t tell you where they found them.

Where'd you get the pipes took out the baffles ?

The pipes were custom for the bike. No baffles.

I'm like 99% sure I just bought this from the guy you sold it to. I'd love more info on it if you can message me -- the dude we bought it from seemed rather... mechanically illiterate.

d3adc0de are you in Georgia? What would you like to know?

    • @MyMentalHell

Thanks for replying! We're living in Alabama, but the bike had a Georgia plate on it, so the dude was originally from Georgia.
      1) Did you do/have any work on the engine itself (bored out, upgraded, etc)?
      2) Are those road burner 2.5" pro pipes?
      3) Where is that filter from (it doesn't look stock)?
      4) How much you sell it for (if that's not too personal)?
      5) Anything else technical would be amazing, I need to do some work on it so it'd help.
The bike is leaking oil like a sieve so I know it needs some serious maintenance, but it sounds clean, shifts good and its probably just old gaskets from the previous owner's unintentional neglect. The one we bought looks identical to this other than the mirrors and pipes; same year too.

d3adc0de a friend of mine's dad built it. I know it was jetted. The pipes he made himself. I unfortunately don't know the answer to anything else. I didn't do anything to it other than put the mirrors on it you see in the video. Everything else was done for me. Even the maintenance was done by my friends dad. I'm not real literate on much of that either but knew that the person who built it was the best source to work on it. I feel like I sold it for about 5k but it's been a number of years. If you ever want to sell it, I'd love first dibs. I sold it because I was loosing the space you see in the video where it was kept and I lived in a condo at the time and didn't want to keep it in the parking lot. If I'd held onto it a couple more months, I ended up buying a house that had a garage and I've wanted it back since.

I'll let you know if we ever sell it (AFTER we fix it). Its got about 40k miles on it now. We just bought it for like 2k; but needs a good amount of work.
I appreciate the info you could provide me! I'll figure it out -- I work on engines often enough. :)
