This is the only video I found with what I assert is the best denomination for the top level. And very good explanation too. What it really made the difference in my case was understanding that you can use the piramid not only for problem-solving, but to structure your experiences too. For example: even if someome has a strong goal he could fail if he doesn't develop all the required skills in order to achieve it, or if he doesn't attend the best environment from his goal point of view.

A nice and simple explanation, Dianne, with some really good examples. Thank you. I will point some of my clients at this when they want a reminder.

I can see why this model has been tossed aside by many. It seems a bit vague and questionable. For example, what is 'neurological' about the environment? I'd like to see some convincing applications of this framework to conclude whether it is worth adopting. Your example situations didn't really convince me. For example: is looking to change our beliefs and identity a realistic option in tackling problems? (They are so thoroughly-engrained.)

Isn´t it strange that so many people use a "model" that neither is "neuro" - "logical" nor "levels". There is no connection to our neurology. It is not "logical" in the understanding of Bateson/ Russel & Whitehead - meaning that each "level" is included in the one above. AND there is no "level" in that eg "identity" is "higher" than "environment. It is a list with 5-6 areas, but no hierarchy.

This model is very old and outdated. The focus now is on the quantum way of being. Much easier and faster way to improve your wellbeing.
