Then i realised the amount of pain a woman could have due to continuos bleeding for 3-4 days. Guys pls respect women and this phase of thers. Dont let ur mother, sister, wife do any work during these days, its really very painful help them in all, literally all sorts of work.

Respected Sadguru ji, To be honest I actually had the same thoughts when i started menstruating. At a glance I was imposed with certain restrictions on my house. In a house of 2BHK i was forbidden to enter the kitchen (as theirs' a small temple in my kitchen and my mom worships platform which is a symbol of worshipping devtas and ancestors.), in hall also i was told to be confined only at my bed. 1 of the bedroom is been turned up to a Library which is my father's occupation. In library too we have a small temple so yes i was forbidden to enter their too. The only place that remained was bedroom where their was nothing i could do. Soon i raised issues and got freedom to sit in library for studying but the freedom to access kitchen is still a long run. I had the same thoughts that it might gave me a break from my usual life until i was/am started treating like an untouchable, forbidden to enter 80%house, touch my mother/father/brother, couldn't eat with them during these days etc. I calmed myself by saying that maybe it's the sign of growing up. 1 day their was no one at my house and i felt thirsty to the next level. I called up my mom and brother asking when they'll come home as i was feeling damned thirsty. They were stuck at a market, they came 2hr late..that's when i realized that one should follow rituals only till the level where their is no harm caused to the society. You say of deity's, I don't feel that they would be happy seeing some girl in pain, hunger and thirsty all at a time. Very few people have those understanding like you do about menstruating women. I wrote this letter in the hope that you'll make Grown-ups in India realize the same by some other video's as well. I was only one such example who felt that this pain shouldn't just pass on to the coming generations as well. Looking forward for your response 🙏😇 Thanking you, Yours Sincerely Tanisha Agrawal.
Same at my house . Actually even if I wud touch smth my parenty say GAALIYAN to me n say horrible things. Especially my mother. Idk why is wrong with her.
I've always thought how awful for the menstruating woman to. be isolated from the rest because of this natural thing. How backward and misogynist to think that way. Thank you for enlightening me. Now it seems rather forward thinking and I think many women would love to have that time to rest and recoup their energy..
@@SubishaKr Don't follow it if you don't want to, even though scientific backing is there! I for one, would love to stay in and read all day and not go anywhere during that time.
Thanks Sadguru. At least when you speak these so called modern society keeps quite. When similar explanation are given by scholars of some other faiths, woman subjugated! Thanks again Sadguru.
I am very blessed that during my menstrual days I am free from all the restrictions. My parents are very supportive.. Even I am equally comfortable talking to my father and mother about menstrual cycle...😇
You're an amazing man. I'm going through perimenopause so mine appears when it wants, which is really frustrating. I do take a couple of days to relax when my period comes, do some gentle yoga with a nice long yoga nidra at the end, I know how to relax! 😂😂😂
Talking about giving a break to the women during her periods is fine, but I don't think women were given such breaks from their daily chores back then were politely done out of care or love. I've heard my ancestral women were said to sleep in a dark room, given a separate plate and cup to have their meals. Whoever touched them or their belongings were called impure. They weren't allowed to sleep in beds like others. They weren't allowed to enter kitchens saying that the food cooked in that kitchen will get spoilt if they entered. Such isolations doesn't seem polite or haven't come out of love. Even now I face untouchability in my ancestral home during my periods. Peoples' reasons behind such mean rules are rude and blind. No logic behind any of their reasons. These days women enter kitchen and cook during their periods, most people have changed to that. We have more way to go with the period taboos in India.
I love my periods - 3 days of complete rest - my husband cooks make food and take cares of me... My son tooo , even my firm gives an off for 3 days... Yeiii
Very true... It's not impure.... People who don't want to see face of a girl or woman on her menses must watch this. Giving rest doesn't mean untouchable. It means give rest to them and understand her pain and give her love, affection and help her get back to her days again back... Give rest. Never treat them untouchable. Untouchability in any way is a crime....
Tbh he's such a great man ! People don't understand the real pain of this cycle they just suppose that cramps , heachaches all these things are so minor but it is not!! Atleast People should care about the person whosoever have menstrual cycle atleast for 3-4 days it really plays a crucial role in her life. Thank you Sadhguru for this advice will show this video to that person who just don't freaking care about this.
i want to add something.... i am 43 now.... when i was studying 3rd, i lived in a small town near dindigul, tamilnadu.... there my neighbour was a brahmin.... i usually saw once in a while the neighbour lady just sit beyond " ulakkai" ( i dont know the english word) and never leave the place for 3 or 4 days... all household activities would be done by her husband... from cleaning , sweeping, putting kolam outside, cooking , washing everything for 3 to 4 days he would do everything... she just relax and enjoy radio, magazines, etc.... i think actually only because of half baked feminist going to make women of this nation sick and slaves by refering psedo western feninism ( not western but communist supported feminism)...
Lucky... But most of the houses it use to happen they shouldn't enter into the house, but need to do cleaning utensils, washing clothes and cleaning varandas ( the old houses got big Varanda). My mother used to do all these things. Not only my mother most of the Ladies from my place.. Sad part is that we shouldn't touch her and she shouldn't come inside the house but need to do house chores.
You non feminist care to explain why menstruating women should touch pickle or enter kitchen or even go inside houses in rural areas? isolation for their well being and total untouchability is different.
I am so lucky to have such parents who dont restrict me on my periods❤️🙏....i had just raised one question...god himself has given us this n should we be away from him itself...??...
The problem arises.... even now when the time has changed, people are not ready to change or accept the change happening in the world. The life of women has changed tremendously over these years. And even now people are discriminating women by asserting many practices in the name of tradition.
Wow! Sir I was thinking that periods are worst but now after watching this video.I am feeling lucky to be a girl I am also blessed that my family is supporting me in this time.
I was pampered during menses and was so appreciative! Rest, but take care not to remain still. Light exercise, stretching and movement help reduce cramps.
I'm a 22 years old women n all my life I had made myself psychologically comfortable in believing that I'm a human n it's my physiology that I menstruat n there is nothing unspiritual about it n had been to many temples n scared places n even prayed at my own home while I was on my period. I'm glad I had thought this n believed this when everyone around didn't made this a happy thought to me (except my mom n dad) where my 6th class girls they themselves thought its something untouchable about themselves .I hope that they all see this video n realize it's a natural phenomenon and Feel okay about it.

Lol that's I why I don't use headphones
😆
ha ha...ha. true though
True
Wow
I feel this at today's point of time also that women should get atleast 3 days off in offices during their menses
@Morsure fatale yeah probably better to shut your gob mate
@Morsure fatale probably better if your mother haven't born you and she wouldn't have so intense pain.
But if there are too many breaks for women, companies will just hire fewer women for productivity, which worsens everything.
@Morsure fatale is the classic kind of guy who won't hire women coz they get pregnant
Sarvi Srivastava some people have more pain than others, you must have less pain. I love how you are brave enough..I haven’t got my periods yet but I am not gonna stop going anywhere cause of it..as some pain cannot stop me from doing what I want
I, as a boy would like to share my experience, i never realized why women feel so uncomfortable and weak during menstrual cycle UNTIL, one day i had a boil on my inner thigh which burst out and a bleeded for almost a hour. i started feeling so so weak i could barely walk. thought for some time abt womens menstrual cycle. Then i realised the amount of pain a woman could have due to continuos bleeding for 3-4 days. Guys pls respect women and this phase of thers. Dont let ur mother, sister, wife do any work during these days, its really very painful help them in all, literally all sorts of work.
Glad someone here to understand but it does not hurts like a cut on body or any physical injury it's not expressable how does it feels but u have countineuosly pain for 24 or more than 24 hours then pain reliefs during pain it hurts a lot and it gives u 5 to 10 sec relief then starts paining again countineuosly it's kinda like that hard to explain but it's different.
I wish it was 3-4 days more like 7 :/
Respected Sadguru ji, To be honest I actually had the same thoughts when i started menstruating.
Looking forward for your response 🙏😇
Thanking you,
Yours Sincerely
Tanisha Agrawal.
Same at my house . Actually even if I wud touch smth my parenty say GAALIYAN to me n say horrible things. Especially my mother. Idk why is wrong with her.
Same happens to my sister, but when I questioned my mother, everything I got is, nothing but "this is a woman issue that men don't understand."
@@AAAqwerty good that you question. Later when you have family and daughter of your own, dont do this to them
I laughed so so hard when he said spiritually u can't have menstrual cycles that is only physiological aspect ... 😄❤💗

I've always thought how awful for the menstruating woman to. be isolated from the rest because of this natural thing. How backward and misogynist to think that way. Thank you for enlightening me. Now it seems rather forward thinking and I think many women would love to have that time to rest and recoup their energy..
Lol anything in the name of reviving old culture would sell these days.
simple cooking Wrong. Most women who were housewives enjoyed their off time 3 days every month and most men learnt to cook excellent food.
@@SubishaKr Don't follow it if you don't want to, even though scientific backing is there! I for one, would love to stay in and read all day and not go anywhere during that time.
Guruji,I'm addicted to your vedios..I get peace of mind whenever I listen to your speech..
The comment section made me cry 😭♥️
Absolutely 💯 why do people do not understand such a small thing! We are born from that! How could it be impure!?
I am a student.... When i am in periods i can spend a whole day in listening devotional songs and kirtans.... Sometimes i feel blessed for that....
You're an amazing man. I'm going through perimenopause so mine appears when it wants, which is really frustrating. I do take a couple of days to relax when my period comes, do some gentle yoga with a nice long yoga nidra at the end, I know how to relax! 😂😂😂
This message to the people in India so apt..people even today think it's untouchable thing woman r to be respected for who they are
How beautifully he has explained everything
This made me feel like crying. I wish women today had this
Jnani as our guru...🙏🏻 it’s so true we need rest by keeping away for a while...

I am lucky, that my family is so open about periods, i even go yo the pooja room if i want to.
Yeah me too....
My parents and relatives are too open minded people🙂
That was beautifully explained. Thank you so very much. Following you from Tobago in the Caribbean. Would like to spend one day just one day with you.
Makes perfect sense to me. A welcome explanation 😊
Hinduism is an advanced and knowledgeable religion so there is no need to blame our own perceptions and stigmas on it jai baghawan 🕉
I love my periods - 3 days of complete rest - my husband cooks make food and take cares of me... My son tooo , even my firm gives an off for 3 days... Yeiii
Unbelievably wonderful!! Lucky Woman
Which firm do you work in🙄
Where do you work?
Absolutely He is so great !!! wise words!! Vast knowledge !!!
Work from home during periods is so relaxing.
Great Indian kitchen, the malayalam movie perfectly explained this. Brilliant movie from Kerala, worth watching 👍
With English subtitles?
Wow! Sir I was thinking that periods are worst but now after watching this video.I am feeling lucky to be a girl I am also blessed that my family is supporting me in this time.
I can’t believe that this is a real question. I hope no one really thinks this that would be shocking really
Peak of clarity.. Sadhguru
Such sensible words,Intellectual expression
A dignified vision 🙏🏻
Upward force acts in temple which is unhealthy during periods nothing to be proud of u entering temples and harming ur future babies

Yes sadhguru!! Very good advice! Thank you for your time, well spent.!! Thanks again!!
Much awareness is necessary all over the villages of India. So women get clarity to lead norma normal life.
This awareness has to spread all over. Still the educated ones are following the taboos. It should break.
Honestly, period leaves should be mandatory, it's hard those days
@@gaaanaaa can't i even have an opinion.
I am only taking about companys, educational institutes like schools and colleges is where we should begin with. The world has become a bigass business that just goes on without caring for anyone. The world rn is the most inhuman thing ever. We just work for some rich men in the world, we are all workers of them.
Things have to start somewhere. Yea it will difficult in the beginning, it's obvious, what's new. But if we don't wanna charge, we won't change, that's all.
@@velerina2017 women (feminist) demand this themselves (no holiday)
@@hemantsarathe8970 what dyou mean?
@@velerina2017 yeahh start this in schools- you come to school to attend the 5th class of a lesson...and boom! Your teacher is absent for 3 days. And don't you get it that it's not like pregnancy leave? Pregnancy time range is predictable and arrangements can be made months before and a girl gets pregnant once or twice in her entire career, also, all women don't get pregnant at the same short amount of time. But period date is not exactly predictable, it occurs every month and every girl! Think about the randomly empty offices if every girl starts taking period leaves at random times of the month!
@@saptaparnidatta2403 every school has 2 - 3 teachers for every subject. Why is education and school above everything. We don't have to quit everything, even our necessities to learn. The system of education and school isn't perfect, so don't give up your basic care, don't give up yourself for it, even if it was perfect, don't give up

And yeah.. The comment section made me cry 😭
I was not knowing this so far and it is very obvious that majority of the population do not know about the science and the practical reasons about it but now i think so out side the temples there should be board explaining it correctly in a right context so that our women do not take it in a discriminated way.And as indivisual everyone should make sure that we should educate our upcoming generation about this in a very subtle way and at the right time.
😇😇 love from 🇳🇵🇳🇵

Yes,rest is absolutely required but only because of discriminatory process, women are offended.
We want Menstrual leave!
But it should not be compelled on women.
Women who are willing to work during menses...let them !
Those who find it difficult, should not be forced to work.
I love him..i just hate the fact that they make you feel like untouchable of certain things…thats why I searched for this …andddd sadhguru literally made it so wonderful to listen 💯 non-discriminatory
Namaskaram Sadhguruji aapki kripa hamesha bani rahe thanks 🌹🙏🏻🌹🙏🏻🌹🙏🏻🌹🙏🏻🌹🙏🏻🌹
Many things people changed... But this four days are treated as untouchable evenafter these many years. People got educated but still follow only discriminatory process even in these generation... Thanks for clear clarity to make understanding way...
Mensuration is for a good reason that is to give birth to another so I don't think periods is a big problem to visit to temple 🙂🙂
There were no pads then..if it drips on the ground then it might mess up consecrated energies in the temple. Also, people go barefoot in there.
I am so here for this now. I subconsciously do this already. I prefer to be alone and not required.
Even my mother doesn't allow me to enter temples...I feel bad...coz this menstruation is soo important for this birth process..... But my very good friend who's a boy comforts me in those times and he says - "It's fine!"...that adds strength to me!!✨😊
