Another awesome video. Full piro tick-tocks are my favorite trick. Huge full-piro rainbows aren't just a great drill, they can be a real crowd pleaser. The secret/difficulty is picking the correct yaw rate at the beginning and NEVER correcting. Even non-heli people can appreciate this slow and suspenseful move when it is done well. Note that when doing a full-piro tick-tock as fast and as tight (front to back) as possible, you do not stir the cyclic stick. Instead, the stick movement becomes almost completely left/right (aileron). Doing full-piro tick-tocks really low will put hair on your balls. To learn how to do this safely, you have to be able to quickly go perfectly flat at each tick or tock if necessary. This turns out to be slighty harder than it sounds. .
Superb response as always Nick, totally agree with all of it. And keeping the model flat instead of skewing makes such a difference when you start adding aggressive collective for the throwdowns and short rainbows. If it's not flat, it'll move all over the place.
Richard, your level of control, knowledge and instruction is impeccable. As daunting as this manuever is, I was comforted when you said it may take a considerable time to learn, because I was just saying to myself that this is probably going to take me atleast a couple years (or more). I will begin this journey immediately. Thanks so much. Cheers.
Thanks, much appreciated. You've got it totally right. Starting with the drills now will help you with loads of moves, even if you aren't ready for piro tictocs yet. And makes it so much easier when you got solid basics and are ready for PTTs.
As always your explanations and demonstrations are exellent! I hope to get there in 2028!! Merry Christmas and all the very best for 2025, Richard!! Greetings from Poland!!
Thank you so much Richard, Amazing videos, I think your tutorial are the best specially now you break down the maneuvers, this will be valuable for generations, I not been flying my Helis for years, and I’m back but struggling with setting up the sim, and I could fine any videos on how to setup the simulator, specially RF & HELI-X, can you make one showing your preferred settings
I use Heli-X mostly. I haven't really used RealFlight since they came out with Evolution and the new menu system. Honestly, there's not much to set up. Once the radio is calibrated and you can switch between flight modes, it's just a case of choosing the right flight mode. I find I can pretty much choose any heli and flight mode 3 is perfect for me. You might find 3 is too aggressive and prefer 1 or 2. The only other thing I do is zoom in all the way, but I guess it depends on your setup. I'll see if I can create a short video in the next week.
You have have to fly it, there aren't really specific stick changes to get it to do that. I did another video on tictoc rotations, but I can try and answer it in the next video. ua-cam.com/video/L4Y0w9pthm0/v-deo.html
@@3Davy Ah, OK. I'll to do another video on it, but basically I change the direction at the ends rather than as it's travelling between ends. It's much easier to give it a little aileron when it's at the end of a toc, and then it will initiate slightly turned.

Excellent tutorial again, a big thankyou for including the mode 1 stick movements..a game changer for me!
Awesome, I was hoping someone would like that I included that 😄
Thanks!
Thank you, I really appreciate your support! 🙏
Thank you

Thanks Matthias. Merry Christmas to you too, and thanks for all the great videos this year!!
@@rchelicopter Thank you so much, Richard!
Always liked this manoeuvre,I think it's from watching some of Duncan's music flights where he would incorporate them to great effect.
Yes, he always used to say he preferred these and used to do circuits with them. Very cool!
Knocked it out of the park again, Richard. Great video👍
Thanks again! Glad you like it.
Awesome video, I'll have to try the 4 way rainbows, and the piro rainbows to see if I can perfect my own piro tictocs. :)
And the Anaconda. Really interested to see that one 😂
Great video as always ! your videos are inspiring a lot pilots to learn a new maneuvers . Thanks Richard!
Much appreciated Rami, thanks for posting the question in the Hangout. BTW, who was the pilot in the original video?

Hey Richard what are you doing different to bring it in a 360 at the end of the video?

@@rchelicopterOké Thanks.Th one you post is in real life without stick movements.
@@rchelicopterYou have to do something different no?
