An amazing book, I'm only on chapter 4 and who would have thought Fungal life was so mysterious and fascinating, the other thing is the prose the book is BEAUTIFULLY written.
The contrast between the calmness of Merlin and Helen Macdonald's aggressive speech tonality distracted from this talk for me.I suggest if she continues to be an interviewer that she listen more to this brilliant gentle man. Also, there was an echo which added to the difficulty listening to her. Sorry to be so negative.
I don't see this at all. Indeed, she is asking some of the best questions I've heard anyone ask about this book, and she demonstrated great respect for Merlin and his book. She's a bit nervous at first, and she isn't soft-spoken as Merlin is, but that's a natural difference between people. I see no aggression. I see enthusiasm and curiosity.
