  • This is a revised and re-uploaded video; I forgot some footage on the previous version
    The Enchanted Forest trail begins shortly after the start of Apex trail, and runs through the unusually lush forest accross the creek for about a mile and a half before rejoining Apex. It's a fun alternative to upper Apex; fast, flowy and mildly technical in a few places. Unfortunately, I am reluctant to recommend it due to the high amount of foot traffic, even late-morning on a Wednesday...

    An awful lot of dislikes on this particular video... If you're going to dislike, how about leaving a comment why?

      I'd be willing to bet it's the music. I was immediately put off by it. I think with videos like this, most people just prefer the natural sound of the ride/trail/bike etc.

      I considered that, except that I use this and similar music in other videos that don't get dislikes, at least no more than my videos without music. This video in particular is by far disproportionately disliked compared to my others... I think it is hippy hikers, as this is a controversial trail where access is concerned. In fact, even in the middle of the week during business hours, I have never seen so many hikers on a 2-3 mile trail.

      Nah, that guy couldn't care less that I was behind him, and showed no signs of interest in letting me by (had you been there in person, you'd have noticed that his head never moved or anything). If someone comes up behind me, letting them by becomes my priority, and I at least acknowledge their presence, but he was in his own world. There was plenty of space on this section for him to move aside, and if I wanted to be a prick, there was even enough for me to just pass... instead, I elected to just stop, let him do his thing and give him some time, especially since I had a friend behind me. You could be right about the Texan thought, as Coloradoans are funny that way, even though most of them are transplants... regardless, I generally don't think it's mtbers doing it, because they are usually pretty good (or bad?) about calling out things they don't like. I think it's people looking at popular hikes and don't like seeing bikes on "their" trails... I just would like to see someone own it.

      "Sped up video", eh? I'm flattered, lol... and what's your problem with Texas? Sounds like you have some issues... now go get ready for bed like your mom told you.

    7:54 - "My glove ain't supposed to be sweaty in Colorado"... it is when flatlanders are sucking wind at altitude! LOL (Totally, kidding... I was born and raised here and still seat my balls off on these trails as I'm huffing and puffing.) Great video - I'm watching it as I'm stuck inside while we wait for the trails to dry out from our snow storm a few days ago :/

    Most people are being salty because Coloradans typically do not like tourists, especially those from Texas or CA, and even more especially those that stayed. Like me. I’m from Katy, TX. I still get shit for being here, even though I did it twice (first time failed), work hard, contribute to the local economy, and pay my taxes.

    I thought they alternated odd and even days for MTBers and hikers?

    • @Gotdurt
      @Gotdurt  3 роки тому

      They do for bikes, hikers can hike any day.

    Nice video! About how many miles is it downhill? Also what are the trail rules for even number days or something? Thanks!

      Apex itself is less than 3 miles, mixed with Enchanted Forest I think it was around 3.5 miles total, but there is a *little* climbing on Enchanted. Uphill only on odd days.

      Doing an internet search for Apex-Park-Map should give you the info you need. Yes there are strict rules for directional travel. Please obey these if you come here to ride.
