That harp that plays during the first water throw, reminds me of that song "The Rain, the park and other things" by the Cowsills. That's pretty cool.

Amazing! I got sucked into Robert and Fred's World of Washers from the Obsessions TV show.

Wow, this is one of the most unique videos I've
ever seen!Haha it's just totally crazy!
Also, you're a pretty smart dude to make it all
    computer controlled, that's wild man.

@peanuttherat He built it himself from discarded Frigidaire washer parts I believe. It wasn't one you could buy anywhere, it's a one of a kind custom job.

I wonder if this absolutely incredible custom mechanical marvel was improved further than it was in the video, the balance sensor was a very good idea for the spin. And btw Robert, you practically invented PowerWash before Miele did. 10 whole years before they did ;)

Actually that is not true, Hotpoint washers did that all the way until 1974 and early versions of the Apex, ABC-o-Matic, Kelvinator and Beam designed automatics did that as well.

Were the cycles changed at all or is this the original sequence of the machine, just set to computer? I LOVE the harp music... I also LOVED how much it sprayed onto the clothes during the spin cycle. My modern machine doesn't do that.

Who knew Whirlpool Calypsos adopted the wash action from Frigidaires of this era?

I'd like to know how the muti-matic worked
Ŵas it still based on the Unimatic or an early Roller-Matic design?

Only in Frigidaire washers is water actually extracted into the cabinet.

I worked in an appliance back in the '70s that sold Frigidare. They had this cool handcrank demonstrator of the "rollermatic" mechanisim on the counter (I wish I had it now!) When did Frigidare switch to this type of transmission? It seemed pretty simple but was it dependable?
Very impressive spin speed, beats my front loading Samsung by just a little!
