For those wanting to attempt this project, I wouldn't recommend this for particle board unless the doors have a solid-wood frame or edge molding. Particle board is fine for dressers and cabinets but it's not suitable as load bearing doors since it is both heavy and fragile. Mending braces are good but for additional support you'll want to include a pocket hole jig, short pocket screws (to prevent poke-through) and Wood glue, all of which can be bought at your local hardware store for around 15 dollars. Great video btw.
@RepurposeandUpcycle Thank you for your video! Our project went great and it is os much better than our old bi-fold doors. Wish I could attach a picture :)
Yes! Our bifold doors are always always off the track! Going to give this a shot!
It worked for us!
Thank you so much! This is an easy project that we plan to do over Spring Break!

Exactly what I was looking for. I'm going to replace the doors to my furnace room. Excellent tutorial. Thanks.

So you didn’t have to do have mortising? I’m wanting to do the same thing with my bifold doors but don’t want to have to do any chiseling 😂
