Vegan Sweet and Sour Tofu

    Note: Press the tofu for approximately 15 to 30 minutes.
    • To remove the excess liquid, press the tofu between a cheese cloth and sheets of paper towel then place a heavy plate on top.
    • By pressing the tofu, it will allow the tofu to absorb all the flavors of the ingredients. The texture of tofu will also be crispier.
    Crispy Tofu
    • 1- 16 ounce block of firm or extra firm tofu pressed
    • 1 tbsp soy sauce
    • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
    • 1/4 tsp sea salt
    • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
    • 1/3 cup corn starch
    • 1/4 cup oil
    Sweet and Sour Sauce
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar (or your preference in sugar)
    • 1/4 cup ketchup
    • 1/4 cup rice vinegar (regular vinegar can be used as well)
    • 1/4 cup water
    • 1 tbsp soy sauce
    • 1 tsp garlic powder
    • 1/2 Red bell pepper chopped ( or 1 whole)
    • 1 can pineapple chunks
    • 2 bulbs of shallot bulbs (or 1-medium red onion chopped)
    • 1/2 tbsp sesame seeds
    • 1 green onion stem -chopped
