    Great Video, thank you. I am very proud to make it in it. Even if i was the victim for Loïs Forster for most of the time.

    That looked so awesome! Glad to see you guys releasing more content after all the tech problems. Shared around with some of my fantasy author friends and gaming groups. In my own games I've got people describing their combat now with more martial explanations which is really cool.

    Do you ever debate the safety detriments VS effective combat benefits of rigging a sound system into your armor to blast OMERTA while you fight? I know it's a *bit* of an anachronism, but hey, I'm sure there are many things we could learn from doing such!
    These are truly the important questions.

    Could anyone direct me to a source, or a name for the breastplate style of the fellow fighting Reece @ 4:42 ? That armor is SWEET!

    • @macsniper1337
      @macsniper1337 4 роки тому +2

      Bryce Newtson IIRC this is Isak Krogh, and the source is a statue of St, George from the church of Nördlingen, made in 1462.

    I wonder how the much the average cost of the armor is that these guys are wearing...

    • @SharkWrestler
      @SharkWrestler 4 роки тому

      Don't be afraid elitists, they'll put the idea into your head that a harness will cost you 10k or else you're lower than them. If you put hard work into your kit and can make some cheap items work using the right tools then it can cost you around 700$ for the full thing. These guys have some real nice kits though so the average is probably high.

    • @pursuingtheknightlyarts6841
      @pursuingtheknightlyarts6841  4 роки тому +3

      It depends. Several were custom made by armourers, some people made theirs themselfs, purchased second hand, etc. You can do it on the cheap if you shop around and do your research. We plan to create some videos discussing that very topic, so stay tuned for that. -Reece

      What are your thoughts of Helgi's armour or Forge of Svan?

    • @BryceNewtson
      @BryceNewtson 4 роки тому +3

      You can get a functional and protective set of full plate, "made to measure" from Ukrainian armorers for around 2-4k depending on materials and design. True fitted armor costs a lot more. Of course, the sky is the limit if you want to fight in painstakingly reproduced museum replicas with ornate decoration from famed European smiths. I would guess the average is in the neighborhood of 5k.

    • @krystofsamal7067
      @krystofsamal7067 4 роки тому +3

      What I had there was about 1700 euros worth, made to measure mostly by Armour Vaněk in Czech republic. And I''m missing legs...and a lot of other stuff. :D
      There is bunch of great smiths out there.
      In any case, if you are deciding to get a suit, start with deciding what exact style and period you want, then build the basics -civilian clothing, undergarments, arming doublet, mail parts. Without these being proper,any upper layers of the kit wont be working well, And even measured well. I did my fail here with the mail...and it's pain in the butt to get it right now, with all the plate. :))

      The Lining of my Helmet had a problem and the hit on my Helmet was nearly not stopped at all. Following the rules of this kind of fights, my opponent don't have to stop, the referee had to seperate us.
