1:28:18 This breaks my heart and frees tears from my eyes every time. Kirito has given everything to save Asuna from this purgatory. She is free now, but he will be without her, his everything, for the next 200 years. Strength flees from his limbs and he collapses to his knees as tears swell from his eyes. Tears fall to the stones where his gaze rests low, as he can't even lift his eyes now that his purpose for living, his spirit, her; is gone. "Asuna". But then a shadow is cast, a voice is heard. "Kirito Kun". He looks up, and there's an angel standing there. "I could never leave you behind", she says. She's given up everything else to be with him. I want to love someone like that. This scene brought forth that part of me again, that pain and loneliness, the desire to be loved for who I am, of longing for something profound, someone to give my heart and soul to. Maybe part of the reason I was inconsolably bawling when I first saw this is that I know such a love is impossible: a fiction. It's something I can never have, a place I can never reach.
Fun fact: SAO Light Novel Volume 1 already have Kirito on floor 74 and the story moves forward with some flashback about the first day of the game. Even later volume before alicization are mostly consists of side stories. It's the anime that rearrange the strory into chronollogical order.

They should do an aincrad beta arc, it would be awesome to see kirito's adventures in the beta phase, this could become his training or experience arc as this is where he learned most about the game.
38:38 ok while I agree that they had lots of unnecessary things in the ALO arc, I will say this about Asuna being a “damsel in distress” that people seem to forget about. *1.* She is in a game that was meant to be a trap for her, *2.* With what Creepy Basturd Fairy King told her of how he could easily alter her if he wanted to to make her his(plus the previous point), we can assume that means that she CANT escape even if she wanted to. Remember her vision was blocked when directly looking at the passcode for her cage? Plus the only time she tried to escape she was caught immediately. And the only reason she could escape was cause if the mirror, *and 3.* she doesn’t have her skills at all from SAO, like Kirito, nor could get stronger, like normal players, so she can’t fight her way out. I’m not justifying her being “OOC”, I’m just saying that keeping in mind that she is in a VR game in an area that is tailored for trapping her I can see why she is the way she is in the game. I do think that the ending with the defeat of Overon could have been better tho. The m0lesting scene was really unnecessary.
I mean, I highly doubt War was the final season/arc. It definitely didn’t end the season like it was over. Plus SAO is one of the most popular anime’s of all time so I would say at the very least it will go 2 more seasons. I mean if shows like One Piece and Naruto can go on for 200 seasons plus spin-offs I’m pretty sure SAO can make it at least 5 seasons.

47:22 You did Yuki and the Sleeping Knights dirty. That was one of the most touching things. A group of people with biological death sentences. I think Yuki had Aids so she was bed ridden, anyways it was a touching story that actually didn't focus on Kirito. As far as I know, this was the only arc where females, Asuna and Yuki, are the lead.
Idk if it’s real but based on the Web novel apparently Kirito’s first love is Sachi, which is why almost every time he remembers death the first thing that comes back to him is the memory of seeing Sachi’s death. I guess it’s why he’s so afraid of someone close to him dying Also pretty sweet that Kirito and Asuna took a frontline role in Aincrad on the floor boss to access floor 23 just to be able to get to the honeymoon cabin before anyone else can
@@joeupchurch4689 no one. I'm just stating facts. Dual wielding wouldn't have helped Kirito because he wouldn't have been able to use the sword skills like starburst. 13:40 If only going based off the girls in SAO, his waifu would have been Lisbeth. Silica didn't spend much time with him, Sachi died, but he always spent time with Lisbeth cause he always went to her for equipment repairs and such. I mean, he even told her about his unique skill before Asuna, soooo, Lisbeth is most likely. If considering all the girls up to ALO 2, It'd probably be Sinon though, assuming he didn't get with Lisbeth in SAO. The reason for this is cause they simply a better dynamic duo than him and Asuna, and they helped each other get over their respective traumas. Add in that he literally ran to her apartment to save her life and you've got a great start to a relationship. Suguha is excluded cause Kirito never had any interest in her anyway. Frankly, even in ALO 1, they were acting more like siblings and friends than possible romantic partners. Or at least, that's my opinion.
@@rene837 As an Isekai, SAO did a really good job, i think Animes like Log Horizon, Overlord or Re;Zero did a better job, but in a different way. SAO would be a really great Anime if they would have focused more on the world of Aincrad and not only the relationship beetween Asuma and Kirito. 13 Episodes for SAO wasn't enough and after that the plot of "If you die in the game you die in RL" was destroyed and the Anime ruined his own plot. 25 episode with more details to the world of Aincrad, maybe a leveling session or more character development episode and SAO would have been really great. @shanks the scarlet emperor Progressive is a part of the main story as stated by Kawahara himself and it can be seen in the story for Unital Ring, and heck, even tiny bits of hints can be seen in the Alicization novels. he has gray eyes so everyone laughed at him in his childhood teasing him like”haha you’re and anime character only they have those eyes” so he became one.
Kirito is probably the most underrated main character in anime. It’s amazing how many people don’t get Sao and Kirito. They’re basically the “WHAT?!” Guy in Sao Abridged.
I still believe that the 3 who died at floor 75.. or atleast asuma and kirito... was because Klein had the revival item. It was never said to be a one use item.. and from accel world you could piece that Kleins will auto activated the item.. but we also never see if he got to them in time to use the item.. so either is an option. But I fully believe they lived because of that item
While I do agree that Suguha and Silica aren't exactly too similar... That's the Suguha WE know, Kirito could be reminiscing about the Suguha he knew before he shut himself out from her, which would have been a younger, more childish Suguha, possibly more similar to Silica herself. Also, I'd say if Sachi hadn't died, she could have been Kirito's love interest instead of Asuna, but I'm not 100% sure about it And, during the Fairy Dance arc, Kirito was trying to distance himself from "The black swordsman" of Aincrad, that's possibly why he picked up one big sword instead of two smaller ones, as an attempt to not be that Kirito from Aincrad. Bringing the floating castle back? Well.... that's a weird one, literally, it will forever serve him as a grim reminder of all the pain and suffering.... maybe he's a masochist? And Eugeo being dead..... kinda? I mean, yes, Eugeo most definitely died, but he also fused himself with the Blue Rose Sword, so I'd say, in a manner similar to Alice Schuberg appearing and interacting from within Alice's piety module, residual data from Eugeo, along with some of his memories and personality, possibly stayed within the sword, so it wasn't Eugeo helping Kirito win, it was the sword itself after becoming an extension of Eugeo's body and will. Also, it was pretty great to see Kirito power up through the power of friendship, launch his signature technique and loose an arm as it's stopped short. Heck, the whole incarnation system makes things weird... Since it can more or less accomplish anything as long as enough willpower is present. This system is not entirely exclusive to Underworld either, it's apparently part of The Seed? Underworld's the only place powerful enough to properly utilize it, but it's present throughout the entire series (like the final battle against Kayaba)
That was long. Good, but Long. I wonder if the writers made him crippled/comatose in the last half, because of how OP/Invincible Isekai Protagonist he was in the first half. Trying to balance him more, so he wouldn't be a Boring Invincible Protagonist. Fairy Dance would have been better if Kirito had struggled a little more learning to fly and the final boss being a brainwashed Dark Titania/Asuna instead of that pathetic molester Oberon. Oberon's slaughter was fun and deserved, but there should have been a decent "Dragon" Fight.
Kirito only became like that in WOU due to all the stress, trauma and PTSD which has been a theme in his character since the start of S1 with Eugeo being the trigger to his comatose state not cause "lets make him not OP". Agree with your take on Fairy Dance though a Dark Asuna would've been much better.
I think they did it because it was time for everyone else to save him for a change lol also he went into a comatose state because that madiki thing kinda fried his brain when the bad guys cut the power to it.
@@ladyfibonaccii It wasn't the main reason nor intention, he was comatosed as it was the culmination of all the trauma and PTSD he had been collecting even since the First Day in SAO up until Eugeo's (the person he saw as brother more than anyone else, especially since they grew up together in Underworld) death. That was exactly why the nightmare sequence hit so hard, he finally showed the deep effects everything had on him to such an extreme degree since Day 1.

They should do an aincrad beta arc, it would be awesome to see kirito's adventures in the beta phase, this could become his training or experience arc as this is where he learned most about the game.
I have absolutely no idea what happened after the Gun Gale Arc… as long as Kirito and Asuna get their happy ending that’s all that matters!
I suppose if they're trying to hammer home how bad sexual battery is, they did a great job.
But I'm not sure why they actually put that in there.

Idk if it’s real but based on the Web novel apparently Kirito’s first love is Sachi, which is why almost every time he remembers death the first thing that comes back to him is the memory of seeing Sachi’s death. I guess it’s why he’s so afraid of someone close to him dying
Also pretty sweet that Kirito and Asuna took a frontline role in Aincrad on the floor boss to access floor 23 just to be able to get to the honeymoon cabin before anyone else can
That is correct, but the LN retcons that. The LN makes Asuna his first love, and SAOP further solidifies that.
Kirito was close to beating Zekken, but then time ran out.
He was also holding back as asuna said he never used his dual wild sword against her

13 Episodes for SAO wasn't enough and after that the plot of "If you die in the game you die in RL" was destroyed and the Anime ruined his own plot. 25 episode with more details to the world of Aincrad, maybe a leveling session or more character development episode and SAO would have been really great. Man I’ve been waiting for this video forever you gotta do asuna too
That video will be amazing when progressive is done.
Bruh sao made me a weeb like I honestly can’t wait till something like this would be possible
While I do agree that Suguha and Silica aren't exactly too similar... That's the Suguha WE know, Kirito could be reminiscing about the Suguha he knew before he shut himself out from her, which would have been a younger, more childish Suguha, possibly more similar to Silica herself.
Also, I'd say if Sachi hadn't died, she could have been Kirito's love interest instead of Asuna, but I'm not 100% sure about it
And, during the Fairy Dance arc, Kirito was trying to distance himself from "The black swordsman" of Aincrad, that's possibly why he picked up one big sword instead of two smaller ones, as an attempt to not be that Kirito from Aincrad.
Series blows
