Ladies and gentlemen this is more than information and entertainment..... This, this is inspiration, how dedication and love can overcome life's obstacles. In a game of inches use every single one and never give up.
August, I know that was a whole of work but, you and Damien once again make it look easy. 😉👊 Hope your back is feeling better. Keep yourselves safe! 😃👍❤️🌲 Randy
After you said you had the famous Covid, I immediately thought of your family and you as well. So glad you are on the mend! Take care and don't take chances during recovery. This can still be a very dangerous time. Really glad you are back! Nick, North West Farmer
Definitely worth the 44 minutes, August!! Beautiful job, and thanks for the great narrative/explanations. Cut a lot of trees, but not in tight quarters like that!! And GOOD to see you getting up to speed after the 'bug'! Take care!
You are truly a master. At the very last second you could see the tree want to roll to the right. Without the proper cut it would have hit that fence. I always enjoy your videos and explanation of what you are doing. I have learned a great deal from your videos.
What a team August. When you get up that high and guys below look like ants, my stomach is up in my throat. Up at the very top your cutting so close to you ropes that I bite down so hard my teeth hurt. Great work August!! Be safe...
The bundling is one of the absolute game changers about the zip line kit. We don’t always have the room to zip either but the speed of work stays up with the many limbs at once. Fantastic ❤️
That last "bomb" drop is the best reason anyone watching should hit that subscribe button !! AND just as important ... smash that like button. Really guys you are ALL AWESOME !!!
THAT was great, 'guys'! NOT just putting the last part down (pinpoint) like a DRONE but the whole PROCESS of what you did with details! Yeah, YOU guys are GREAT and thanks for this one! Sonny
August, what a great tip on the rigging line attached to the bridge idea. All these years of technical rigging (I have serial number 4 on my first GRCS) and I’ve never thought of that. If anything it’s just out of the way and totally within reach all at the same time. Thank you!
Even though this was a weird year....it's been an amazing year for your channel. It's almost doubled it seems like & you are about to hit a youtube milestone.....100,000 subs. Congrats on everything, you have earned it the hard way. STAY SAFE
I'm in awe at not only the skill level and dedication it takes to do this work but the shear bravery to do such dangerous jobs. I'm fascinated watching August do his craft but my anxiety level rises every time.
Howdy August, another great video thanks! Being retired from water distribution maintenance I was kinda hoping that the water was still on to the yard hydrant....now that would have added some extra excitement to this video. However being the professional that you are I knew the water would be off. Have A Day! ;~)
Thank you for the motivation. I’m just getting back into tree work. I live in Tennessee now but I grew up in your neck of the woods. I went to IVHS in Cave Junction, OR. And I was a spc. at the National Guard armory in Merlin. I miss that area.
40 min of observing two great people move with mindful intent, highly efficient and effective, super productive. Exhibiting exceptional craft in a humble composure with positivity…it calms my soul and inspires … and every time I think how can he top a video like that..he does. I hope you are healing in a complete way. All the best and thank you!
This had a bad trees 3 vibe😎 especially when you were chunking the first few pieces of stem wood. Awesome video, not many people on this earth could handle a job like that while recovering from coronavirus. Tree kings 😎
Hi, thank you for your wonderfull videos. Why do you cut little tree branch before you cutt all the tree? If you dont little branches will fall with the big tree, no? Pascal.
Great video as always. The effort you put into editing is always evident and appreciated. Could you tell me a bit about your new Andre axe and the nifty poly hose section protecting the edge.
Excellent work August and crew! Asplundh makes us do open faces on every tree cut on the ground for control and to keep the tree attached to the stump.
I worked for Asplundh for 4 years doing line clearance, It’s a good job, but sometimes frustrating for an arborist. Ah yes, the open face cut was taught heavily, a lot of guys it’s all they knew and a lot of times it’s a go too! Where about do you work, and is it line clearance or private side?
@@Chato216 haha I went through my apprenticeship there. Did you go through the apprenticeship there? You know Nick Thompson? He was an instructor and I think a local RSS
BEAUIFUL! All the way through the job! Tremendous job so soon after being sick. I like the little orange saw. I have one also but don't have the thin MB bar you use. Not that it matters to me. I would probably bend it on the first cut. Thanks for all you have taught me about climbing. I wish I could have learned it long ago but happy I know it now. I 'll try to pass it on to someone else.
You guys are the greatest. But of course you know that already. I only wish you were closer to us here. I'd spend my kids inheritance to have to work for me :) Seriously, you guys set the bar for anyone either cutting trees or making video's.. Good work guys.. Bob Mitchell, Prescott, MI.....
Cool new helmet cam! I like seeing how you handle some of the small details like removing the small dead hangers before rigging down the limb. Stay safe!!
August great job, don't know if we could ever get that accuracy out of a Australian Eucalyptus. The tree fibres in most species are twisted knarly growth's. Great Job. Aussie Jeff Moore
Excellent job highly informative very entertaining you and your crew my friend are top-notch professionals excellent editing love this channel so glad your back God bless and stay strong Warriors.
Great to see you back, well done on the great videos, hope you get some well earned rest on the weekend (even tho your probably sick and tired of doing nothing), and hope your family is doing ok as well, its serious stuff, hope you have a good weekend too mate, Best wishes to you and your family from Australia.
Great job guys as always like you were talking about the open-faced yeah I completely understand that plus that helps you control possible bounce stay safe guys
I tackled a 110' ponderosa pine this summer in a very similar way. It had powerlines underneath the tree with the canopy spreading over two houses, so very small drop zone and a lean back over one of the houses. I approched it very much the same as you did this one using that "Jib" redirect technique, which i probably would not have thought of if i had not seen you do it in a earlier video. I can't tell you how many awesome tips and tricks ive picked up from your videos over the last couple years as i have ended up in the lead climber roll for the last couple companys ive worked for. Thank you August for sharing your knowledge and experience with us youngins. And that Buddle and Deliver technique is aweosme!! Gonna have to give that a try the next time i get the chance. Much Love and respect from a fellow climber up in BC, Canada.
I always thought I had a fear of heights but it's really just a fear of falling. Because you live in such a beautiful area and have an office with the best of views doesn't it suck bringing it down all the time? If I was up there I wouldn't get much work done. You had a very attentive audience so I'm guessing you gained a few potential customers. Thanks for letting us tag along and for the great photography.
Good morning August. Are you able to explain how you’re seeming to ‘steer’ the holding wood in 42:50 ? I often see you and Damien do this. Does removing more holding wood on one side of your back cut turn the tree? It looks as though you stay on the stump and are skinning away at the holding wood and I’d be curious how this works. I hope this makes sense lol.
@@AugustHunicke I have not had a chance to dive into past videos where you may have covered it but look forward to hearing a detailed explanation in the future !
