Aurelius, another homerun! Thanks so much for your willingness to share, but more importantly, the honesty and depth of your explanations. Wish others were as genuine and authentic! Keep up the great work, I definitely appreciate it!
The Lord really answers prayers. I was unsuccessful in finding the best platform to sell my digital products, but then you showed up. Thank you, thank you.
Thanks Aurelius. This was very timely for me and helpful. For a $0 investment to dig in and see if it works for what I am planning is definitely worth my time.
WOW! This is the first time I've heard of Payhip and oh my it seems amazing. Sure you give up a percentage on the free plan but if you're starting out and looking for a way to save, it's not a bad deal at all. Definitely will look into this more. Thanks for the great overview and sharing your experience too.
Same here. I can listing goods by my own and no need to watches any tutur video before I start. So easy, so intuitive. Thanks for your sharing to let me know deeper about payhip.
Sounds interesting but these new platforms need to build reputation and brand awareness so users can also profit in that way marketing wise as you need people to visit their site. With a Payhip store it is different as you are more in control of direct marketing your store/url.
If you’re looking for no fuss yet still have the tools to sell your products, Payhip is enough. If you’re looking to create a more custom landing page, there are more suitable options such as Wordpress with a combination of themes and plugins. It just takes more time to setup.
Hi Aurelius. I already have an online store with my e-book on my website. I'm looking for a Platform that will serve more as a Sales channel or extension to my existing online store. I found that some of the Platform do not allow you to have another sales page.
Thanks. I am a new Creator and was seriously looking at Gumroad due to the zero upfront cost but didn't like their format as it didn't have the module features. I didn;t know about payhip until your video so THANKS!
Thanks for the information that you gave. I have a question. How do potential customers find your course do you need to advertise your course yourself? Or is there a online market that they put it on or something like that
Thank you. This was helpful. I've been building a comparison table of the usual suspects and had narrowed it down to PayHip and Gumroad. Your quick demo helped me figure out which one to go with it (PayHip). I will use your affiliate link to sign up and get started. Thanks again! 😃
Nice job Aurelius! Question. With the Affiliate module, do they pay the affiliates directly or just provide the sales records and users have to pay their affiliates? Thanks, Vito
Aurelius, for what I understand, PayHip charges $5 a month to host the videos for the online courses and Gumroad doesn't charge anything to host the videos of your course. And also, 5% commission + 3% for the collecting platform is almost the same as the 9% of Gumroad (I think the 9% includes all fees). Can anyone confirm if this is right?
Yes, Gumroad includes the fees in the 9% plus there's a $0.30 fee per transaction. Payhip has a video hosting subscription for $5 /month, that is right. But you could very well opt to simply embed a UA-cam/Vimeo unlisted video which would be the free route. As mentioned in the video, Gumroad does not provide a platform for online courses, at least not in a way that's presented in a curriculum and lesson form.
@@AureliusTjin Oh, so you would recommend that we upload the video lessons to Vimeo (unlisted) and that is what we upload to PayHip? Are there any downsides to not hosting the video lessons on PayHip? Is the downside of Gumroad that it doesn't show the audience/customers the video lessons as an "online course"? I want to create online video courses in Spanish language. Some customers may be from Latam. Do you know if PayHip or Gumroad support that in any way? Man, thanks you for guiding content creators with your channel.
Hi, I've watched a few of your videos and I can see that you are extremely well versed in e-commerce platforms and tools. I don't know if you do this, but I'm super new to all this and would love to have a 1 on 1 personal consultation with you (paid of course). I'm a teacher that has come up with a new approach for teaching languages in the classroom and there is A LOT to it. Keeping my fingers crossed...
Thank you for your sharing. May I ask you how does Payhip work in order to promote your product ? Do you need to pay for advertising in order to promote and let customer find your product?
The comment from Thee Real Nono is 100% right. These platforms do not market your product for you. Even with Gumroad’s Marketplace, your product does not get promoted. It can potentially get featured but that’s if it makes a lot of sales and other criteria.
My payhip account was closed because I was selling PLR products. TOS: PLR/MRR or content with resale rights PLR (Private Label Rights) and MRR (Master Resale Rights) content are not allowed on Payhip
Many thanks Aurelius for an interesting channel, so much good information. I'm thinking of setting up a Payhip account to sell and market Notion templates. When you purchase a Notion template it is done via a web link. How would you add that link to an upload in Payhip? Would it have to be put into a Word doc or PDF file first? Thanks.
Thank you Aurelius for your didactic explanation. I have two questions about Payhip platform: 1. How does Payhip handle taxes? In Europe there is a tax called VAT that is included when a transaction is made. 2. I understand that payments for the purchase of books are made through a Payhip payment gateway. I would like you to confirm this point.
Great video mate! Do you think Payhip is good for my digital products? I sell assets for VTT games etc... also printable products they can print and use on tabletop gaming etc... I need it to have membership option as well
Just opened my payhip account. Hit a snag when I can't connect Printful to my Payhip store (which I was told should have been easy via Zapier) but new Printful API is complicated. I'm not tech savvy. I don't know coding. So now, I can only sell digital products on Payhip. Oh, and Printful tech support will only help you if your store is already making hundreds of thousands of dollars. So yeah, it sucks.
I don’t know much about integrating Printful with Payhip specifically, but what I would do on your case is pay someone to integrate it for you. I used someone who specialises in zapier integrations and paid no more than $30 for the job. I was seriously going to spend hours trying to figure it out myself…he created an automation with Thinkific and Circle community platform.

Thank you for this video. I wasn't sure which platform to use! this looks great.

Thank you because I was kinda torn between the two, but your explanation of the fee structure made up my mind.
Yes, but do take note Gumroad’s 9% already includes Stripe/PayPal fees. Payhip works out to be slightly less.
thanks for making your content so easy to understand. I will be going with payhip :)
Hello Aurelius, it's my first time watching your video. Good job!!!

Let’s say people from other countries want to buy my e book do I need to do an extra adjustment or it would still work?

is payhip ideal if selling art printables?
I don’t see why not. You can upload images to showcase the art and if they want to purchase it they can and then receive instant access to it.

Thank you for your sharing. May I ask you how does Payhip work in order to promote your product ? Do you need to pay for advertising in order to promote and let customer find your product?
