    When using sand there must be a layer of something at the bottom, I use fine netting similar to screen door material, if not used the sand will run out with water when watering

      Good point, I placed some of my native DG soil around the drains holes. Paper towels work too, but a screen is a great option too!

    🌍 Naturally produced taurine's effects on plants are more than just osmotic pressure, although that's possibly one of the best reasons to look into; it's not on UA-cam yet. I say naturally produced because the synthetic seems to be made with something that might create a carcinogen when combined with vitamin c, which plants are full of.🌎

    That will be the real test of sand is best or not....how the fruit tastes and whether its getting the same nutrient uptake as an organic soil. Looking forward to see your taste tests. That will be great if it tastes as good or better because sand is way cheaper than these expensive soils.

      Gary Matsuoka says, “Sand is King” in our interview and he inspired this…All of the old bonsai books recommend sand. But, I want to try the fruit and agree with you.

    Has this reduced insects in the pot?

    Just need a forklift to lift it. My pots need to be mobile so I can over winter in a greenhouse. Think I ll be designing a Dragon fruit Trellis Moving Device this fall, the hand truck n ratchet strap work but was very top heavy on the uneven ground & ramp into the greenhouse. Saw one on amazon but wasn’t worth the 250-350 advertised. It was like a wheel barrel but missing the barrel and had arms to lift half moon shaped lifters that would lift under the brim of a pot but my pots don’t have a edge/brim to lift from just two handles on my tuff tubs. My lifter parts will grab from below the pot and have a strap to secure the pot from three sides and allow the pot to teeter on the frame work incase you need to go up or down hill. Maybe brakes are needed too 😊

      For mobile trellises, use the mix I shared on Facebook. Sand, perlite #3 or #4, pumice, humic acid, and bio char.

      Yes, that mobile trellises they are promoting is not a good design in my opinion, especially for the price.

    • @RAREDRAGONFRUIT
      @RAREDRAGONFRUIT  6 днів тому +1

      Not play sand in my opinion, larger grains are better. I like Quickrete sand from big box stores

    • @RAREDRAGONFRUIT
      @RAREDRAGONFRUIT  Місяць тому +2

      No rain, so it depends on the health/recovery of the plants after fruiting. I water some weekly and others monthly if they look healthy
