I have one of these, also in ruby red. I have never had any problems with it whatsoever, other than having to tweak some of the tuning from time to time. I have perfect pitch, which helps.
Just some specifics here which you did not cover. I own this guitar. You should have mentioned it has a three-piece neck to cut costs and it is manufactured in China, not America. The tuner works fine and is very reliable. Also the guitar has a tendency to resonate internally because of the wires jangling around. May need hot glue especially on the harness that is attached to the bowl. It constantly falls off. In my case used super glue to re-attach. Since the strength of this guitar is when it's amplified, it does more than a decent job translating the tone. Neck is not super comfortable but a bit more gulpy. Adjusting truss rod is a total hassle internally since it must be done in the bowl with an allen wrench + some sort of vise grip to extend it to turn it. All in all the guitar is still ok and for what I paid for it new, I am not complaining.
My ovation broke. The bridge actually split where the strings go in. They tried to fix it. And now Guitar Center is buying me a new guitar. They said that the grain of the bridge was the wrong way. And when they tried to replace it they ruined the guitar. At Guitar Center.
@@CineMusician thanks for coming back at me. My new guitar should be in next week hopefully. This has been going on since December 6th of last year. My patience of Warren to the end. Keep playing man🦊
I have the same model, same color... Unfortunately, it was damaged by a colleague accidentally... The top cracked and the neck was detached... Got it repaired by a local luthier... Played reasonably OK for 2 years, but sounds horrible now... The crack has reappeared and is even worse than before... Doesn't stay in tune for more than 5 minutes... Thinking about exchanging it with a new deep contour model, but not finding a good deal anywhere...
I owned acoustic guitars that cost a lot more. Did they sound better unplugged Yes. But my "cheap" celebrity makes a better job plugged into my interface, when I can't use a mic to record something. Great player for the e-guitarist.
It was for Glen Campbell. Even though he used an earlier different model. I have a Celebrity as well. I've always enjoyed playing it since the 90s. The neck is butter and the electronics don't suck. I played it yesterday against a guy with dreadnought style acoustic unplugged. The Celebrity was louder and more resonant with equal playing volume. This guitar to me has a shimmering tone as my description. I play medium-light gauge strings which I think helps me in ease of play.
Hi. It's a nice guitar. Please tell me about the weight of this guitar. It's lightweight? Lighter than an electric guitar? like an electro-acoustic guitar? Thanks a lot
I agree with you on these points. The Takamine blows out even Martins on the big sound that you described in my opinion. But that is the beauty of choice in tone, color, construction, playability and loudness in acoustic/acoustic electric guitars. Acoustic guitars don't lye.
I have the exact same guitar with a spalted maple top, less than 3 years old. I guess you got lucky with yours, while I got shit with mine. Certain strings on certain frets lack sustain, which pretty much fucks up the sound of a full chord. Also, the pre-amp recently died, and a replacement OP-4BT is nowhere to be found. So now a $500+ guitar is worth maybe $50. I guess I have to believe the bigots when they say that Chinese quality control sucks.
I hate that this video doesn’t have many views. No one even takes the time to do these after a couple of years. I actually really appreciate it.
Thank you! :D
Ovation guitars are some of the best sounding easy to play guitars on the market. Can't go wrong on trying and buying one.

Just bought one off Reverb, black gloss top. Just waiting now for delivery.
Enjoy your new instrument! 😁
Love Ovation guitars, but gimme a deep contour for a much fuller sound. Have 2 Ovations and 2 Adamas. Nothing I've heard compair to the Adama guitars.
Would have liked to hear the sound of it longer
I got a ton of videos on my channel playing this guitar 😁
I just buy it 😉 thanks for the review

Damn that's shitty man, I hope you get everything squared, I have had my ovation for 6 years now and no issues so hopefully yours was just a defect.

You're welcome!

That's terrible 😭

Washers are generally are held on by a nut. So it looks like you're missing the nut.
What kind of strings come on the guitar? I can't tell if they're nylon or steel! Thanks!
I need a guitar for the grand oL Opry is this it

I think it is very lightweight!
Hey I have a question, how does the guitar sound unplugged ?
It sounds great! Check out my cover of Dee by Randy Rhodes to hear for yourself ua-cam.com/video/Ob42GKiBPPM/v-deo.html
To me sounds too high.. it allows you to play fast. I like takamine 10 or 51 better. Much bigger sound too.

Washer fell off because you didn't know what you were doing
Do any of us really know what we are doing in the grand scheme of things?

That's horrible man :( I have been lucky enough that only my output jack has gone out so far and that was a cheap easy fix.
