I have, and I love it. But I would love more episodes.
This is what tv was about .....love and value.
How can Darrin treat Aunt Clara this way, when Aunt Clara is the only one in Samantha's family who likes him?
guess hes been burned too often and maybe he gets confused at times, but i thinnk hes basically a good soul
In the clip before this one, he actually speaks to Aunt Clara very gently, explaining his parents aren't used to witchcraft. It's worth a watch.
well this was her first appearance and once he got to know her he actually end up liking her.
@@1talldaddy Darrin started to have a few issues with Aunt Clara following the episode where she turned him into a chimp which is understandable however he always liked Aunt Clara.
@@eijiniizuma6184 yeah Aunt Clara was too nice to hate.
Darrin boss samantha
This episode features my favorite quote from Aunt Clara. When mentioning her doorknob collection, Frank asks Clara, "Where did you get them all?"
Clara responds: "I don't remember, but there are a lot of people having a heck of a time trying to open their doors!"
Marion Lorne (born 1883) collected door knobs. The ones in the series were from her own collection.
And in later episodes she steals some guys knobs and we see him wondering how to get out
😅😅😅❤
I like Darren's Father especially when he told Darren's Mom to shut up
What a beauty Elizabeth was (and a great talented actor)
Actress. 👍🏻 and yes she was.
@@dannydowd9768 Today we say actor not actress...flight attendant not stewardess....so if you feel the need to correct someone please make sure you know your facts! And, yes....she was a talented ACTOR!
@@donnalthood3102 Both words work. I use actress because it's more specific.
@@donnalthood3102
That "we" does not include the many authentic dictionaries of English language, I guess.
@@luxleocor I do not have a problem with the word actress...I have a problem with someone correcting someone snarkily when they, themselves, are not fully correct. Perhaps instead of "we" I could have said it is common today to say actor...flight attendant...etc.
Love this scene. It shows the evolution of Elizabeth's Samantha. Here she's nervous being around Darrin's parents, especially his mother. But by the end, we see Sam's fiestiness, a fiestiness we'll see in Sam throughout the series.
And we think Endora has a high opinion of her daughter, and she does, but Darrin's mother can rival her in that area. How many times does she walk by Sam when she enters their home and Sam tries to give her a kiss on the cheek?
Notice that Sam always calls his parents Mr. or Mrs. Stephens. Oh, if they only knew Sam's background in her world. 😀❤
Here, she's meeting her in-laws for the first time, so of course is trying to make a good impression. In subsequent episodes, Samantha has to "manage" them through whatever weird situation somebody's witchcraft presents; either coming up with some sort of explanation, using a bit of her own witchcraft, or just serving Phyllis a few more glasses of sherry.
Great word, feistiness, especially when it's spelled correctly!
@@dunruden9720 Oh, don't worry about the spelling. You got the message and we're not writing a Ph.D thesis. 🙂
It's hard to think that Endora's daughter wouldn't stand up for herself.
"Here. Have a tranquilizer.", Sam would say to her mother-in-law later. 🙂
I always liked that Darrin's mother got to show this side of her. Frankly, she was no worse than Endora was to him. Mother's usually take up for their kids.
I asked her umbrella. I love that confident laugh after she says I am.
There is so much to love in this episode. Darrin shows some caring towards Aunt Clara. And Aunt Clara telling Frank and Phyllis that she and Bertha (seen in The Witches are Out) put a curse on the Yankees and was quite proud that the Yankees lost two world series in a row because of it. And I love it when she says "she's trying to give it up. Bothers Darrin." and "and where's that lovely mortal you told me you're married to."
Samantha should've stood up to Darrin like this more often. I love all the characters, especially Endora and Mrs Kravitz, but Darrin and his mom could be the biggest jerks.
I agree.
You know, when I was younger, I hated Darrin. But now that I'm an adult (and I happen to be a guy), I think that Darrin is one of the MVPs of this series. It takes a really secure guy to live with, essentially, a superwoman. Who outclasses him in every way. Who does not need him at all. And who could turn him into an artichoke at any point.
I think that Samantha recognizes what a good thing she's got. And realizes that he can only be pushed so far. He has to have a bit of bluster. Otherwise, she would run things covertly (which she does) AND overtly, which would make neither of them happy. Because it sounds old-fashioned, but it's true: No woman wants to be in a relationship with a man she controls.
Stated another way: The fact that Darrin still has the courage to try to tell Aunt Clara or Sam to do anything takes balls of steel. Sam probably loves that about him.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
Endora was the villain of the series
It's amazing how the writers can wrap up a major family issue in less than 5 minutes.
Favorite line was when Mr. Stephens told Mrs. Stephens to shut up
Such a lovely and heartwarming scene. The 1st season or two were the best, tho watching them now you can see they were somewhat in the vein of 50s sitcoms while the later episodes were a bit less...smaltzy and are more 60s leaning into early 70s in " flavor ".
BTW: saw Marion Lorne in the Hitchcock film Strangers On A Train as the mother of a psychopath. She was a bit crazy herself, but even then, had that delightful sort of chuckle/laugh.
Elizabeth is so damn CUTE!
If one pays attention, Elizabeth wore the some outfits multiple times throughout the run of the series. A couple of examples are DOUBLE SPLIT and DISAPPEARING SAMANTHA. Two more examples are OUT OF SYNC, OUT OF MIND and BEWITCHED, BOTHERED, AND BELDONI. Elizabeth wore the same outfit in both.
I like it. It shows that Sam had clothes she wore because she liked them, just like regular folk do. I think that's another reason BEWITCHED is so loved. Sam and Darrin just wanted for be regular folk. That wouldn't be easy, but was it ever fun.
ok and? No really, your point is? Watch Doctor Who, they wear the same two outfits all the time. Or most shows, people have a select closet.
@@AzguardMike They wore the same outfits in Trek,, Beverly Hillbillies, and other shows. On BEWITCHED, guest cast provided their own clothes which were cleaned. In the first two seasons, Elizabeth Montgomery's outfits were provided by a clothier. From season three onward, she wore her own outfits, except in episodes where they went back in time.. York and Sargent's clothes were provided by a clothier throughout the seasons.
My point is, like most people, Sam had a wardrobe she liked and didn't need a new outfit constantly. BEWITCHED, from what's been reported over the years, had a tight budget. Today, actors have their outfits provided by the wardrobe department.
I agree, that is what my mom and dad did. The wore the same outfits many times.
Terrific Scene with Outstanding Acting All THE WAY AROUND!!!!!
Even when she told people the truth they didn't believe her.
I think Samantha is pretty. I really do!
The mother in law from hell.... was surely this one. The husband finally stood up to her, and he put it so eloquently.
Still, this actress was terrific at playing antagonistic disapproving matriarchs. Any good actor, or actress playing the antagonist, is good at creating someone you love to hate.
I love that the two characters make up here. This was a wonderful moment between these characters. I love the confession Darren’s mother makes to Samantha here.
I liked both Franks especially the second one he seemed very soft hearted. Either that our he was a really good actor.
Sam is, was so beautiful! I had a crush on her the minute I saw her as a young kid.
You're not the only one, brother.
I remember back in the day there was an episode where Darren’s mother faints and a doctor checks her pulse. If anyone knows which episode that is.
Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick York were great actress and actor.
🙏🏻👍🏻🥰
And welldone. 🙏🏻
Darren's mother was the sister of Jack Albertson...
@William Saunders yes and what a GREAT character actress she was fir many years!!
I love the episode of Hazel where Mabel Albertson plays a tax collector.
This series is brilliant
Lol even after she confesses they still think of it as a friendly joke
I asked her umbrella 😂
I always thought Bewitched is a great show from the 70's which included three great Actor/Actresses.
The show’s first season was in 1964, actually. All the best episodes were in the 60’s. The ratings went down by the early 70’s.
The show went off the air in 1972.
It was a 60s show rather than a 70s show
I love bewitched
Frank, I have a sick headache...
So talented! And what a doll
Frank, I have a sick headache...
So glad she finally stood up to Darrin about her fam!! Aunt Clara was always nice to him, but he was a hypocrite, always rotten to sams relatives but god forbid she stand up to his witchy mother!! I’m glad she took sams side at least, but geez mother Stephens, learn to let go, Darrin has clearly been on his own awhile, he obviously doesn’t need her like she belived!!!
Especially when she puts up with his mother.
Dick York was in love with Elizabeth in real life..who wasn't.. ? Apparently she was a pretty down- to- earth darn gorgeous gal😉. Shame she died so young.
Good scene with samantha and darrin's parents. elizabeth did that scene good.
Wish the full episode was posted. One of my favorite. Love Aunt Clara.
The full episode is there now “ Samantha meets the folks”. Just noticed your comment is really old, hope you were able to find it! Cheers!
Possibly the best tv show.
Mrs Stevens has a lot to learn 😀
Before clicking on the video I thought it was a witch reveal like what she did with Larry and the kravits's
3:00 I know i knew why she is happy
That mother of Darren's!
...well, "ya can't please EVERYBODY!!"
I love this episode.
funniest thing I found out about people at a very young age. Tell them the truth and they'll never believe you. Tell them a whopper and they'll treat it as gospel.
So true.
Once, I told my friends a whopper of a lie and they believed it so much
it had ME believing it too, and I'm not exaggerating.
The shock and reality of that still sticks with me today almost 60 years later.
@@valvenator what was the lie?

Odd. I noticed that necklet the MIL wears is VERY similar to the one "Agatha" wears in "WondaVision" preview.redd.it/mhur5r64v1561.jpg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d586df766720b47c02230399a32de6b4dc7be3c
Not exact...but close enough for a call back.
One quesrion: why must the writers need to portray the character of Darn so ignorantly annoying. I hate his characteristics reminds me of all of the right wing Christians
You the man Darn!
Is this a different actor playing the father-in-law? I remember a different actor in later episodes
If Darrin's parents only knew Sam's background, especially his mother, wouldn't belove it. A witch, royalty, and the importance of her family in her world's hierarchy.
His father always showed a fondness for Sam, from the beginning. It's Phyllis who showed an almost jealous attitude toward Sam. Sam is the opposite. She did tell Endora that Phyllis is "sensitive". She was being kind. 🙂
Phyllis did love it when she discovered that Sam was a witch and Sam had to take drastic action.
@1:51 Shut up Phyllis…Sometimes you just gotta stay out of your grown children’s business…Sometimes
I liked how both Samantha and Darrin's mother confessed their vulnerabilities. Samantha of course did learn how to cook and keep house. But now I find myself craving some pineapple upside down cake!
Why not tell the world? Darrin accepted the, albeit reluctantly. (I'm being Devil's Advocate here. Or does he need one?) Oops. Thought this was the dream sequence episode.
That's the third person I've seen playing the part of Darrins father today.. Watching these video clips
Is Darrin's mother called Mrs Whiting ever? A family in South Australia. She had 8 sons. Or is she called Stephens herself?
Is Darrin's father called Arthur or Akers? Dunolly, Victoria, Eastern Australia.
I remember this episode from Bewitched favorite like funny. TV show
I wonder why they never told them, they were always nice to her. Darrin's mom was a little annoying sometimes but because she was always confused when witchcraft was around her 😅
Check out darrins mom on have gun will travel. Get a laugh. He thought she was a mail order bride.😮
Experience of centuries ah.. Very cleaver sam
Today is my day for Spiderman Easter eggs. I just realized that both of the actors that portrayed J. Jonah Jameson in the 1977 Amazing Spiderman TV show were on Bewitched. David White (Larry Tate) played Jameson in the pilot and Robert F. Simon (Darrin's father) took over the role for the rest of the series. Neither was as good as J. K. Simmons, but that's hardly a snub. I wonder if Nicholas Hammond was ever on Bewitched or even the Tabitha sitcom. I suppose I could look it up, but I'd rather just imagine Elizabeth Montgomery as MJ.
This is a great episode!! Darrin's mother is a crab!!!!!!! Aunt Clara is pure gold.... Shut up Phyllis, her mouth never stop's!!!!! Lovely Samantha!! Just a great show.. Love watching it everyday, pure pleasure... No swearing, no wearing nasty outfit's!!! This show should be seen on Billboard's everywhere, People, GET A GRIP!!!! 🥀🥀🥀🥀... 2022...
There was Zero Color in Season One!
This wasn’t really a confession. Looks like Darrin’s parents treated it as a joke.
Hiw about everyone faking himan raise their hand
Love that mid-Atlantic accent.
Eu gostava muito de assistir este seriado eu gostaria que fosse tradução em português ok
😊
"Shut up, Phyllis!"

A great scene, despite Samantha's horrible dress.
@Shaun The Good Doctor I actually did live during that time and most of Samantha's wardrobe is exquisite, which is why this dress stands out as an aberration. It's more appropriate as something for Phyllis to wear, and not Samantha.
Of course, Elizabeth Montgomery would never wear a dress which was less than fashionable, and perhaps on someone else it would look lovely. However in this case, it doesn't seem to be tailored very well, making it hang awkwardly, especially around the four big buttons. Considering the episode has been colorized, it's possible the original color was more pleasing, but still...
...WELL, IF YA DON'T LIKE IT- THEN YA DON'T HAVE TO EAT IT!!!
...aw, you've got KITTY-!!!
Her hair seemed odd too.
@@JeffDeWitt ...well, "ya can't please EVERYBODY!!"
I'm not...
Yelling and screaming and arguing for no bleeping reason other than to create drama for the sake of drama.
Shame this is what happens in real life and not just on TV.
I prefer the original black and white cinematography. The colorization is simply awful.
Was Elizabeth Montgomery a Christian?
Episcopalian
Would any modern women today ever talk like Samantha?
boostedmaniac; No. They would use the word "like" after every phrase and use a lot of foul language. You've come a long way , baby, thanks to the entitled ANTIFA Generation.
