- BIG COUNTRY LIVE WONDERLAND
GERMANY 1995
It's If you could feel how I must feel
The winds of quiet change
If you could see what I must see
Still hidden in the rain
But when the thunder rolls
It comes and covers up my soul
And you will take my hand
And be with me in wonderland
I am an honest man
I need the love of you
I am a working man
I feel the winter too
If you could hear what I must hear
Then nothing would replace
The fifty years of sweat and tears
That never left a trace
But when I look at you
I see you feel the same way too
And you will take my hand
And be with me in wonderland
I am an honest man
I need the love of you
I am a working man
I feel the winter too
You still remember other days
When every head was high
I watched that pride be torn apart
Beneath a darker sky
With innocence within ourselves
We sing the same old song
And you will take my hand
And make believe it's wonderland
I need the love of you
I am a working man
I feel the winter too
I am an honest man
I need the love of you
I am a working man
I feel the winter too
Wonderland, wonderland, wonderland...
Great to see Stuart enjoying himself so much, plus a rare smile from Mark. The best band of the 80's & 90's by far. Better song writers & musicians than Ueffin2 in any era.
Thanks for posting this one.
Absolutely brilliant 🎶🎶🎶🎶🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛
Unbelievable!!! First time to see this clip and absolutely amazing. Didn't realise that Stuart (RIP) was so highly talented on guitar.
Is it almost 9 years that Stuart left us,"i feel the winter to" RIP big man you will not be forgotten.
The whole fucking band is a machine.
Tony on the bass and Mark on the drums are just a pure powerhouse.
Jesus. what a fucking band.
I love this band big country they kick ass
Stuart showing off on the guitar again from about 3:30 onwards. Just the best.
Absolutely incredible..what a band.God bless Stuart Adamson.x
there wasn't many bands that could hold an audience in the pouring rain like these. wish I could have been there.
Was there ever a better live band.. Unbelievable
How is it possible to dislike this?
This is what music is about!
fucking great band.
BC stands out, head and shoulders above all others. Wonderland was such a remarkable song that that I wrote myself a note in 1987 to remind myself, years later how I felt.
+FoghornLeghorn66 What was that note, just out of interest m8 ?
Best version of this song I have ever heard - stuey - what a legend ❤️
This version is superb. Went to see BC in concert in 1987 and still love em. Miss Stuart big time. He was a Legend!!!!!!! All the best everyone!!
Stuart was a difficult man, mainly because of his alcoholism. But he was musician with all of his existence. And that what makes Big Country's music so great. And he had 3 other guys by his side who were so much "Big Country" as himself. One can tell because of Mark leaving - and than wanted to come back! Maybe in the end Stuart couldn't recognize anymore what he had with Big Country, that the band was the second familiy he left.
I wish he were here still and could see how much his music is loved and appreciated till today.
Live - in the rain - throwing it down - AWESOME. Great song, greater band! Loved 'em in college and still love his voice and that bagpipe-sounding guitar. Rock in peace Stuart!
this band is as good as U2 wished to be!
BC has been personal to me since 1983. I re-visit UA-cam clips now and then. This clip reminds me that Bruce was the most amazing rhythm guitarist, Tony unsurpassed on bass, Mark, well, we all know Mark is the best in the world, no Rush comparisons please. Stuart, well, he shines, and I can help but cry. I miss him so much.
mongo88now88 What a star he was, and he never knew.
Huge loss for music 😢
i've been on youtube quite a while but these vids of BC by skapaul are truly impressive...just luv them...for the life of me never knew why BC didn't achieve the true fame that their greatness deserved...
just mind blowing!!!!
I was too young to see BC in their heyday--but I was listening at that time, and I had pretty much all their output from the 1980s. They were darn special on record, but the live stuff was the cat's meow.
Eight years on, and I still miss Stuart. Still hard to believe he's gone. He--they--were amazing. A magic time that really is over in rock music.
RIP, Scotland's finest.
This is as good as it gets! Stay alive.
Superb, so much energy. What an excellent recording. Love that he always says "Bruce..." as they go into the middle 8.
My sentiments exactly. Thanks for writing he always says "Bruce" lol.
All this time i thought he was saying "freece". I am American. We can't understand Scott. But, i love him anyway.
thanks for all the BC footage
My new favourate band.
Goosebumps ❤
Saw them live in Frankfurt once during the eighties, great band, fantastic music. RIP Stuart Adamson.
just awesome, truly awesome
Moment in time!
Awesome!!!!One of the great live bands ever. Sadly missed. RIP Stuart
Bruce and Stuart's guitars between 5:30 - 6:00 made all the hairs on my body stand on edge
+Right Stuff Me too pal
I've always loved this song...........
What a talent he was. RIP Stuart.
so,,, so wonderful this band
2 words fuckin class 🎶🎶👌
Shock and awe!!

I love being scottish great people we r
Miss you Stuart
Every one of these guys are a great musician and Stuart's vocals are amazing.❤
Absolutely. But stuart was the main man of big country. A massive loss to music. Thank god i saw them live in the 80s. Infact they r the best band ive seen live! , along with the who and the rolling stones of course.
Awesome and beautiful track. Quite simply the best band of the 80s by a Big Country mile
This band and this song is so strongly tied into my college years, that what we have, is excruciating pain, extreme nostalgic memories, and just a gasping for air. I think I will check my pantry for some Ramen Noodles. Let the sodium put me to sleep. "I feel the winter too".
'Spellbinding' - at the top of their game.
dreams are made of this
I have the 12" vinyl extended version of Wonderland and I will never part from it. It has Giant on the other side. Can you imagine! This is music for the soul.
I love this banda. 👍
Just unreal. Best live version ever.
Great great band and incredible musicians.
Timeless brilliance. RIP Stewart.
Marvellous, shivers down my spine and went back 25 years. Tony Butler's Mrs shouldn't have let him wear that shirt, mind you!
Great band - great song.
One of my favorite BC songs
yes yes yes
off to see BC in Gasgow tonight...the auld heart will flutter 2night of past gigs...i remember getting completey lifted of my feet at the barras during the Greatest hits tour...also putting argyle street in chaos playing out Tower records windows...starting up with restless native,s made the hair on ny neck stand up...4.12 secs...put that in yer fuse box Edge...May the road rise up to meet yous in 2011...cheers skapaul
Awesome, what a time!
this is insanely great. what a groove. so musical!!!!
thanks man !!! awesome band and a dyer shame...
This is amazing! I wish I had been there
Great energy

RIP Stuart Adamson great talent sadly missed
grande classe, perfect!
OUT-FUCKING-STANDING.
Fuc...g GREAT wersion!!! Great band.
great band, sadly missed
That fuckin bass run kicks ass and makes my skin tingle everytime I hear it!
@loveultravoxforever i had the good fortune to see the skids too !! though im showing my age, i also saw ultravox before midge joined !!!!!! though not many songs jiggle my bones like this one : )
Does Mark drop a stick at 2:08 as there seems a short missing section then he is smiling after ? Who knows !
i really want to see them at the o2 in birmingham in january! Anyone know if the venue is any good?
Rock and fucking roll
@hipsterslingo Stuart was from Manchester grew up in Dunfirmlin
That solo... it's long but it never once feels self indulgent or wanky and you just want it to keep going.
If Paul mcguiness had been the manager Big Country would have been massive. U2 were no great shapes and look what he produced.
@dannydangerousmullan Dude im a Spanish Yorkshireman and this band was way and above my favourite back then some of there songs were just perfect maybe it's the Gaelic in me?? i I dont Know
Its not really club music though more for winding the car window down and cruising in the mountains then it's perfect :-)
i hope you know that they're aren't even 39 billion people living in the world.
Fantastic performance but what's wrong with Bruce's guitar sound?
3:25
One of their sloppier versions.
@dannydangerousmullan Wow, bitter much?
@SpartanPict Why? I wasn't being racist at all. If you read my post correctly the guy I was replying to was being racist buy saying that if Big Country were English, then they would have been bigger than they were because they were Scottish
2 people have no soul
@dannydangerousmullan both bands you mention are NOT English!! And not all English people hate Scottish Bands. I think These (Big Country) are amazing as well as Simple Minds, Eurythmics, The Proclaimers and your "not so famous for being Scottish"..............Mark Knopfler, yep!! He was born in Glasgow!! So we are not all RACIST unlike you!
