Fascinating, I was wondering yesterday how much gold was in the Columbia when we we driving to the Bridge of the God’s. There was a massive landslide there that blocked the river completely and made a giant lake. I began wondering how much gold gets dumped into the river. Where is it now? Great video and beautiful gold.
Well if you take it down to the Columbia be careful sometimes the waves coming into the shore are 2 feet high Especially if a big shipping ship comes through they make massive waves.
Hi i take my black sand that i dry it also In a castirion pan them i take my pullung magnet and Put it i. Most of it is from deposits that were in the river before the dams were put in. Material is also moved every time they dredge the river and take the tailings out into the ocean just outside of the beach
Just start walking! Portland is full of awesome sidewalk islands for metal detecting! So many parks! I literally keep a metal detector in my work van because of that. But look for sidewalk islands on one-way roads.
You probably should try blue bowl with silicone mat first and then the Falcon pan... When you get older and have arthritis, you'll thank me if you try my suggestion.
I tried the blue bowl, & wasn't impressed with the results. No matter how slow I ran it (I ran er so slow that the thing was left to recirculate ALL night long! The next morning there was still a ton of black sand!) it blew the really fine gold out. Perhaps I wasn't doing something right.
Sweet video, & Cool giveaway! I'm kicking my self in the butt! There has been numerous times fishing from the bank that I was in a similar looking spot on that river. Never once did I think to bring a pan, or Gold Cube along with me! Heck, The thought never even crossed my mind to put a sample of this material into a sandwich baggie to take home. Stay safe during these trying times, & happy Easter!
@@PhaseSkater I do believe when that video was released it was around Easter weekend. Safe from all the lunatics that would be out traveling for the weekend getaway
As I would like to be in a place like this right now but here in the Dominican Republic quarantine is very difficult have a good time friend you deserve it
Not bad got a little color. Looked like an awesome day & wife looked happy also 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻Did you build your cleanup sluice at home ? Looked pretty cool 👍🏻
The reason I said a sluice box won't work well in the Columbia it's because waves come in disrupting the flow into the box that's why I use gold Cube's. But with the new laws we have to take our water with us when we use a recirculating system
Go to my page Cape disappointment Gold mining original on Facebook go to Files and we have paperwork that you can copy fill it out online but use the information provided on the form and just put in your name and personal info

The gold cubes did there job.✅ Caught that face powder gold. 👍Thanks for sharing the video. 😎👌👌👍👍⛏⛏
Wow surprised gold made it past all the dams

Black sands gold - thousands of years of deposits into Mother Nature's bank... Good video!
T-Shirt Weather! Nice Gannon. Good to see you and the little Mrs. got out. Thanks for sharing.
You got to try to make it up here to Oregon and Washington sometime!
@@pnwprospecting I would love it if I could. Maybe one day. Washington state for sure. I hear there's some really good spots there.
Oregon has better we just can’t use motorized gear
@@pnwprospecting We can't either.
Nice
Lots of spots along the columbia..... Ya just need to check them out.
Yep!
Awesome video. Thanks. From Spokane... Cheers.

Looks like a good alternative place to dig.....
Yes it was. The tide is very short where we were so we set up on level ground!
Keep up the great videos
Just wondering if there any place around Portland Oregon that the busses will take me to use a metal detector at?
Just start walking! Portland is full of awesome sidewalk islands for metal detecting! So many parks! I literally keep a metal detector in my work van because of that. But look for sidewalk islands on one-way roads.
New sub here, very cool video i hope to get to the columbia river someday, its on my bucket list.
It’s an amazing river! I definitely take it for granted. I will miss it when we move someday closer to the dredge claims.
Yep, that's how you make it work! I need to get out there after I heal from knee replacement surgery!!
What a great day.. Very cool video, and neat setup.. Thanks for sharing
That was so much fun. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day!
Thank you for coming with me I was so happy to see you running your cube for the first time at the beach!
I would like to know where you are at i have a 8' sluice fox
Ive been wanting to
Go sluicing because
I have cabin fever
And need a place
To go
The Columbia isn’t good for a sluice I would recommend the Molalla river or quartzville
Very nice sorry I'm late bud I knew that Columbia River basin had gold very nice bud
No worries I’m behind as well. Hope you two can come visit someday!
@@pnwprospecting rite would be epic im sure never know when but it might happen one day

This is a spot along the Columbia just up river from the cape. Not closed and very beautiful!

Yeah I’m not a big fan of the blue bowl either for this size gold. Good for river cons though!
@@pnwprospecting try a silicone mat. Game changer for the blue bowl...
Don't forget that the snake river dumps into the Columbia. The snake brings gold from Wyoming, Idaho, and Oregon.
Why can’t you do this on the oregon side?
They changed a lot of laws in Oregon... now they have done the same in Washington and we either have to take our waste water home or get permits...
