When you're a Rodney Crowell fan, you really feel sorry for those who have never discovered him and excited for those who have yet to find his songs.
I try and share his songs but nobody listens. It makes me feel bad they are missing out

I was a massage therapist in Austin, Texas for 35 years. One day I got a call for a massage. His name was Rodney Crowell. I wasn’t a fan of country western music at the time so I didn’t know who he was. He was staying at a local hotel and was going to be playing at a concert that evening. When I had finished he invited me to bring a friend and gave me 2 tickets to his concert. My boy friend and I went and I instantly became a fan. Also, after he finished one of his songs, he said “If the young lady who gave me a great massage this afternoon is in the audience, it really helped”. Wow, how great was that! This was in approximately the early 90’s. Been a huge fan ever since.

Gorgeous song, and video! Brilliant harmonies too. Not sure why Audrey Spillman is not recognized in the credits, as she is a brilliant singer, and really adds to the song.

Thank you, I love Audrey Spillman velvety voice, and this fabulous song, I have loved it since it was played on the Nashville tv show, 10 years ago.
I discovered RC when I bought "Diamonds and Dirt" when it was first released. Now, years later, it amazes me that, despite what he alludes to in his song "I Don't Care Anymore", forty odd years later all his best cards have NOT been played and his creations are anything but middle of the road. Mr Crowell's music keeps getting better and more heart-touching with every new creation. Rodney Crowell is to country music what Springsteen is to Rock and Roll; an icon.
Immediately strikes me as a Rodney Crowell master piece. Songs like these are badly needed at the moment. Many thanks!
Rodney is a national treasure. Somebody I'd love to see in concert.
I have seen him dozens of times and whether he is with a band or solo the music is always spectacular.

8 out of 10 people in the music business today really don't belong there. Rodney isn't one of those 8. He's the genuine article, a real artist, and he always has been.
As a singer and song writer, he is right there with the late great Gordon Lightfoot. You are not going to find many people who are at this level because it takes a special person who see's things in different ways to put the words together to make these great songs. I have great respect for Rodney and his talent and I can honestly say, there is no end to his talent. God bless you Rodney.
We all need to feel Rodney's heart and soul.....in these dark days......he gives hope.....

Rodney,you don't need any accolades from me, but here goes...you strike me as a man that is comfortable in his own skin and as such you have allowed the creativity and musical genius of your mind to produce these lovely masterpieces and I thank you!
As always, he brings a tear and a smile in the same song. I got the chance to thank him for helping me through some hard times at the Paramount Theater in Bristol Tennessee. Such a grounded, down to earth guy. Thanks again Mr. Crowell.

It's terrifically reassuring to have RC continuing to put out excellence followed by excellence.I've been a fan since "Till I gain control again"-my first exposure some 30 35 or so years ago now. Rodney is touring this summer-I'll be seeing him at Gruene Hall in June. Fantastic cut-I await the next album due out in May
Just ordered his prerelease cd the Chicago sessions that includes this song, I know people don’t buy many cd’s anymore but when you hear music played on a kickass sound system via cd it’s a whole new out of this world experience, I’m looking forward to receiving it!

When I saw this song on his new Chicago Sessions album & on the set list for second half of show, I was so excited , I have this song and several others from CS album, covered by different artists on my iPod. This song was an advert on here with no name of the artist. I then found out how to get the name. Absolutely gorgeous song. Such beautiful vocals. Such simple and classy music.
