Lucky you , i spent 3 days trying to release the carrier bearing on my 08 Lexus es350 and still wouldn't come out . I put penetrating oil , heat , everything , still no success so i ended up cutting the shaft on the transmission side and then broke the bolts loose on carrier and pulled it out and then separated carrier from the shaft off the car . I put an after market cv axle from Advance and six months later started vibrating again .

Yes ALWAYS use OEM parts for Toyota/Lexus vehicles if you want your repair to last. I learned the hard way on prior cars and now only parts directly from dealership go into the car.

I hammered on my 2004 Camry axle for 8 hours but I love the pickle fork trick you did. I tried unsuccessfully hammering from the rear using a piece of metal like punch. I ended up using my dremel to cut a section of the carrier bearing. I guess the only bright side was a new carrier bearing
