Hello congratulations for the video and the explanation, you have to place a Di-Box between the Radio and the Mixing Table, because of the different impedances between the radio, microphone and mixing table. So the audio will be much better. 73s
That is what I need...that adaptor connects the big phone jack into the little female jack that puts the audio from the mixer into the radio.....the little silver male/female jack....its at 5:31 minutes into the video....I cannot find one.
you should always set your main mix to unity (zero in the display) and alter the gain on the mic channel for gain. the main mix is not meant to be a volume control

Un cordon ça se fabrique . Il utilise 2 jacks (6.35 et 3.5) ainsi que 2 XLR (mâle et femelle) je viens d'en faire un pour mon Ic 746. Le plus dur étant de trouver le câble ! Bonne bricole. ;) 73 de F4DNP.
Hi ...Love your video...please get back to me and let me know if the mini (3.5mm) jacks are mono or stereo) Call sign is NE8J. Please post the answer here. 73's...Howard NE8J
Hi Howard, I use mono. And have also put a passive d. I. [direct input] box before the mixer, this is great for changing balanced to unbalanced signals before the radio and takes care of earthing issues as well. I also use large clip on hexagon ferrite rings on all Audio leads to stop stray rf. Hope this helps 73. Happy Easter Paul.

@@fordywatza Wont the Phanton power hurt the radio? I believe Heil uses a capacitor. For example, my Shure SM7B is dynamic, but needs phanton power to the CL-1 box, then cable protect the radio. I know phanton power on radio is about 8V but mixer phantom power is 48v.

@@fordywatza I got all of that, as the condenser need phanton power, but in new radios, such as the IC-7300 that I got, I have seen that phanton can damage the radio. I can do that as shown with a dynamic mic as no phanton needed. But Will keep researching. Thanks for the help. It may be the case that while the microphone in your set up uses phantom power for the mic, such phanton power will not come out of the mixing console out. That is basically my question of that make sense. I use the mixer with amplified speakers, but also fed to the radio when not.
Paul, great video very well explained. Appreciate the no-nonsense approach.
Thanks Brian 73
Should be using left/mono out to radio, then you wont need to pan right.
great video Paul
I can not stress the importance of a DI box as well.. This is something 99% of the videos leave out yet 60% of operators are struggling with noise.
Excellent video, good explanation

W2IHY iBox works very good. Can be used for line level or mic level.
Also to anybody, don’t forget to ground your mixer or else you will get terrible feedback. I learned this the hard way
also keep an eye on the alc on the radio. does that kenwood have ALC?
Very simple and concise description thank's 73
Great video Mr Ford & well put across 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼

Hi Paul. Thanks for sharing your video. Can the mixer desk be connected to two transceivers (so that you can use a common microphone)?
Yes Tim it can. Use one output ie [left main] for one radio [right main]for the other. But you might have to adjust your levels and eq for each radio!!
