They should have had 2 American companies called the NABC (North American Broadcasting Company) and the SABC (South American Broadcasting Company), so that when I want to search the Australian one, I wouldn't have to search using the full words Australian Broadcasting Corporation. I would just like to search ABC and not have to scroll so far down to see the Aussie one.

I do for sure. ABC was my go to after school in the 90's. I remember we had Power Rangers and A*Mazing on Channel 7 between 3:30 to 4:30, then we'd turn to ABC for shows like Arthur, The Ferals, The Wayne Manifesto, Fly Tales, Plasmo and George & Martha to name a few. In the 00's, I do remember The Basil Brush Show, Angela Anaconda, Horrible Histories (Animated), The Saddle Club and Bottle Top Bill to name a few. The Good ol' days of TV in Australia are far behind us sadly. Thank goodness for DVD's and VHS recordings from back then.

As a UK disabled viewer,is ABC TV a National Network,in the sence that ALL PROGRAMMES are broascast on ABC at the same time? Or is it like Americia different programme schedules in the different time zones? I am just wondering1 GOD BLESS!

The "main" channel, ABC1, is overwhelmingly national: the schedule has specific opt-out times in each state for daily local news (7pm), some local sport (Satuday afternoons), a weekly state-based current affairs program (Friday 7:30pm) and one-off special events (e.g. state elections) that are broadcast in just that state). Everything else on the ABC1 schedule is "down the pipeline out of Sydney to the rest of Australia". (Of course Sydney knows best, the principle of modern Australia.) The other 3 digital ABC stations - ABC2, ABC3 and ABC24 are as far as I know national services with no local content..Re "time zones - yes, programmes on ABC1 are put to air on "time delay" in SA/NT and WA so the nightly news is at 7pm everywhere. Chaos does ensue during Summer with introduction of daylight savings time.

David64T Thank You David647. The only programme that you can see on the internet here in the UK and around the world is Channel 9"s TODAY breakfast Show/programme. Is that broadcast nationally across australia or on a time-delay basis depending on which state you live in Australia? Also can I ask how is ABC TV and SBS TV funded? With a lience fee and no commercials like the BBC here in the UK or with ad breaks and a limted lience fee or some other mothod. One final question if I may,I am a gerat NRL fan! ALL NRL Games are shown on pay TV [Premier Sports] here in the UK and The Footy Show. How popular is the footy show and WHY OH WHY! does Channel 9 TV have commericial breaks during play in The Grand Final. [Even though we [in the UK] Don"t see the ad breaks] we know they are coming because the commentators go quiet. I ama disabled carrer for my elderly mother and older brother who [sadly] is dying of a brain tumour,so sorry for the wait in your reply? garry simpson AFAIK Channel 9"s TODAY is broadcast "on delay" around Australia at the same clock time - here in Adelaide only ABC24 is broadcast "live to air", all the other primary stations (SBS, 7, 9, 10) are usually on 30 minute delay as per the "Central Australia" timezone. ABC and SBS are both government funded, no licence fees, SBS carries some advertising. Commercial TV has commercials - not much can be done about it; Channel 9 personalities and their production crews have to eat too. The "good old days" in Australia of major sport on ABC TV (without commercials) are long gone sadly. All the best with your families health issues, your role as a carer deserves all the thanks you get if not more!

David64T Thank You David 647. I have found Australia Plus and I love it! The first programme I saw was Talk ABOUT IT From ABC NEWS 24. About gambling in Australia. What is a Pokkie/! But this is all from ABC TV? Australia Plus I mean? As for being congraulated for being a carrer,far from it .One carrer called Russell thinks I tell untruth"s ALL THE TIME and if it wasn"t for my dying brother Barry [who has gven me upto £800 this year I would not be able to go out at all,let alone to Rest Bite care [Which are disabled holidays for disabled people like myself [In my case with Cerbral Palsy] who has had 13 operations in my 50 years of life 7 Cerbral Palsy and 6 to remove 6 goal bladders and 1 goaoul stone. This co-alition goverment [CONSERTIVE/LIBERAL] is making finacies difficult. I was not having a go at Channel 9s NRL Grand Final coverage I just wondered why Channel 9 has commericials during play in it"s NRL coverage. Here in the UK there is a protected list of sporting events. Meaning the 5 old anaglougue broadcasters BBC 1,BBC 2 ITV,Channel 4 and the last one Channel 5 can broadcast sporting events LIVE AND FREE [As Network 7 would state] Like this year WINTER OLYMPICS BBC TV SOCCER WORLD CUP in Brazil BBC/ITV Grand National Channel 4 and next year 2015 RUGBY UNION WORLD CUP ITV.. So in sports coverage the BBC is in a far better state than ABC TV in Australia. I forgot to SKY PLUS The Mourbourne Cup this year . I understand two horses were killed? What happened? I loved this year"s BATHURST 1000 I saw the whole 7 and a half hour race on Motors TV. They broacast it LIVE but I SKY PLUSED IT and saw it on a 12 hour time delay! At the end of Network 7s coverage they said turn over to 7 Lite and 7 too. What do they broadcast. Any ways my 50th Birthday Party coming up on Monday November 10th. 30 people coming.
