The dealership service center said the “transmission side” cam plug is leaking, and I had no idea how to get to it. Thanks for the explanation. Saved me $610.47US. No joke, that was their exact price quote for the leak fix.
I can’t thank you enough buddy for pointing me towards this little thing. Even my mechanic was confused as oil was still leaking even after changing valve cover gasket. Thank you!
no worries glad this video helps out.
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!! I’ve been trying to find out my leak and this was IT!!! Driver side Camshaft Thrust Cover if anyone is wondering. It COMES with o ring too
no worries
I subscribed to your channel because I like the way you take your time and explain how to do your maintenance. Also, focusing in and zooming your camera is done very well, I can easily see what you are doing. Thanks!!
Michael Valone thank you . Really appreciate the support.
Thanks Buddy. My Honda has the same r18a engine. Definitely a good idea to get the plugs just in case.
Yes sir 😁
Thanks for the vid! I was worried I would need to remove the valve cover to get the front cam plug out, after I already replaced the valve cover gasket and discovered later that the plug seal is also leaking.
no problems , yes this one seal plug is very common issue for these R series Honda engines.
@@FelixDanGarasiAuto indeed it is. When I first purchased my 06 Civic Ex sedan with the R18, it was leaking oil from just about everywhere on the head. Valve cover gaskets, vtec solenoid gasket, and now front and rear cam seals. I already had the engine steam cleaned after tackling the valve cover and vtec gaskets. Those were leaking the most. But I want 100% leak free! Steam cleaning was worth it. I discovered after that the inner cv boots on both axles were starting to leak. I also discovered the PS pump to have a leak. Both fixed. These cam seals are the last of the leaks to resolve.
You are a pro, buddy. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks sir
kool video love your driving
Appreciate it :)
Thank you sir!

Baik om felix. Terima kasih balasannya. Tp bisa video nya jgn dipercepat....maklum msh belajar om...supaya bisa ngikuti..terima kasih. Sehat selalu om felix...jaga kesehatan...lg musim covid nih..
Great video, thank!
Thank you sir. If you havent please subscribe :).
Saved me bro... Thanks much
No worries bro
How many hours need to wait before turning on the engine after replacing the rear cam plug?
you can start the engine right away 👌
Sir, i would like to ask you, it's a little bit out of content.
How do you compare the acceleration between CRV RE 2.0 and the common LMPV with 1500cc engine?
Is the 2.0 really underpowered?
Thx
I think this engine 2.0 is good. It has a good acceleration. And good fuel consumption.
@@FelixDanGarasiAuto thank you sir
when you took the car to the dealer did the Honda dealership check out you’re car or did you just go to pick up new pieces?
Just picked up the new pieces.
Hello bro! Trying to take out the cam metal cap on a 2008 Honda Civic I broke the part where one of the bolts was and I couldn’t get the whole piece out. How can undo now to solve the oil leak? Is it possible to push it out from the inside if I remove the valve cover?
Yes replace it . Remove the rocker cover and remove it from the inside.
@@FelixDanGarasiAuto excuse me bro, what is the rocker cover? Is it the same as the valve cover?
@@LuisRodriguez-bn8be Yes correct. Valve cover.
@@FelixDanGarasiAuto thanks bro. Is there really enough space to push it from the inside? It seems pretty tight in there from the pictures I have seen
1000like nice and simply . Good man
Thank you for your support Bryan. Very much appreciated.
Do you have other video on oil leakage with this type of engine?

Good video it help me with my civic I just subscribe just next time can you remove all that extra driving and all the fake noise it makes the video long and annoying to watch.
No worries. Thank you.

hello Felix, how much is the price? do buy it at Bengkel Resmi Honda?
Agus Salim . iya bro beli nya di bengkel resmi honda . kedua seal nya rp 150rb.
haha mantab bro, thanks
Yours popped right out. I'm literally bleeding and it tore apart in 20 pieces and now it's stuck in there with nothing to grab onto
damm thats gotta be a pain in the butt. Best is to pull the rocker cover off and try to push it out from there.
@@FelixDanGarasiAuto thank you for that advice 🙏
@@FelixDanGarasiAuto It's the type that don't have the prongs so I was pulling on something that would never come out with out that cover off lol 😆
