I live in Wisconsin and we very seldom see blood oranges being sold in our grocery stores. Last summer, I saw and ate my first blood orange and could not believe how sweet and wonderful it tasted. If they sold them regularly that is all I would eat. Thanks for posting your video as they look fantastic.
I haven't had a blood orange since my dad was stationed in Germany back in the early 70's, they tasted so good that I still remember how good they were. Thanks for your video! 😊👍🏻
The blood oranges you cut up looked so tasty! I bet the red looks brighter in person! Aaawww, so glad you still have the pot! Big hugs to you and Gary 😊
The Oranges 🍊 are the best. Thanks for sharing this video👍🏼
My mouth was watering!

You have a beautiful blood orange there Robbie and I agree with you the citrus fruit bloom scent is amazing! I refuse to buy any fruit that is seedless, I just personally believe it's wrong.
I take it you don't eat bananas.
Same here. God doesnt make fruit that cant reproduce. Its been messed with genetically. We havent had grapes with seeds in Michigan for at least 3 years. I refuse to buy food messed with
I never knew about the orange seeds not germinating if they dry out. That is why mine have never sprouted ... Thanks for the info :)
There are a lot of fruit seeds that can not dry out to germinate, Papaya, jack-fruit....I cut some oranges today, and they were some seeds just sprouting inside the fruit. 😀 Robbie
Good to know :)
I did the same, wondering why the have sprouted yet. Now I know.. thank you..
So those seeds sold online mostly are dead?they lie to us that are fresh, thats why no one came back to add a comment that they have sprouted😥
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy then how to buy its seeds online ?

Where can this fruit be found??
Beautiful fruit!
What a wonderful fruit discovery!
What an awesome fruit discovery....don't know why this fruit isn't more widely available
How do you graft to make a blood orange tree. What plus what equals into an orange tree. I did buy a grafted blood orange tree amongst other citrus trees but how do you do that?
Can I get a cutting? I love the size!
How do you graph a tree? that would be a great vid..Thanks
WHEN we master graphing, we will get a video up, really have not done that YET. Thanks, Robbie
Are blood orange heirloom???? Where can seeds, seedlings or saplings be bought?
I'm in SC, can you tell me where Blood oranges themselves can be bought?
THE MARKET. II AM GROWING 1 OUT OF A BLOOD ORANGE MY SON ATE
EDIT: Is this the SAME tree as the one called 'Maltese Blood Orange'??
Thanks Robbie, now I want one, yesss.
From what I believe, there are a few common types of Blood Oranges, with the most common being Tarocco, Sanguinello and Moro. The Maltese along with a dozen other are less common. Going my the tag, it said this one was a Moro, not a Maltese. That right now is the best I can do 🤔, thanks, Robbie
Thanks I'll check around at the nurseries here.
Oh also wanted to suggest to you to google "greek spoon sweets orange" - my mum used to make these with the orange peels and it was yerrmmmy. It would be a tasty way to use up the peels other than composting.

Just picked up this tree at my local Home Depot. It says it is Hardy to 30 degrees F.
Wow, it looks amazing! How old is it?
Garden love I second that question?
I think it is around 15 years old.
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy I grow over twenty citrus varieties near Houston. I find that blood oranges are the least cold hardy of the round oranges. I have had Ruby, Moro, Torocco, and my fav Sanguinelli. I had another variety that may be a completely new one that I gave to my older son because he has space for more than me.
@@larrytischler570, hi, do you think you can get me about 6 seeds..just incase they don't all germinate. Will pay shipping
@@marionlewis555 we are under HLB ban from shipping.
Hi Robbie and Gary, is it possible to send me some your blood orange seed please?
Robbie this blood orange doesn't look like it was grafted. There is a very easy way to do grafting but you need a sharp grafting knife and grafting film. A couple weeks ago I grafted lime into my lemon tree. I am trying to add moro or sanguinello to it. I started my lemon tree from a cutting and it's now 7ft tall. I am looking for a pistachio tree if you know of any nurseries that carry it please let me know.
Don't know where you're located, but there's a nursery in Apache Junction, Az that has them.
Say hi to Antifia
Where is your growing your blood oranges?
Can you assist with some blood orange seeds please? Please I'm interested!
I want to plant one in the yard...Do deer eat them? Do they attract bees?
Deer will eat citrus trees when they are hungry enough.
Hi, nice fruit. I need a seed Mam. I am not able to find any fruit or plant anywhere. Pls pls pls
I have a Moro blood orange tree it is approximately 6 years old and has never flowered so has never fruited, I live in Az so there is plenty of sun, it is a really nice looking tree, wondering if I should cut it down and start over, any clue on how I can save this tree
Depends on where you are in AZ. I live in Las Vegas and our soil here sucks. My lemon tree needs more water and fertilizer every 6 weeks. I also planted mine in a raised planter so I could have better soil on top. We really need to augment our soil here if you want to grow anything beyond sagebrush and cactus. I know they say full sun, but here in Vegas, I try to avoid afternoon sun on damn near everything because it's so hot and harsh.
She said she put wood chips down n they grew
Did you buy the tree or grow from seed?
What's name of this variety blood orange ?
where can we buy seedlings of that madam robie? can we order the seedlings and have shipped it worldwide?i really need this im from philippines
My Sanguinelli blood orange is sour...is there anything you do for your fruits to get sweet? Newbie here... thank you
Have you let them rippen fully on the tree, here in the UK mine are really sweet if let rippen fully, you will know if it is fully ripe when the skin is fully red
Try not to overwater. Oranges grow the bulk of their roots in the top 6" of soil and spread out to about 2/3 the width of the canopy, which is why the wood chip mulch worked so well for Robbie. Other plants, weeds and grass will steal nutrients and water from the orange tree, so you have to keep them away. Also, fertilize every 6 weeks for a young tree. After the 2nd year, every 6-8 weeks. But remember, they are hungry trees so you need a large dose of fertilizer. Specific citrus fertilizers can be hit or miss, so I like an all around 8-8-8 for my lemon and kumquats. They do well with compost if you work it lightly into the top couple inches. Just remember to water thoroughly after chemical fertilizers so the salts don't burn the tree.
@@Clean97gti a wonderful advice
Do u sell cutting?
I have a 3 years old dwaft blood orange and it's about 2 feet tall. Why is that so short and not growing. Do you know why? Thanks
where did you buy your seedlings madam?maybe it lacked nutrition so maybe it would be good if you can fertilize it...or put some organic fertilizer unto it...
Can I buy scion wood of your blood orange?
What region in the US do you live? I’d like to grow a couple but
live in central NC, don’t know if they’d survive the winters.
We are in So California, thanks, Robbie
If anyone reads this, most citrus fruits don't tolerate freezing temperatures very well. I live in Las Vegas and we need to wrap our lemon and kumquat trees in the winter because we do get freezing temps overnight on occasion. If you have hard freezes, citruses are basically a no-go unless you keep them potted. Kumquats are great in pots though! A dwarf kumquat does great in a nice big pot. The occasional deep watering keeps soil moist without soaking the top few inches. Some mulch on top and you're good. Fertilize every 6 weeks for a young tree.
I will be highly obliged If, you can able to send some dropped down fruits from tree to me please!!!
I want to buy that plant, please suggest me were to buy this plant.
had you bought a seedling of this already sir?can you suggest where to buy ?im from philippines and could have it shipped in the philippines...i hope
