Darren Stewart That was just the estimate set by the auction, it may have gone for less or more but I didn't get to see what it went for - thanks for the comment.
Ur welcome, very much doubt a general auction would have the kind of bidders there to get the best price out of it,if i was the owner i would have advertised it through classic ford magazines etc where the audience for that kind of specialist car would appreciate the work gone into it and would have paid a good price for it,hope it went to a good home
Darren Stewart I have to agree with you there - custom cars like this usually take longer to find the right buyer as it mostly appeals to a specialist audience. Better to wait out for the right price for a car like this in my opinion; an auction is a good alternative if you need to sell quickly though.
This is coming up for sale again on the 4th of April - An estimate of £4,500 - £6,500 has been given: www.angliacarauctions.co.uk/en/classic-auctions/latest-classic-car-catalogue/saturday-4th-april-2015/1979-ford-capri-s-57/
Why would you put a Small Block Chev engine in a Capri when you could put a Small Block FORD engine in it? Sacrilege.....Put the Chev motor in an Opel or Vauxhall but not in a Ford.
its on ebay now www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1979-mk-2-Ford-Capri-5-7-v8-Chevy-Edelbrock-Blue-One-Off-Blue-American-/331538404486?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4d313a9486
Wrong... the Capri you are thinking of is the 1976 and 1977 Mercury Capri imported into the United States (same body as the German built Ford Capri, and looks just like this Essex Ford Capri which is a right hand drive car) ...This video says 1979 and therefore it IS a Ford Capri. A 1979 Mercury Capri was a Fox body car built in the United States which this clearly is not!
At least put in a FORD engine. it's not like here aren't any around ! O wait, FORD's don't break down so there are none on scrap.... I drove my Mondeo into a BMW, I got away with €125,- the Beemer was totaled!
Die Leute lernen es einfach nicht, an einen Capri V6 gehört entweder eine originale RS Auspuffanlage, oder eine CSC, Sportex oder Janspeed Auspuffanlage und nicht dieser scheiss Ami Sidepipe Müll
This is right up my street, i'd love to get this car !
I love this Capri! I want it! I'm a Capri owner myself but I'd love this one
It really was nicely done and like usual, sounded much better and louder in person! I would love to have a 3.0S someday :-)
***** I think next year I'm going to remove my 2.2 pinto and go v8. Did you see what this sold for?? Wish I knew who owned it lol
I had a ford Capri in 1981. Mine had chrome bumpers.
I'd love to pro tour a Capri. Completely modernise it. Alas pockets aren't deep enough :/
Can't remember exactly but I recall the estimate was something like £5.5k-7k, didn't see what it went for though.
Nice car ur estimate is too low,i think roughly the value has to b at least £10.000

Wow, what did this actually sell for?
It sounds so wrong! Why they didn't install a 351 windsor ?
its for sale again on ebay for £15k
WHY NOT USE A ESSEX-OR A MUSTANG SETUP
It's got a sweet v8. Who gives a shit if it's not a Ford engine? Miserable sods.

How could someone disgrace an almost perfect car by putting in GM shit?
