  • Is the CAT DX13 with the Graphene battery a better drill for the same money as the Milwaukee M18 2904?
    I dyno'd the DX12 (DX11) and DX13 against the 2904.
    The DX11 is the same as the DX12 but without the hammer function.

      Yep that way its consistant and I can keep both hands on the drill.
      Wanted to go with a PWM valve until I looked the price up of a none compensated PWM valve.
      Almost all test videos on YT show people drilling into wood, I wanted something that could be consistent and repeatable to keep things fair. Way to many variables I feel with testing in wood.

    In our country, Milwaukee costs on average 2 times more expensive than a CAT if you buy from an official dealer. People take CAT for home and DeWalt or MAKITA for work - it's just cheaper. Russia.

    Drill- Packedge in typical box, came with a tool bag (added bonus), two batteries, one charger, drill, and driver. Two words "plenty of Torque" ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv well I guess that's three. Nice upgrade from current setup. Has belt clips, I don't think I will be using those. Driver and drill were bigger than what I expected but it is an upgrade from the current setup. For the money I would say that this is a great setup for Professionals and DIY/Weekend warriors.

    I see the CAT as a very poor deal. Been looking around for another drill. Right now you can get a FLEX 24-volt 1/2-in Brushless Cordless Drill, 2 Batteries 5Ah & 2.5Ah and Charger on sale at lowes for $179 ($50 off).

    My main reason for even considering the cat would be the fact that the battery is supposed to persist through more charge discharge cycles and charge faster. I worked at a company that used Milwaukee but their batteries were so worn out from so many cycles that my new 2 amp hour on my impact would last as long as the 5 amp hours at least. I never ran it out with the impact at that job, but using it in the blower we used for blowing out roof top units I could throw my 2 amp hour on after we ran out of big batteries and get just as much out of it. As long as the batteries don't cost twice as much to replace I think that alone would make it make sense for a company, if it does truly survive double the amount of cycles.

    Interesting set of results. I haven't really seen CAT battery powered tools here in the UK. The odd time I have seen them, they are very expensive, usually a lot more than the other main brands. I guess it depends on what you want the actual tool for, I wonder how many would actually drive it that hard in actual work, more likely battery life time would be the higher concern.

    The Milwaukee won but not by much

    • @Tools-Tested
      @Tools-Tested  Рік тому +5

      I think the Milwaukee has much more to give, definitely on speed one. It powered through the dyno with the 5ah. It will be interesting when I set the dyno for high power.
      Yeah I don't think the CAT drills are bad, but your defiantly paying a high premium for the name.

      @francisdaoust5862 16 днів тому

      If you want to improve your testing. You should find a way to know the capacity of discharge of the battery. That where the power came from. The number of amp/hours is not relevant without the capacity of discharge. If a 5amp battery have 1c (capcity of discharge) it will produce a constant 5amp for 1 hour. If it have 3c, it will produce 15amp for 20min wich is 3 time the power output possibility but for a shorter period. Some lithium polimer battery (not lithium ion) have up to 150c and 300c in burst. Just a sugestion😊
