I think if you let your bike rot like this, then you should not be surprised it fails you. The bike is rarely the problem. The problem usually is poor maintenance and poor mechanic skills.
bro, I would bring it to a workshop if I were you. breaking all those engine mounts just because you're stubborn or don't have the experience to do it isn't good!
Pitty that there is NO narration (speech explanation) on this video. What was the failure? A shaft-end in the gearbox that wore out? Did you fit an insert?
I dont get it. The cracked mountings/castings could be down to any number of reasons. I used to own DR600's (had 3 of them) and they were a really good bike...IF looked after well. Saw a DR800, but never got to ride one.
WHY BOTHER ????????? WHERE is the wisdom in all of this ?????? For WHAT gain? How much Time and $ went into all of this? How much could you then sell the DR 800 For? WHY BOTHER, BAD Decision. PERIOD.

This is bears all the signs of bad ownership. All the problems are easily avoided by looking after it a bit better.

Storing a motorcycle outside is hard on them! Looks like lack of proper care cascaded into internal failures, to me ...?

I just replaced this bearing, transmission, oil pump. :-)
That's a shame. You never know with old bike engines, could be great or.. like this one :-(
