No it doesn't.
It can't roam at will.
It is entirely stand off.
Ukraine flying drones deep into Russian territory is also not air superiority.
"Air Superiority" has a defined meaning in military circles. No Russia does not have air superiority because it can't cross into Ukrainian air space with out being shoot down. In a real sense, Russia can only fly above Russian held territory. Having air superiority over another's air space means you can fly over that air space with a low risk of getting targeted.

24:44 It's not an "incredibly delicate situation" it's an unwinnable war. The "winning" outcomes are so few and so unlikely, it's like flipping a coin and betting it will land on its edge:
- Russia stays intact, Ukraine surrenders, that's a loss.
- Ukraine wins, pushes Russia out, Russia escalates to nuclear weapons to avoid defeat:
- NATO does nothing, Russia wins, that's a loss.
- West responds to Russian nuclear escalation, total nuclear war, also a loss.
- Russia collapses, regime change:
- Nuclear armed civil war in Europe, all bets are off, that's also a loss.
- The military takes over Russia, pushes for total war, that's also a loss.
- West miraculously gives just enough aid to prevent defeat of either side, but not enough for Ukrainian victory. Front line stabilizes into the dream "bleeding Russia dry" scenario. Except Ukraine will bleed out first, they have less men, less industry, less defense etc. etc. Russia wins, also a loss.
The entire bet is on regime change in Russia, where the Russian government is violently overthrown by peace loving pro-western faction, and this is then supported by the military and the people, in a country that just lost 10s of thousands KIA by western weapons, suffered multiple hardships due to western sanctions and had a massive exodus of all pro-western elites.
Looking at this war, and thinking through it for even 5 min makes it crystal clear how inept, shortsighted and entirely uninterested in long term thinking the political class in EU/US is. They just think about the next good headline and no further, hoping against hope that things will just "work out" somehow. Well, they didn't in Iraq, they didn't in Afghanistan, or Libya, or Syria, they are going south in Israel and Ukraine will be just the same. It's sad how the one thing everyone seems to agree on in modern governments (and business) is that perception is more important than reality. It is, but only until your perceptions collide head on with realities. In domestic affairs, they instantly scream too big to fail and demand the public bail them out, but that doesn't work in war. The wars are lost, lives and moneys are wasted, and this is followed by a massive effort to brush all this under the carpet.
The west was looking to use sanctions to return russia to its 1990s box. The USA got the win they wanted. Blew up nordstream to make US petro companies billions, weakened Europe, weakened russia exports, moved manufacturing from Europe to the USA. Everything is working out well for the USA, just not for Europe(which includes russia)...but the entire empire is now weaker because of Israel. The global south can see how weak and full of lies the USA is.
Have you seen the Ukrainian defense lines in Kharkov, oblast? The dragon teeth were piled up alongside the road just dumped. I guess a lot of money was stolen.
Such first layer of a defense line, which exists to slow down an attacking enemy, is pretty pointless anyway when you lack the major defenseline with all the artillery, missiles system, aviation and so on.
Zelensky snorted the defense line.
Or they simply lack the manpower to build the defenses.
@@LB-oz9hv no man... they stole it... the easily could have built it... they just stole everything from Ukraine and are leaving the sinking ship bit by bit....
@@miriamweller812it's literally dumped, not lined up. Just dumped in one place. One month ago zelensky film himself on kharkov showing "great" progress in making the defense line. Funny how the inconsistency shows through these reports. Willy says 80,000 isn't enough to take Kharkiv.......but 40,000 was a serious threat to Kiev in 2022. Does this not tell you that Russia never intended to take Kiev and it was just pressure to get Ukraine to the negotiation table.
Yes, the Russian push on Kiev was to pressure Zelensky to negotiate. Putin said when Russia and Ukraine began peace negotiations back in 2022 he pulled his forces back from Kiev as a sign of good will. Obviously the west scuttled the negotiations and here we are.
You are correct . We are just surrounded by blind mice . Glad to see you are one of the cats . Great to have ya
they dont even need many people they did slow down on kharkiv because ukraine sent kraken to the north, kraken is one of the top ukraine if not the top recon/drone unit and also they sent to north some brigades from around avdeevka so we might see big gains around Donetsk next weeks for RU because 47th mecanize brigade is rip, 87 air assault is not at the full power and also 3rd azov unit gets a taste of russians around Krasnahorivka.

It's the usual fog of war. All the maps are biased or inaccurate to some degree. Some show changes in control while territory is still contested. Willy keeps saying geolocate though, so at least provide some evidence to support map claims. If Russia is still pursuing a war of attrition, the maps matter less anyway. It's much the same with speculation around Kharkiv. Russia may just encircle it, cut the supply lines and beseige it rather than try to capture it by assaulting.

I remember in back in the early days of the war, Weeb Union (the Danish youtuber) said he thought Ukraine would get smashed, then get angry, then rejoin Russia and together exact vengeance on the Europeans that pushed them to war. I remember thinking he was delusional, but the idea stuck with me. As the war has dragged on I'm not so sure anymore. Today I saw a video featuring Mikhail Khodorkovsky, and he pretty much suggested the same thing would happen.

Ukranians know what their future is with the Russians.
Nothing, nowhere, on their knees.
They have said no to Putin and he doesn't know what to do.
Dictators don't like it when their subjects say ...
NO.
The funny thing is, Russia has never invaded Europe to seize territory or impose its values, never had colonies, never enslaved people of a different colour. And at the same time, the West has always for some reason been afraid of a "scary and cruel" Russia periodically trying to conquer it and declaring Russian people wrong. In the Middle Ages, Europeans did not hesitate to buy and sell Slavs as slaves (even these two words are so similar in English), ignoring that Slavs were white Christians. For the Russians, there is nothing new in confronting the West. The West has forgotten how wars against Russia usually end. Or did he just remember and that’s why he prefers to fight with bought and cheated fools?
I agree with you, but it's surprising that no one has accused you of being a Russian troll yet.
Without realising it, you’ve narrowed down the people that have caused these wars for centuries.

Why cannot they just split up the country as the people votes in the different oblasts.
Why having a war and try to force the people in Crimera to join NATO?
It's a dream as Slovakia and Hungary will just veto any applications whatsoever. Blinken don't controls NATO as he claims.

The Western countries won't send troops to Ukraine for a couple reasons. 1, they don't have the ammo capacity to sustain operations for longer than a few weeks as their current arsenals show. 2, most NATO countries militaries are small and rely on the US nuclear umbrella to protect them. 3, and this is the biggest issue, their economies would collapse in a few months if they had to invest the type of money the US is currently supplying to Ukraine alone. Even the US wouldn't be able to sustain operations, especially because if they send troops, that's a wrap, enjoy living in Fallout world
Also the current crippling apathy in Europe relating to our incompetent goverment, if the standard of living dropped any lower and thousands of coffins started arriving, the current establishment wouldn't survive the next elections
@@thatonejoey1847the people in their 20s are too comfortable to bother with war, you tell people they might live for over 100 years when they're born, then ask them to die at 18? No, thanks.
Do you believe in this propaganda you produce? NATO would knock out Russias conventional forces in one week. The western air power is far too strong. The war in Ukraine is an artillery war because both has weak air force. Thats not the case with NATO. F-35 are incredible planes. Besides: EU will produce 2 million shells/year mid 2025 and US will reach 1,2 million. It's about 10-fold of their earlier capacity.
Russia completely blinded HATO with EW at the start of the Northern offensive. Still going on. Don't worry, HATO is very worried.
Hato.
With the capital H!
Oh, oh oh hee hee.
What a wit!
Chur willy! You finally said envelop correctly 👏 🙌
Russia isn't going to stop until they take Odessa, so let's negotiate before that happens. Without Odessa port Ukraine has no where to sell their grains to, it would be an economic disaster. I can appreciate the desire to fight to the bitter end, but come on, let's have some common sense. Ukraine will still exist tomorrow and Ukrainians still have to make a living.
Not many people wanna buy Ukrainian grain .
Could be even worse.... take a look at a 1654 map.... landlocked and Rumania etc. Will get their historical lands back
Common Sense.. ?
are talking the National Zionists here!
Rusia hast wanted or started that, usa is the reason we have so many wars.
Regarding that GLSDB strike that destroyed the hospital in Volchansk - such thorough destruction indicates Ukraine does not expect to get that territory back.
Evening all, time for Willy's spin on events. _

Thanks for your in depth coverage of this war.

I remember when the russians were attacking Avdivvka and Bakhmut, it was small amounts of man power and a couple armored columns just poking trying to find an opening into the cities and then 10s of thousands of russians just started pouring in, if Russia manages to get a landing on Kharkiv, i bet we will easily see 50,000+ soldiers from the rear pour into it and take the city in a few months
Change name to Bagdad Bob.

Willy is getting nonsensical again , never mentions Ukrainian loses
Wily Wonka channel!
70% of casualties on both sides is to arty. Funny, but it's the same as in WW1 Western front and WW2 Eastern front. If Russia has advantage in arty fire, the conclusion regarding casualty exchange rate is pretty obvious.
"Russia does not have air superiority"
Meanwhile the Russians are raining glide bombs with impunity... What exactly constitutes "air superiority" according to Zelensky?
Don't act ignorantly, we all do know who is going to win and prevail. Your Ukrainian soft spot makes you imply some delusional shit sometimes
It’s over . 50,000 vs 4000 no reinforcements 😳 I feel sorry for the guys on the ground . They are lucky it’s not the soviet army as they wasn’t fans of prisoners ! FREEPALESTINE🏴🇵🇸🇷🇺🇺🇸

Here's a little reality check regarding the oil facility strikes. The targets are usually the storage portion of the facilities and not the production part for maximum effect. Let's do some math to see how much damage these strikes do. 1x oil industry size barrel is 42 gallons. The current (at the time of writing this) cost of WTI crude oil is $77.23 per barrel. This means about 1.84 dollars to the gallon. Yes, what you pay at the pump is taxed, then taxed again, then taxed again for good measure. So, let's image Ukraine manages somehow to burn 100,000 gallons of crude per strike. This would be in no way low balling the damage done. Time for some simple math; 100,000 x 1.84 = 184,000 dollars' worth of damage. The general consensus is that 80% of the oil refinery strikes are done with the "Liutyi" which estimated costs run at about 100,000 dollars. More than likely, it costs more but we'll stick with that figure. This means each strike costs Russia around 84,000 dollars. From what I've found, about 22ish strikes have been made as of the 9th of May. This means the damage done to Russia is under 2 million dollars or about half the cost of the cheapest variant of a t90 tank. Puts things into perspective now doesn't it.
This is like the American civil war with 21st century technology
Remember the confederacy did well winning battles etc but the greater population and industrial capacity of the Union prevailed in the end
Territorial gains were not huge and was a war of attrition.
This is not a civil war.
An interesting little detail dropped here.
For 10 years people were told to prepare defences in the north? That is pretty much an outright admission that Ukraine and the west at the very least knew this war was likely since the coup back in 2014. If they did not outright plan it.
I think part of the disconnect on the front may be that -- its not that artillery didn't show up its just that Russia targetted the artillery. This means POOF no more artillery. Has nothing to do with it being supplied.
The Ukies need 500.000 men to replace the 30.000 they lost
Thank you for finally speaking facts, Willy. Ukraine has been doomed from the start and Russia is now amping up the pressure. Russia has already knocked out every western tank that’s been provide; as seen in the Moscow display. From my knowledge, Russia has only lost 2 tanks. That was also only due to mechanical failures. Thank you Willy for providing truth and facts. 🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺
Short but sweet.
Electronic jamming has proven to be extraordinarily effective at disabling drones.
In response to this Ukraine has put on signal boosters and set up a Daisy chain of ttansmitter drones so AFU can bypass Russian electronic warfare emplacements
I’m a dual British citizen and I can say I’m ashamed to be be British, I 100% support the Russian military in this conflict 👍👍👍
He seems pretty unbiased to me. Couple days ago he was saying how bad Ukraine was doing
That there is a sharp lookin Willy.
Russia had 30k personnel available to attack Kharkiv with possibly another 20k in reserve so this isn't as big as many think.
Only if Ukraine has that number of troops to defend Kharkiv
If wars were won by PR videos alone, the Ukrainian tanks would be in Vladivostok in 2022. Sadly, Wars require more than PR videos to win.
He is Australian. That says it all !
🗽🕊 Happy Whitsun holidays to all warriors... freedom for the people!

Blinken has said US is not restricting their equipment to be used in Russia, they just don’t encourage it.
Plus “liquidated” troops includes permanently injured and captured I imagine.
Mate, those high casualties that you were pointing out was from Bakhmut, January to April, during Ukraine greatest counteroffensive the Rus casualties dropped again, so... what are you talking about?
Another day, another 6 million dead Russians with shovels and Ukraine lost 1 person with a tactical retreat 5km
We won’t be ready to see our soldiers die but we mostly won’t be ready too see war leap from our screens to our neighbourhoods. When war comes to our doorsteps, it’ll be nothing like we’ve imagined.
So how long will the conflict last…
Why it ended up in a armistice/frozen conflict
I heard that! Amazing accuracy with their artillery too,,, with just 10% of the artillery, and what they have on the front being of generally lesser range... they still manage to pummel the Russians, while withdrawing 'strategically' to new defensive positions..... on lower ground... and trapping (positioning really) themselves behind downed bridges; so the Russians cannot escape westward, to the rest of the country!
Did you just say "strategic positions on lower ground"?🤦♀️
We do know Willy, yiu just need to catch up with those who know
Hello Willy, keep up the good job.
What I wanted to say is that you are correct that no two wars are the same, but there are a lot of similarities that we can compare. 60% of casualties in ww1 were from artillery just like we see now in Ukraine. Atrittion is the same regardless of whether its ww2 or Ukraine. Germany ran out of soldiers, especially mechanized infantry in ww2. There are plenty of economical similarities. The way Russia bombs Ukraines infrastructure has changed (drones and missiles instead of bomberfleets as in ww2) but the effect is the same.
As for the operational level, Germany knew the allies were about to assault the french coast in 1944, they just didnt where exactly. The Soviets knew Germany was going to attack the Kursk salient and General Model knew that it would fail and a counterattack would develop(operation Kutusov). The ability of participants in the war, to see what the enemy is doing has definitly improved but the idea that a ww2 army had no idea what the enemy was doing in war is false, however.
I do compare the two, eventhough they arent exactly the same, they are similar enough to act as a guide when looking at the current conflict. And it definitly teaches one, what is and isnt possible(like Dnipr crossings for example, that a lot of people thought would lead to Ukrainian succes but really just cost a lot of lives).
I struggle to believe that there was no oversight to check to see whether the northern defensive works were actually built. It's too late now.
