The Honda Pan European has a reputation for being very reliable, trouble-free, with an indestructible engine and cheap maintenance. (several friends have one). Can the same be said for the Kawasaki GTR 1400? I hesitate between a Pan European, a Yamaha FJR 1300 and a Kawasaki GTR 1400. Thank you for the information.

The kawi is very fast and has more modern equipment, but the 1300 pan is my favourite. In fact im going to buy another one next year for a long road trip around the uk.
Doesn't the ZX14 have like 50 more HP? So its this fast detuned. I don't need 50 more HP but 25 more would be nice. Is there an easy way to pick up power on these bikes?
Kawasaki Concours 14, wind protection shaft drive, looks the same w bag's off, faster than you'd expect! btw, after years, never rode w bag's on, pointless, it's my toy. You'll be lucky to keep your license!
Engines are the same, but hp to the wheel are different cause of chain drive and shaft drive 😉 PS these bikes are tunable quite easy for me hp, but trust me they don’t need that 😁
@@Dzinbhudist I think the cams are not as aggressive and the throttle body is smaller (40mm vs 44mm) and it is 158 HP vs 176 for the same year but the new zx14 has 207HP so you are right, the potential is there.. That just means it will last forever with good maintenance. After riding mine on a few road trips I think it has already been flashed. It doesn't have fueling issues.
@@heathmurtagh7728 That's almost 260 kph. It actually does feel a bit dead at that point, bit disappointing but hey I'm getting older I'm supposed to be slower, ya right. 😆
@@Dzinbhudist Not stock. No it cannot. Best I have done is 260 on the Multistrada. Haven't opened the throttle full on the Super Adventure S. But I am not convinced that they can do 270+.
But being thrashed about by the wind as your a foot or so taller, been there and done that, hunkered down behind that huge screen and massive fairing getting to my destination, what wind???
I love passing w my C14, not on a multi lane freeway, but when behind a string of cars on my local country roads.

Ive a 2010 model too, such a pleasure to ride, fast. response and agile once rolling.

@@smoke05s shaft drive as well reduces hp to the wheel, but anyway both bikes are insanely fast and not for beginners 😉
It's not only the shaft drive. It is heavier because it is touring and the gears are designed for more torque than speed to handle weights.
Fastest I've had mine up to is 250. Beast is good, I call mine a high speed bullet train. 😉
I did 160 mph this morning in 5th , it was about done at that point. Needs a little more power.
