I think Tom Selleck is remarkable because of all the roles he has had from modeling to movies to series to his latest show Blue Blood!
The reason I love the show so much is that the Reagans are a real family. They fight, they disagree. Yet the love they have for one another is strong and they are loyal to each other. They pull together as a family in times of crisis and glory in the good times. The dinner is the best part of the show for me as they interact as a real family would.
Cathie Soli Beautifully said, Cathie. Your reason is the overwhelming reason the show is so enjoyed by so many. While the police part is real and suspenseful, it is their beauty as a family that pulls so many to the show. Leonard Goldberg was supposedly awestruck at how a cast of people who had never met before, had done such a great job on their first "practice" dinner scene; he loved it so much, he decided that the dinner scene would be the cornerstone of the Series. It says a lot about the entire cast individually, and as a cast together. They are superb. (btw, they actually used the practice dinner scene, after editing, in the pilot Episode, which became Season 1, Episode 1. That says an awful lot about the team he had on the screen.
I go along with what Tom Selleck says on this show: I had that family dinner, and I miss it terribly. Four of the 9 people have passed: my G/M, my uncle, and my parents. We 5 baby Boomers are all that's left, and we all have our own families now. And all 5 of us have grandchildren; I have 4, my sister #1 has 1, my second sister has 2; my brother has 2; my youngest sister (another "Cathie") has 3. Our American society has lost an integral part of itself when the "Family Dinner" was lost.
Cathie Soli --they are in fact, every thing you hope a family would be, but no family I've ever know even comes close...
Coco Puff In real life, it is much more complicated than what the writers show us in a one-hour show about 20 times per Season. So, for the Reagans, we see them in a "Campbell Soup" kind of depiction, whereas real life takes so much longer to observe, and so many more stories are involved. In real life, a family would have 52 Sunday dinners per year, times 7 years, would be over 350 dinners, not including holidays and special times, like school graduations, etc. So it is not a true depiction. I suppose, what we as fans of the Series gain, is an appreciation of what the spirit of a unified family can achieve over the course of a year. And we do not see the very ordinary Sundays, which are the bulk of a family's life together. I had dinners with my family from about 1950, the earliest I can remember, until I married in the early 1970s, and during that period, I can only remember a very few of them, but the really great ones, and the very sad ones (when my Uncle and when my grandmother both passed away) that stay in my memory because of their significance. It is the spirit of what a unified family can achieve, which is important, not a detailed list. In fact, I and my spouse of 25 years very much repeated the family dinners with just us 5, so it is realizing what great strength that a family obtains that is the lesson that we learn. Those of the viewers who did not have family dinners over the years, are the ones who feel it the most, because they see what they missed by not having them
I love their family dinners. Want to implement that in my future family!
I know they might argue but their still a family I love them
and might I add, The warmth that the family dinners have is comforting. Evne when they do not agree. It's what families do. They model disagreements in such a healthy way. I love, Love the show.
This has been one of my best TV shows so far. I love the Reagan family Sunday dinner talks (debates) and everything else.
LOVE Blue Bloods. Just want to say that Bridget Moynihan is simply gorgeous. Great in her role, as well.
I am so very very happy that you’re still going to be on TV I would be just sad
One of the best shows on TV
I started watching the show cause of the dinner scenes, families rarely eat together anymore. Erin is so beautiful 😍😍
We happened on the show by accident, but love it and have been binge watching on Netflix.
The one I saw the other day when a tragedy happens to a close friend of the P.C. (Dennis Haysbert playing a Police Chief.) Best one ever,
A Must See!
Carl Muench true
No fair
Netflix in the UK doesn't have it on there 😟
I Love Blue Blood,I watched the show all the time.

Yolie Hine
BLOOD BLUES IS A VERY INTERESTING SHOW! TOM PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE US ! I WATCH ALL THE SHOWS NEW ONES AND OLD ONES! I LOOK VERY FORWARD TO WATCH THE NEW ONES! HOPE JAMIE AND EDDY GET MARRIED! I FEEL THEY ARE MY FAMILY!
Tom ,you look good even when you get older
i was watching "The Mentalist" tv show(i think it was in 2015!!) and an advertisement of blue bloods popped up and after this i havent missed a single episode!!! u get so much from this show!!! the family bond they have, the principles each of them have, the quotes they say(tom mostly.. )..it's just amazing!! THANK YOU FOR ALL THE 10 AMAZING SEASONS!!
Great interview. One of my favorite shows. Blue Bloods even edges out my other fav Chicago PD.
Your right great show
Jobs. Burleson,
Will is as you say a great young man and he is so
Convincing . You believe he is his. Character he plays. He's easy cool comb. Like his subject character . In all they all are great . And all realy good looking folks . Off the show . They look great. And offstage theylookthe same . Most actors look nicer on TV.
Then look entirely different off TV. That is realy a unusual hapening. Good genes.
I was raised an only child by my mother & grandmother, so I didn't have positive male role-models in my life like the ones this show provides. I've always dreamed of having a father like Frank or a grandfather like Henry, & I've always wished I had brothers like Danny & Jamie. It's also been 15yrs since I had a big family dinner like that, & the longing is still there. For Mom, she connects with the show not only because of her massive crush on Tom Selleck, but also because she's a native New Yorker. She gets to go home for an hour.
i just read your comment Danielle, and appreciate you opening up your heart. I was raised in a Two-parent home; but am raising a single-parent home now. I know the HUGE difference. I never wanted my kids to experience a broken home. Role models are Key to children that are not exposed to a steady, and daily Male role model at home. Only by God's Grace through Jesus Christ , do i remain sane in trying to keep my home as 'balanced' as possible. Positive shows like this and sports help keep my kids pretty balanced. Family Dinners are key and Important
Your story really touched me. Maybe the Reagan's can adopt you and your mom for a "FAMILY DINNER"!! That would be so AWESOME!! You could be a long lost relative visiting for a week. I can be a long lost cousin!! As much as I would love to be there, I'll be praying for you Danielle that someone from the show sees this and you and your mom will have that big family dinner you've always dreamed of. Good luck sweetheart!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
#bluebloodsfamilydinnerfordanielleandhermom. #pleasehavethisgoviral
those dinners on the show are key to its success !!!
I love how she started with Will. Finally, he should get some attention. Tired of it always being the others. I like them all but sometimes Will gets slighted & he is a great actor.
Will was great in U-571 as well. It was a minor role in the film, but even back then he was becoming a fine actor.
He seems a little shy in interviews but yes, it's good to see Will get a to answer some questions .
@@gallavichlove808 Vanessa Ray doesn't get much attention either.

On my sixth round of binge watching all seasons on Netflix. Each time it seems to get better.
Love this show so much! Donnie is my favorite but the other actors are great too and the story lines of each episode are really interesting and intense! One of my favorite crime shows!
Tom has three emotions on the show: (forced) smile, grimace, & sigh. I watchem anyway.

Love blue bloods and i hear season 10 is in the making.
Love Blue Bloods!
Love the Show I’m so sad that they are talking about ending the show. ❤️ Tom hay... He was a hunk of a man to watch at age 5 on Magnum PI and he just gets better. He’s still a Mc Hottie. But I love the family aspect and how they show how officers give so much and get to little in return. Also their families give up more than an of us realize. I love the morals they value. Great job to the writers as well as all the actors!! I will surely miss this show.
Love the show!!!! Please come back!
From the very first show, we were hooked. Everything and everyone on the show is like family to us (including my son's favorite go to phrase "what would Frank Regan do?" Your family dinner scenes reminds me of our dinner table and is the way we end each Friday night with you. Thank you.
Record so never miss
One of the best ever
Great show, great scripts, great actors!
pranksterguy1 agreed!
100% agree on all three counts!!

Love this TV show...love Tom 😍
I love your dinner meal time as a family that should how it be
Those dinner meals are 100% real and take 6-8 hours to film. Individual meals are changed often and kept warm. Donnie Wahlberg eats more than the other cast member.
GREAT SHOW!!
Grandi ❤️❤️❤️👍🇮🇹

Best show ever
Loved this show, cause of the family aspect. It’s a one of a kind piece of cinema
love the show
I love this serie! So many good actors together, so lovely made, so american, so true..., really exciting nice wonderful!
What a blessed trio....whom the truly portray! There IS no finer series on TV right now....nor has there been since I can't recall. The weekly meals together epitomize precisely what is, & has been, lacking in America for so long. The breakdown of the family unit, exacerbated by the absence of God in so many families, is the greatest cause of the breakdown of morality & common sense, compounded by the apparent absence of human compassion for others in society! What FAMILY stood for in the 40s, 50s, & early 60s was proof if its validity...when people had a conscience!
Love it!
I love this show because it hits close to home and I'm also joining the NYPD
Love this show.
I Love Blue Blood. I hope it never goes off. I was the only child so I never received a wonderful large family dinner. So I enjoy the dinner part as well as everything else. It was just my mom and I which was enjoyable. Thank you for Blue Blood.
YES ABOUT BRINGING LINDA BACK! I've been saying that for 2 years now. They never showed her body. Amnesia, when the helicopter went down! You can always bring someone back! DO NOT GET RID OF TOM..... To much long shows of him. He's a legend. Love, love, love Tom Selleck💋💋💋💋❤⚘🙏

Awesome show and cast! I watch reruns on another channel on Wednesday. (ION) It’s funny how you read on Instagram the show is ending and the hatred between the cast. I look forward to watching the show all the time! 🤗👍🇺🇸

It gets better with each passing season. It should go on for 20+ years. Look at law and order, and I think BB is far better than law and order, another show I enjoy!

When is blue bloods going back on Netflix???
Despite being a Liberal myself, I like Tom Selleck. He's like a comfort actor.
reading the comments? you've got to see the 2 part episode w/Dennis Haysbert playing a Police Chief/Friend of Commisioner Reagan. The best 2 hours I've seen in any series.
Bridget is 18 days younger than me.
I would like to see the episode that was Amy Carlson last..what's the date?
one love
We Love. beluebloods!
I love blue bloods I loved it since it started
only tv show I allow on my tube (via netflix, which I hate most shows on Netflix), and I love the examples these story lines set. Love these actors, hope they never go political, and always stay moral.
