So true. It irritates the life out of me when time and time again, innocent people lose their lives because evil monsters are let out early and nobody ever checks on them ever again. THIS! Im an embalmer and during my schooling we were forced to pair up male/female because so many men secretly have thoughts of having sex with dead bodies and funeral homes finally got tired of it. Its disgusting and absolutely stomach churning I got into mortuary work bc I wanted to help families, I wanted to give them at least a sliver of happiness in such a dark time meanwhile these people wanted the exact opposite. Similar to teachers abusing students, caretakers abusing the elderly, cops abusing inmates etc the person they are told to trust ends up being the one to take what little dignity they have. Im truly glad my program had us do monthly psychiatric evaluations it helped weed out those weirdos.

      Right?
They often bring up how faithful and religious this person was. Never missed church. Such a good Christian. And, because we are socialized to automatically think religious people are good and trustworthy, it almost always seems like a huge contradiction.
But religious people, especially those who know they can sin and then confess their sins and be forgiven (by the third party that is a deity, instead of the person they hurt) can be the worst type of person.
Religion make a good place to hide yourself if you're a sick, evil bastard. And, as it's said, "With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil; but for good people to do evil - that takes religion."

In my early 20s I hitch hiked all across up and down side to side in the United States. A lot of my rides were from long haul truckers. So many windows have stickers saying "NO LOT LIZARDS" to deter sex workers from approaching their trucks. I would have a sign saying "Headed west" or wherever I was trying to go. I look back and realize how insanely lucky I am that something horrific didn't happen to me. I grew up around truckers because my family owns a small trucking business, so I know how to talk and I know how to name drop a known business that I'm the daughter of. Maybe that protected me sometimes. Idk. Sometimes the drivers knew my dad, even if it was in Michigan and my families small business is in PA. I once spent 12 hours in a truck with a guy named Billy Deville. He could talk and talk, but I never fall asleep on a ride. So there was a lot of red bull consumed on that trip. Turns out he was a great dude, onky wanted to get me where I wanted to be safe. I'll never forget that. But I would NEVER EVER EVER suggest to ANYONE to do the shit I did back then.

Our "justice system". It seems clear what it's purpose is, and that is to remain in business. Can you imagine the collapse of our economic system if there weren't millions of jobs that relied on this ridiculous cycle of catch and release? Weak sentences, unbelievable plea deals, and early releases. It makes perfect sense if an industry is first seeking to just remain busy and paid, especially lawyers and judges.

    • @73cidalia
      @73cidalia Місяць тому

It wouldn't collapse. The system is overburdened. There is far more crime than police and courts and prisons can manage -- that's why this whole catch-and-release nonsense. There's also the issue of stupid laws, where one person gets a lengthy sentence for drug possession because of a three-strike rule (I can see for a dealer, but for a struggling addict, it's just wrong) but a cold-blooded killer gets practically a slap on the wrist. Even sentencing for attempted murder is ridiculous. Your sentence should be based on intent and action, not on whether you were successful or not.

You are not the only one wondering this. Perhaps they just focused on him because he was the attacker. But it scares me to think that she knew he did this and just threw a sheet over a dying girl.
Someone suggested that she might have been trying to keep her quiet so her husband didn't come back.
And that could be partially truth. We do very weird things when we're shocked and panicked. I've been in positions before where I have made some bad decisions because of the panic and the absolute alien to me situation I found myself in.
But it's still really suspect. I would like to know what happened with the first wife too. I would like to think that they served her something. But considering that John only got a couple of years for that attempted murder, which was *clearly* an attempted murder, then it doesn't surprise me that they didn't do anything with the wife. Bad policing can ruin everything.

The work, research, and story telling are the best I've seen in a long time. The crime I'm talking about is Wayne Williams the serial killer from Atl, GA. He killed boys in the Atl area in the early '80s. I do know a lot about his case but I know you will find things I don't know. For one thing I have no idea why he committed those crimes. My reason to find out all I can is. We moved to a suburban neighborhood of Atl the day before my 9th birthday in 1980. From a small town in VA that didn't have much violent crime that I knew of. When I was just a kid, I entered and establishment that was kind of a mix of different things. You could buy candy or food there, but it was also a bar, and, like most of these types of establishments, they had VHS tapes for rent.
    Yes, I am that old.
Mind you I'm a child. I'm probably no older than eight or nine.
And one of those VHS tapes was a movie about some murderer killing high schoolers. Super common fare, back then. On the very front of this VHS sleeve, where you would usually see a picture of Freddy from Nightmare on Elm Street, or maybe Jason from Friday the 13th, (usually something that might have been a poster for the movie when it was playing in theaters) was a picture of a high school cheerleader, her skirt askew, one of her legs up on the desk while she was sitting on the seat of the desk, pom poms still in her hand. The way she was posed was already sexualized with her legs wide open. Of course it didn't take much to be sexualized back in the '80s. But it was.
The most disturbing part about this, though, is that the girl was obviously dead. She was slumped back, her head at an awkward angle so that she somewhat face the viewer, but also showing that she had a large funnel, the type you would use to put oil in a car, shoved halfway down her throat.
So clearly this was one of the victims, and she had been firced to ingest something that had likely taken some time to actually kill her.
And I remember, as a very young girl, staring at this picture and wondering why they would ever sexualize a dead body. What had happened to this girl should have been taken seriously. She was a person and now she was just a pretty display while also dead. That disturbed me so much that it's been at least 30 years if not 40, and I can still remember that VHS sleeve.
So the sexualization of dead women's bodies has been around for a long time. I've even known a very famous artist who painted a dead woman, with a ridiculously long sword stuck through her torso, obviously dead, with a demon leaning over her, caressing her a sexual fashion.
I did try to find it. But I think the artist may have come to his senses and tried to wipe it from his collection.
    It's everywhere in our society.

I'm shocked churches in US are like that, so everyone can become a pastor, even a total creep :///. I am Catholic and it requires a lot to be a priest. You have to be accepted to a seminary, that lasts for years and they you can resign or be kicked off if they find you unfit for being a priest. Also it requires psychological exams, so you must be sane and emotionally mature enough. Person like John would never become a priest, he'd probably would never become an alumni. It scares me there are churches that don't have any requirements for people becoming a clergyman, it's like they find their "preacher licenses" in bags of chips 💀

@@charlessarver1637 I never said the system us perfect. Nothing is. You'll have the same problem in schools, sport clubs, boy scouts, choirs, private schools, Nickelodeon - everywhere where adults can be around children. Unfortunately there is a number of sick people in every group, and statistically there is no proof that there's more p*dos around catholic priests than in other religions (rabbis, imams etc). It's just the number of people in general population - not much, not less. It's spoken more about Catholic priests in the media than about, for example, gym teachers, while statistic says it's more likely to be molested by a coach than by a priest. Unfortunately the problem in our church was with bad people who covered those cases. Small group of people destroyed trust for the whole church for decades, and it's pretty sad. But we have to remember that usually p*dophiles are attacking kids in their close environment - nieces, nephews, grandkids, sons and daughters, neighbours. And they often choose jobs that make them close to kids too.
I never said there is no problems inside my church (like in any other group of people). What I've said was we don't have cults like Jonestown or David Koresh because papal authority and prolong education of priests helps get rid of wackos like this guy here.

My thoughts are : how many times do religious people have to PROVE that they are no better than anyone else, and no less capable of horrendous crimes, before we STOP trying to pretend that being religious automatically makes one a good, trustworthy person. Before we STOP trying to use going to church or praying as 'proof' that one was a good person. It's proves only that they were religious, not that they were a good person. And it needs to stop. It's biased, and it's bigoted.

Recently, it's due to the efforts of George Soros. He massively funds the election of liberal "woke" District Attorney candidates. These are the ones who, when elected, let violent criminals out of jail, and prosecute law-abiding people who defend themselves against such criminals. Incidentally, as a young man, in Hungary, during WWII, he helped the Gestapo track down Jews for deportation to the concentration camps. He's said that if he hadn't done it, someone else would have, and the Nazis rewarded him for doing it.

The church really needs to start vetting potential pastors more thoroughly. This is like the thousandth tale of a church leader doing something heinous that I've heard. As non Christian looking in I have to say it reflects incredibly poorly on the religion as whole to have your leaders known for pedophilia and sexual deviance on a global level. Im not trying to sling mud here, and i do hold respect for Christianity, but this is just something that needs to be adressed better in Christian organizations.
