God i wished they wouldve gone through with plans to make Ella Bruce's daughter in the 2009 reboot. That wouldve legit gave Ella an axe to grind with Amanda. Ella wouldve hated Amanda for driving her father to suicide.

This is one of the best scenes of season 3. I wished they wrote more juicy stories throughout the series. Amanda should have been given more similar stories.
I like how the tension slowly increases between Bruce and Amanda, with no music until the "You are fired!". I don't think this scene would have been done in this way in subsequent seasons. Season 3 knew how to keep the balance between being over the top and austere when needed.
Yes. She and Peter will take over D&D in later episodes, and Bruce will hang himself in Amanda's office leaving her a note saying "Congratulations on your promotion".
@@Angyali The few times Alison did something good, she gave her credit. But when she tried to discipline Alison for her screw-ups, Bruce went against her. When Alison screwed up, Bruce blamed Amanda.
@@catnip2167 yes, i remember two occasions in MP where Alison dropped the ball but ran to Bruce when it looked like Amanda would pull her up on her mistakes. I think one was a client she slept with and Amanda pulled her from that account but she ran upstairs to Bruce to complain and he sided with her. But his biggest mistake was giving Alison Amandas job when she had cancer, she was utterly out of her depth!

Like when Alison said she "saved" the cruise line account after she was the one who screwed it up in the first place - by having no idea what the client was looking for and pitching the opposite of what they wanted. Then to save her own as, blabbed to them about Amanda's cancer.

I know Amanda took her off an account for drinking too much and Alison ran to Bruce claiming she brought the client in, and Bruce overturned Amandas decision which did nothing to improve their relationship..

Bruce was one of the few characters who stood up to Amanda. His death was a waste on Melrose.
I agree. They should have kept him around. I would have liked to seen him battle Peter and Amanda after the doctors took over D&D.
